When I was first diagnosed with Chronic Fatigue Syndrome, I had low Cortisol, Very Low in B vitamins and Magnesium. I was given a prescription for the cortisol and had to give myself injections for the B's and magnesium for a couple of months. This combination saved my sanity and my life, so I know how important cortisol really is. Very good explanation of the difference between high and low, thank you.
Bonita Trost's post was from "3 years ago," @@odiarroyo6144, & Bonita Trost hasn't responded -- at least not as yet -- to your amiable query from "3 days ago." I never knew about cortisol until I started watching your channel Dr Berg. Stress is inevitable, but it's interesting to know how the body & the mind act upon each other !!!!! I have been following you for more than 6 months & have understood this and many other concepts so well ! it has changed my mental make up. You explain everything so well, which can be understood by even a high school kid. Thank you & God bless you !
Thank you Dr. Berg for everything you have done and shared. This helps. I am sure I had high cortisol for years, but now I believe there is very little left. Add menopause to that and whoa...Will be getting dim soon. Finishing cruciferous. Doing keto & IF for 4 mos. Lost 35 lbs. so far. The videos are a great source of encouragement & support for me.
In the 50’s we had 3 channels on tv, no computers, no internet, no social media, no packed freeways with 2 hour commutes, families with 2 parents, and generally a much less stressful existence. By no coincidence things like lupus, chronic fatigue, celiac, Crohn’s disease, fibromyalgia and other common diseases hardly existed.
Haha, you went too far back, probably 2 decades more, 70s. I think things started going downhill late 80s, and 90s just messed up the natural order and here we are paying dearly for it. No one or family is exempted. Like you stated, there was family unit of two parents, not now that mum/ dad is the sole caretaker and having to juggle everything, leads to stress and stress always give birth to diseases; and of course the kids are put in front of computers/ tv where they get all their "education and love" since parent is to tired to interact with kids, then kid become obese and messed up. The circle continues as they become adult and pass it down the pyramid.
I think the diseases did exist. Often doctors dismissed people who mentioned their symptoms. With more knowledge, more people are being properly diagnosed.
I just found out I have low cortisol (only because I demanded the doctor to do the test. She didn’t want to and said “if it will ease my mind”…. Like it’s all in my head) well I was right! And my cortisol is TOO LOW. Lower than the normal range. I’ve been going to so many doctors and they did nothing to help me, I never got any answers. I told them how I’ve been suffering with chronic fatigue, dizziness, weakness, I can barely get out of bed anymore, also have suffered with severe anxiety for many years, now I have zero tolerance to stress any little thing causes me to feel extremely stressed, I’m unable to do anything. this has made my life hell. What can I do to fix it???? Thank God for your videos or I never would have found out I have low cortisol. Now I know so I can figure out how to get better. Hopefully it’s not Addisons.. My mother died 4 months ago ,I am currently in that situation of fatigue and being very tired ,how did you get out of it ,because I also feel so anxious like my cortisol is high
Answer me this, if you can. Several years of high level stress, developed chronic hives, severe allergies to antibiotics of all types, persistent sinus infections, C Diff and osteoporosis. Chronic fatigue in daytime, brain fog, insomnia and wide awake at night. Blood test shows normal cortisol in afternoon but fatigued nonetheless. How to treat? Signs and symptoms of both high and low cortisol depending on time of day.

I highly recommend getting urine blood or Salvia test cortisol levels and my doctor also had an ACTH test. Very interesting! So how long should we need to take the one supplement to notice any improvement or benefit before switching to the other formula to see if it helps if the first is not? Thanks!
As a person with Addison's Disease I am very disappointed that commentators do not differentiate between symptoms of undiagnosed vs. diagnosed and treated Addison's Disease. A person with Addison's that is taking the meds for the treatment will no longer have the darker skin pigmentation or be thin and other symptoms will be lessened but they can still get close to death in very quickly form an infection, flu .physical accident or emotional trauma. When emergency personnel do not understand these differences it is very dangerous for the person seeking emergency help for a pending Addison's crisis.
Which supplements do you take if you have low morning cortisol, moderate noon cortisol, and moderate-high evening and night cortisol? How to you get these four point-cortisol values to follow a normal diurnal cortisol response?

I had a 24 hour urine test done last month that came back that my cortisol was really low. My doctor wanted to compare it to a blood test and that came back normal range so he said I'm fine but I don't feel fine!
I go back and forth from low to high when it's high you will have nervousness, a lot of sweating like adrenaline rush type episodes and insomnia. Low was like I was dying losing a lot of weight, pain especially in the inner thighs and abdomen and inflammation was much worse when low than when high.
That's strange ,I lost a lot of weight when my cortisol is the highest because it makes me have no appetite ,only for sweets but not regular food, especially in the morning I can't stomach anything healthy ,and my cortisol is high(in the morning especially)
I'm the same. I have the high and low symptoms. Right now no energy, very weak, gastro, pain all over my body and the list goes on. Just gotta stay strong and keep on fighting.
Thank you, you have solved what I have been looking for. Low cortisol/ long covid symptons/ heart/ unconsiousness/ coffein. All others may think I am insane. Thank you.
small oatmeal with full fat milk in the morning to support the blood sugar level so that cortisol does not need to be cranked up too much for gluconeogenesis. it workes wonders. the rest of the day keto
Just got a call from the VA saying my cortisol was low from taking Opdivo for a year. I was wondering why I was so fatigued all the time and had joint inflammation
Dr Berg, I watched this video earlier this morning and believe I have low cortisol. I've been sick for over 10yrs. Unfortunately I've also gained a significant amount of weight. I've been watching your keto and IF videos and would like to start eating that way. Question- should I address low cortisol or adrenal fatigue first? Thank you so much for sharing these videos.
I have been tested for Addison s since I have Hashimoto, Celiac, Pernicious and Megaloblastic anemia. I have apparently the Cushing syndrome while being with a normal bmi, cholesterol profile, glucose and insulin levels. Doc also wanted to test me for Vitiligo: I did not know it was autoimmune.
I should add to my last comment, I wake up with head foggy, stomach immediately has butterflies and feels nervous most of day. Don't feel like eating,, but as day then night comes, especially at night I crave sugar/salty foods. I've had anxiety/depression issues before and my doctor, including psychologist say I'm suffering from hypochondriasis or health anxiety, as I'm constantly trying to find answers for why I feel nervous and on edge most of every day. I'd love to not be labelled as social anxiety and generalized anxiety disorder and think there's a way out of this, but because this lasts most of day with being tired, (but wired), keyed up, nervous, headaches, hearing is sensitive, hyper aware to everything etc, I now because nervous in public. Seeing the 2 issues are similar I don't understand how to keep it in balance to know if I"m now in the "normal" range. All I know is I cannot handle stress, hard time focusing, simple tasks, nervous over things I know I shouldn't be etc, which I get dizzy, feel like I"m on a boat and disoriented, headaches aren't surppressed with normal advil etc. Anybody else here going through this? Doesn't help I was diagnosed and had previous issue with SVT (racing heart condition) which I had ablation in 2012 plus one of my 3 brothers has schizophrenia. So I'm constantly worried something is wrong with me whether it's my heart, now my cortisol levels, and that I may go crazy like my brother. Essentially I have a weird fear of dying or going crazy, and I'm constantly obsessing over symptoms which brings on more symptoms - vicious cycle. Waiting for a comprehensive stool sample test I had done to come back to let me know if I have potential bacteria or other overgrowths in stomach which could be contributing to my anxiety/depression. Anyone please help!
@Jean Spella Hi Jean. Thanks for reply. Do you speak from experience? A lot has happened since I posted comment you just replied to. However after reading my comment I'm still in similar situation and it saddens me to see this. I tapered off meds, had some terrible withdrawal effects, felt better for a while. Lately back to waking up and feeling on edge and nervous most of day. I dont think so much about cortisol levels. I did get results back from stool tests and found small yeast growth. Also found I have NG (no growth) with lactobacillus the good bacteria in stomach. Stool test also found secratory IGA or sIGA was way too high and nobody can tell me what that means. All info on net discusses too low. Anyways my biggest battles are I'm now fixated on neurotransmitter levels and chemical imbalances. For example I still have nervousness most of day and I've tried more things than I can imagine, so my brain says it must be a chemical imbalance stopping me from getting better. Not sure dr Berg's take on neurotransmitter levels. I show symptoms of too low and too high of serotonin and dopamine and also too low gaba when checking website lists so its confusing and impossible to know what's going on. Being I have an older brother with schizophrenia and seeing high dopamine is a signal of this, I'm afraid to take L Tyrosine.... stupid thing I'm worrying about. The other part of tells myself to ignore all of this and either a) it's not an issue or b) if there's an imbalance I can correct it with how I eat, think, exercise etc. Anyways I tried probiotics because of gut issues but dont think it helped. Been studying Claire Weekes and eckhart tolle acceptance/surrender concepts but find it so hard when I feel how I do most of day. How can I do acceptance all day for hours. Find very little relief. Wish I could let go of my OCD and hypochondria when it comes to believing doctors have missed some undiagnosed thing that's stopping me from getting better. Ita almost like if I can accept it's just generalized anxiety disorder and I get on with some recovery I could actually get better. But back of my mind thinks we are missing something ie: whether it's a gut health thing, chemical imbalance, blood sugar thing that perhaps didnt come up on proper tests etc. Appreciate you replying but not totally sure what you were implying. Thanks
Hi, I know this is an older post, hope you are doing much better. My daughter had similar symptoms. Have you ever heard of SIBO It's bacterial overgrowth in the small intestines that can produce these kinds of symptoms. You can find other people who talk about this on U-tube. My daughter also surrendered her life to Christ and has a great deal of peace now. Try reading the word of God. It is healing to all of our flesh. Sure hope your doing better, God Bless.
In your last video which also talks about the same topic, you told us that one of the low cortisol symptoms is low blood pressure and now you are telling us it also contains high blood pressure. What should I believe? So confusing :( Was the last one talking about the addisons?
LUNA J when cortisol levels frequently / rapidly change from low or high, Blood pressure spikes from low to high, or high to low.heat /hot weather does this to my adrenal glands.i don’t know if tests can be perfect. Ask dr 😀
Dr. Berg, is it not better to find out exactly if i have high or low cortisol levels? and then treat it accordingly? and if so how do i find out my cortisol levels? Thanks
How do you feel with Addison? Fatigued all the time? Insomnia, anxiety, depression? How long have you been in adrenal fatigue (stage 3 I suppose) before you developed Addison?
True ,but the problem is mental stress makes us sick physically, for example anxiety that's not treated can GENUINELY make you sick, even your hormones ,digestion, food intolerances ,can get screwed because of anxiety, this is why people with anxiety disorder NEED medication or they will get very sick physically eventually.I never addressed my severe anxiety disorder and high cortisol ,so now I am having lots of issues with my digestion and intolerances and all around weakness in my body,I was never seriously treating my anxiety for years ,so now I suffer the consequences
Ashwaganda and holy basil kills my libido and very low dose cdb oil helps me sleep better but makes me cry the next day. What can I take for low morning cortisol, moderate noon cortisol, and moderate-high evening and night cortisol? I like the better sleep with CBD oil but I don't like crying the next day into the evening.😞
Can your product be delivered to germany? German medicines don't even pay attention to deases like adrenal fatigue, within the majority it probably doesn't exist. But I know it does. Just have cured out mine - took some weeks. Very helpful video! Thank you so much!
About eight years ago I was prescribed Cortef... I took 20 mg a day I stopped taking it about a month ago... now only off/on to see what would happen ... muscle pain I thought it was just basic fatigue and come back yesterday I took my first 10 mg oh my GOD ...what a difference ...I think I will need to get my blood work re-checked so I don’t take too much of it I still don’t know if I need 20 MG‘s now...
Hi Dr. Berg, Thank you for providing this information. It is very much appreciated. I've been struggling with fatigue for about three years and it is getting worst. I especially get really weak on the days that I exercise or if I'm going up and down the stairs and moving around a lot. It has gotten worst. I get so weak to the point where I have to eat something usually carbs to save myself. Does this sound like adrenal fatigue? If so, how do I fix it without taking supplements? I'm not a supplement taker. I prefer real, fresh food. Thank you. Jennie I
Chronic fatigue.. I have it too. Take a B1 supplement - 600 mg a day. It helped me tremendously. Sounds like you have adrenal fatigue. But when adrenals are burnt out you feel that mentally too. Wired and tired, anxiety, insomnia, excessive thinking, sensitivity to bright lights, to loud noises, if you watch a movie it affects you on a personal level etc. At least this is what I had in adrenal fatigue.
Hmmm thank you very much dr. Brad now I know what's my problem because our adrenal fatigue are 100% match my husband symptoms but not me ,even though we both are adrenal body type. He have more inflammation and autoimmune problems.
I had low cortisol because I was givin a steroid that mimics it in structure to replace it in my body do to inflammation in my bronchiole tubes , I was giving 5 pills 1 a day for five days , same time everyday , before I was schedule to take the pill I noticed my stress reaction was very sensitive, I would overreact to minor stress stimuli , which told me it was time for my pill , when I had no more pills , I went crazy , for three days, the only thing that saved my cortisol production was broccoli plates and plates of broccoli
Daniel Chap I haven’t been able to get off of prednisone. It’s been a year on and off and they are just now doing an allergy test, but I am way sensitive to stress now that this has been going on. Your comment helped soothe in a way.
Marcie Salkowski you have to tell yourself it’s just the lack of prednisone , and eat tons of broccoli took me three days to come back to normal I ate broccoli plates everyday
We sure do live in the most stressful times, but I didn't not realise the effects of this on the body are just very alarming from your education. The human condition lost in thought! + stress = Cortisol
Is you have low cortisol you can stand under very hot shower and you can not against cold temp outdoor If you have high cortisol you Don't Mind the cold temp outdoor Hot shower you Don't like Just test it.

Just gotta stay strong and keep on fighting.
cmac how did u fix it??
Thank you, you have solved what I have been looking for. Low cortisol/ long covid symptons/ heart/ unconsiousness/ coffein. All others may think I am insane. Thank you.
Glad to help. Thanks for watching!
This is my story to the t. How are u now and have u fixed urself
So the question is: how can you flush your receptors and renew the system to get it back on track???
Drink a half gallon of Jack Daniel's within 2 minutes. I'm pretty sure that will straightened you out.
Please do tell me when you figure it out!

You gotta check how sport fixes cortisol levels. Research it a bit.
small oatmeal with full fat milk in the morning to support the blood sugar level so that cortisol does not need to be cranked up too much for gluconeogenesis. it workes wonders. the rest of the day keto
Such a great doctor!
Thanks Dr. Berg for the explanation. Is it possible to have low levels of cortisol and also low blood pressure ?
Hi Dr Berg, could u please do a video on vitiligo ?
@Margo Lockweeze Are you sure? Which brand do you recommend as there are hundreds of brand out there.
Just got a call from the VA saying my cortisol was low from taking Opdivo for a year. I was wondering why I was so fatigued all the time and had joint inflammation
I have low morning and midday levels, and high late afternoon, and wayyy high (over the range) level at bedtime. Makes for no sleep at night. 😴
@@cherylmockotr Provigil helps, u get a script for it, I know it helped wit ADD also!
Take 600 mg of benfothiamine for low cortisol, it will reduce the fatigue.
Take ashwagandha and potassium yo lower your cortisol at night
Thankful dr Berg for your wonderful information
Thank you so very much for showing this video I most certainly got a look into that meds
All your videos are so to the point! I love it!!!
Is it better to get a saliva cortisol test to definitely determine if it’s low or high before buying the supplement?
Dr Berg, I watched this video earlier this morning and believe I have low cortisol. I've been sick for over 10yrs. Unfortunately I've also gained a significant amount of weight. I've been watching your keto and IF videos and would like to start eating that way. Question- should I address low cortisol or adrenal fatigue first? Thank you so much for sharing these videos.

Wow ... very interesting, need more info
i have addissons disease, i really hope you can make a video about it
Mira Bazzi he has a short one. Basically, lower potassium and increase salt. So eat low potassium veggies and add sea salt to anything and everything.
oh but for addissons we take steroids on a daily basis i think that changes.
My ads are like 1 hour because of you
can you a video that explains what ketosis is and how to start?
My_Vizsla he has tens of videos about it .. just look through his videos
Thanks doctor. Great information.👍🏼
Wow, it's crazy that we are born not nowing how our body works... and it's so confusing and difficult to find out :(
I must have high cortisol! I love your shirt, Doc 😉
What is the unit of measurement for cortisol ? What is the test to determine if there is a cortisol problem?
In your last video which also talks about the same topic, you told us that one of the low cortisol symptoms is low blood pressure and now you are telling us it also contains high blood pressure. What should I believe? So confusing :(
Was the last one talking about the addisons?
LUNA J when cortisol levels frequently / rapidly change from low or high, Blood pressure spikes from low to high, or high to low.heat /hot weather does this to my adrenal glands.i don’t know if tests can be perfect. Ask dr 😀
Dr. Berg, is it not better to find out exactly if i have high or low cortisol levels? and then treat it accordingly? and if so how do i find out my cortisol levels?
Thanks
Test your salivary cortisol
Dr,Berg What about pituitary problems?
Darn. Bought the wrong one! Needed the Adrenal fatigue, one for Low, not the one with Cortisol. Assume it will still help in some way.
Thank you doctor Eric👍
I have Addisons and Vitaligo, thank you for making this video.
Creative Fun hi does all vitiligo addison desease are you thin with many other issues.what do you do.
How do you feel with Addison?
Fatigued all the time? Insomnia, anxiety, depression?
How long have you been in adrenal fatigue (stage 3 I suppose) before you developed Addison?
our bodies can adapt to physical stress more so than most people can believe. mental stress is a different issue.
What is a long walk? 30mins, 60 mins? Also, how often should we be taking long walks?
Hmmmm... Still confused. I think it's not unpacked enough for me to understand my own situation. But I love your videos Dr Berg.
See reply to Kayla Marie Albert above.
Thank you very much for the video!
Hey your video was really helpfull , I’m not sure if i have high or low cortisal levels . How can i recognise ?
Fasting resolves a multitude of ailments. But must be done wisely. Is there a need for fasting /workout Doctors?
Ashwaganda and holy basil kills my libido and very low dose cdb oil helps me sleep better but makes me cry the next day.
What can I take for low morning cortisol, moderate noon cortisol, and moderate-high evening and night cortisol?
I like the better sleep with CBD oil but I don't like crying the next day into the evening.😞
Thank you from Germany.
You're very welcome.
You are amazing with the info thank you
Outstanding video
Thank you! That has helped
what is the best supplement or nutrients to adjust the cortisol?
Can your product be delivered to germany? German medicines don't even pay attention to deases like adrenal fatigue, within the majority it probably doesn't exist. But I know it does. Just have cured out mine - took some weeks. Very helpful video!
Thank you so much!
nicely explained the fact about Cortisol
@@Arrasel how are you doing my brother? Did you take anything else than a B1 supplement?
Berg
Yikes. I think you nailed what is happening to a friend of mine. She now breaks out in gives... Will the adrenal support help her... Thank you
What do you know about congenital Adrenal Hyperplasia non classic. I was just diagnosed and wondering if there is anything to help with this.
Hmmm thank you very much dr. Brad now I know what's my problem because our adrenal fatigue are 100% match my husband symptoms but not me ,even though we both are adrenal body type. He have more inflammation and autoimmune problems.
Assalaamou ALAYKOUM, start with D3/K2 AND ASHWAGANDHA COCONUT OIL AND OMEGA3 THEN INCREASE GREE. VEGETABLE REMOVE COFFEE.

Which will cause light headedness, high or low?
I believe low.
Because you have low blood pressure.
I have light headness too.
*Vitiligo
I still have no clue whether I have high or low cortisol.
Max Jones looking forward to it. Been and endless cycle
Marcie Salkowski I’m glad it did that’s the pill they gave me I think
Marcie Salkowski you have to tell yourself it’s just the lack of prednisone , and eat tons of broccoli took me three days to come back to normal I ate broccoli plates everyday
What would recommend for the Addisons, one of your other videos you talked about lowering potassium... but what should I be adding?
We sure do live in the most stressful times, but I didn't not realise the effects of this on the body are just very alarming from your education. The human condition lost in thought! + stress = Cortisol
Dr. Eric hello i want U 2 tell me About DHEA is it good for men over 40
ok doc so will relax and not stressing out help with cortisol resistance ? or how can I reverse cortisol resistance ?
Do a search on all my videos on cortisol - I have lots of ideas, plus supplements in the description box
Why would someone create a fake Dr Berg account just to give advice ?
The advice is good though, but its just... weird...
Is you have low cortisol you can stand under very hot shower and you can not against cold temp outdoor
If you have high cortisol you Don't Mind the cold temp outdoor
Hot shower you Don't like
Just test it.
Intresting.... a couple winters ago, i swear the cold was just an extra cold that i feel felt more extreme to me than usual. Now its not as bad.
... but i actually am now wearing a thicker winter coat haha.
i can handle extreme heat and extreme cold
I am cold intolerant but I can't stay in the sun also. I pass out. I have Hashimoto.
I have all the symptoms...
