  • Hello friends, here's how I did the base and details, weathering, rust effects on my scale model to look even more realistic and cool. This is the final part of the build, and I'm very happy with how it turned out.
I want to say a big thank you to all of you who sent me nice and encouraging messages. You guys are awesome and I really appreciate it. I'm feeling much better now, so let's get on with the show.

Thank you very much for this tutorial. Some of these paint effects I still stuggle with, so thank you for the video explanation.

Congratulations again on selling out your MK44 book! Mecha Warehouse seems to have some, at least as of the writing of this comment for anyone that has been missing out! Glad to hear you're feeling back to normal! That is the most important. Appreciate the hairdryer decal tip and love watching the construction of the base, all the layering really does produce a natural looking effect and I think your use of actual references comes across well. The limited palette and keeping the fallen leaves complementing the rust tones is excellent! Great idea using the aluminum foil with the punch set, seems I no longer have to rely on using preserved, natural leaf material. Take care! -Chris

I'm really glad you are feeling better. You did a great job with this kit. Although, I collect and paint different models, your work is always an inspiration to me. I always find myself stealing your techniques and ideas. I can't wait to see the next project. Thanks for sharing!

Your weathering techniques are in a league of their own. I am curious if you replaced any of the soft plastic spring type cables? Looking forward to getting my hands on your second book.

Hello Lincoln, I’m interested to know how you were able to get directly involved with the JP model industry, it’s an industry I myself as an American am trying to breach into, and would like to know how you did it.

Can anyone explain to me how he gets the Lacquer paint to not pull itself up when he touches it again? I’m having lots of trouble with this and Tamiya LP line. I had to sand an entire gundam after it dried fully, the paint was a disaster. I do very well with “acrylics” but really want to step my game up!

Off topic. I just saw the video of what are the differences of the various modeler's paints ("Best Paints for Plastic Models"). Can you do a follow up of what are the best "rattle can" (and airbrush) spray primers, both those that are made for model painting (eg Tamiya Fine Primer) and those general purpose primers not intended for use on models, but you possibly want to use and could get away with using are cheaper on a per oz/gram bases (eg. Krylon).
