  • One of the last surviving copies of The Harry Hibbs Show, recorded at CHCH-TV in Hamilton. Harry's presence as a Canadian television lasted from 1969 to 1976 with his own show, and beyond with regular appearances on The Tommy Hunter Show, Country Time, and Come All Ye.
This recording features Harry's backing group, the East Wind (formerly known as the Caribou Showband).
The band featured vocalist/bassist & MC Johnny Burke, banjoist Glen Reid, fiddler Brian Barron, pedel steel player Bob Lucier, keyboardist Mel Aucoin, and drummer Roddy LaPierre. Also featured on this show is vocalist Dianne Leigh.

I am a Newfoundlander and have most of Harry's Records. He was an ICON here- This show is better than the Junk stuff that dominates the music scene today.

Was never big into the C&W stuff - but that Dianne Leigh is a great singer, and performer. And Brian Barron - terrific fiddler. And all the rest of course ... !

I wonder how many of the entertainers and audience is still a round now almost 50 years later? RIP-Harry Hibbs- I live in Rural Nfld. and back in the late60's to probably late 80's when 4 or more of the six night clubs within a 20 mile radius on a Saturday night would probably have a live band. Remember A rank Willis and many more entertainers from my general area. Now only 2 of these night clubs are in business. We hear a live band or two only at Summer festivals in this area now- 70's-80's great music era-The fun we had.

Harry's accent in some song's remind me of a Bristol accent or a touch of the Wurzels.
