  • This is the closest that you can get to Chipotle's Chicken! This so similar to the recipe that Chipotle makes, you won't be able to taste the difference! No need to buy it at the store anymore, when you can make it at home!
    The recipe was formed based upon Chipotle’s ingredients listed on their website.
    Recipe:
    Marinade:
    1 Tsp Cumin Powder
    4 Garlic Cloves - Minced
    1 Tsp Dried Oregano
    2 Tsp Kosher Salt
    1 Tsp Black Pepper
    1 Tablespoon Chili Powder
    2 Tablespoons Olive Oil or Sunflower Oil
    7 Oz Can of Chipotle Peppers in Adobo Sauce
    3/4 Cup of Water
    Chicken:
    4-6 Boneless, Skinless Chicken Thighs.

    This is by far the closest thing to chipotle I have tried. I use the chicken breast which might be the only thing differing them but it’s great. This recipe blows every other “chipotle restaurant copycat recipe” out of the water. They aren’t even close and this one is actually great 👍🏻

      @@CookingwithChris1 Hey no problem but one thing that I have noticed looking around at other videos is that many people try and also copy the black bean recipe correctly. I have tried a few and they really aren't the best recipes compared to what chipotle offers so that could be a good video for you to do. Not only helpful for me but also for many others who want to get the black beans correct. I'm sure you have been asked to make many things but this would be great and looking forward to the other videos you publish.

      @colleenunvarnished you are welcome 😊. I keep a couple of small squeeze bottles with the tube tip for sauces and homemade condiments or blends. My husband loves a sandwich for his lunches and it just helps make them a little more interesting. I think my favorite is chopped sundried tomato, roasted garlic, and pesto in mayo blend. My husbands favorite is a hot roast beef and pastrami with provolone, sourkraut, and a mayo Dijon and Russian dressing mix. I put the meat in a small sauce pan of hot beef broth, toast the bread in the oven on broil, then assemble. I always wanted to open a soup, sandwich, salad place.

    We’ve made this twice now in one week. This is absolutely delicious. We think it’s far better than Chipotle chicken, there’s way more flavor. My kids and husband can’t get enough… they all said it’s the best chicken they’ve ever had.
    The first chicken I marinated for 4 hours, it was amazing. The next batch got marinated for longer and was significantly more spicy. We loved it but if I were to make this for my Mom or someone who was sensitive to spice at all, I would leave out the whole peppers and just use the sauce in the cans and or not marinate as long. But this recipe is really one of the best chicken marinades I’ve ever used and I cook ALOT.

      Yeah no...as a Kitchen Manager at Chipotle, we do not know the exact recipe for the marinade. It comes pre packaged as an adobo paste that has a VERY different consistency than this. We used to marinate the chicken ourselves each closing night, but now it comes premarinated. Also, it's always been thighs, never breasts at all because breasts dry out too easily and are less flavorful as a result (hurting the stores CI the drier it is). Recipe seems like it would be fantastic though, but not even close to how it's actually made so this is just an imitation.

      I used 2 large chicken breasts, each one sliced lengthwise and pounded with kitchen hammer to even out size. I also cross cut/scored the surface to get more marinade into the chicken and I like the texture once it’s grilled on the cast iron. The wet brining from the marinade makes the chicken breast just as good or better than thighs.

      I need someone who work in Chipotle ask me this question
      How do they keep the chicken in the steam table keeping away from drying out?

    • @CookingwithChris1
      @CookingwithChris1  3 ปีที่แล้ว +8

      You can’t technically. Eventually it will. I was always taught to only cook for the pace of the hour. If a lot of people are coming in I’d cook a full grill for a full deep third full. If it’s slow, don’t cook a shit ton of chicken because it won’t get served right away, and will dry out affecting C7.

    • @Noelle.Tyler90
      @Noelle.Tyler90 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@danieladuranvega7567 I used to work there and because they use chicken thighs, it doesn’t dry out the way chicken breast would. They also cook a new batch of the meats every hour or so just to ensure freshness. They’ll throw out meat that has been sitting for too long which is why the meat is rarely dry.

      @@CookingwithChris1 Hey there!! Love this video and I can't wait to try it soon. One thought, and this isn't a criticism at all but just some friendly advice from another former cook: when I watched you cutting up the chicken at the very end, I was getting really worried about your fingers!! I believe that your technique with your guide hand (the hand that isn't holding the knife) makes this more likely to occur. I noticed that you don't curve your knuckles on your guide hand properly, which can dramatically reduce the likelihood that you might accidentally cut yourself because your fingers are protected. Again, I only offer this as a helpful tip, one that I learned from cutting myself too many times when I was working as a line cook. Happy cooking!

    6.5 minutes on each side on medium is what we were taught at Chipotle. It has been over a decade since I worked there tho. At that time the tomatoes came prechopped in a big container and the adobo marinade was basically a paste that you smeared onto the chicken

    I’ve actually never tried it in chipotle, I always get the steak. Anyway I made this recipe tonight and my husband said it was like chipotles. It was very tasty. I just cooked it on the grill, not on the stove. And didn’t add any water to the marinade. I don’t put water because I think it waters the flavours down. Also the marinade was enough to cover the chicken. But that’s my personal preference.
    So thank you for the recipe.

    I’m actually shocked by how much my family loved this. My brother has appetite issues so my jaw dropped when I saw how much of this chicken he hate. He had leftovers that I wanted my sister to try but by the time she came, my other siblings had cleaned the bones (I used legs and bone-in thighs). I quickly made another thigh for her and she was raving for 5 minutes straight. She can get nit picky about what to improve for next time but she literally told me “I have nothing to improve this. It’s perfect.” Looks like I’ll be making this again 😅
    Also, I air-fried the chicken at 375° F for 20 minutes, flipping halfway, and they turned out perfect. I recommend letting them rest after they come out because the chicken can be a bit rubbery when eaten straight away. After about 5 minutes of rest they become extremely soft and tender. I cannot thank you enough for this recipe!
    (Also, mine didn’t taste exactly like Chipotle’s, it may have been the ingredients I used. But it’s very easy to say that I don’t need this to taste like Chipotle!)

I made tacos out of this and it's exactly like Chipotle. Fair warning tho...
