I was considering purchasing a Z06, which if you add the $8,500 Brembos(Standard on the Eray) the $2,500 gas tax(Eray doesn’t have one), and the $5,000 base price above the Eray, costs $16k more than the Eray. And with the Eray you have a car that is faster 0-60 and the 1/4 mile, it’s so worth it and priced just right. I’d pay $12k for a wide body with Z06 suspension parts. I’d pay $12k for an Emotor/AWD system and all the accompanying software, add the Mag ride, nice spoiler, larger Rims/Tires, Brembo Brakes, performance Exhaust, and the list goes on. For the $16k savings I’m purchasing the HTC, 3LZ, Front Nose Lift, and other goodies. It’s so worth it, especially when it’s beating, or keeping up with, cars that cost what, 2-3 times as much? And the maintenance cast on a C8 vs those far more expensive cars??? Thank you Tadge for making the C8. Any form of the C8 is the best bang for the buck.
SVJ is closer to that Corvette weight than you think Mike. I think the E-Ray sounds amazing and is an awesome upgrade over the Stingray! This is the first AWD Corvette and this is only the beginning. Wait until the Zora and I bet everyone will lose their minds!

Almost feels like the E-Ray is the Grand Sport for this C8 generation. It uses the Z06 shell, some wide wheels/tires, mag dampers as standard, and more aggressive "aero" but still maintains the LT2 from the stingray. Expensive, but cool I think. Will be very interesting to see the ZR1 and ZORA models in the next few years.
Cosmetically yes, they share similarities but that’s where it ends. What sets this car apart is it’s actually a little faster than the Z06 in the 1/4 mile and has AWD. Its a GT car that has lots of potential with its added traction benefits of the AWD and adding some turbos on there would make it that much better. Great platform imo.
@13:35 E-Ray already beats that SVJ from launch. It lost from rolling due to the weight and less hp disadvantage. Adding a supercharger or turbos to the E-Ray, the SVJ will only play catch up all the time. There is a TT E-Ray already proof to run 1/4 miles in 9.7 secs.

The weirdest thing about the E-Ray is the battery is 1.9 kWh. Which is just 2x the capacity of a high end electric BICYCLE. That e-ray battery Weighs about 50lbs including shielded casing. It's not realy an EV. Thus why it has the 6.2L LT2.

Doesn't the eRay also come standard with ceramic brakes and magnetic ride ? That's not just that bad of a value starting at $104K. And you can add a Borla exhaust for the sound, just missing the flat plaine crank sound.
Kinda funny considering that for the type of driving Mike does, the E-Ray is easily the best C8. If he were a track rat, of the kind with turns, the ZO6 would absolutely be better. The ZO6 also sounds better (above 5000 rpm). So the ZO6 has two advantages - circuit racing and exhaust sound. The E-Ray has better potential for power adders and the electric motors "torque fill" and give instant response while the turbos get to their thing. Plus for lower speed corners the electric motors are amazing, they way they claw you out of the turn and shoot you into the next one. That said, I'd still get the ZO6, just for the uniqueness of the motor.

I put the E-Ray between the Z06 and Stingray. What do you think of it in inclement weather compared to an RWD C7/8? Many probably don't think of it as a one-car garage car, but if it's decent in inclement, then it could be. I am fine with my Audi B7 S4 Cabriolet; AWD, DCT, V8, convertible, and the only convertible I've ever seen with a built-in place for snow skis. P.S. If it has a lithium battery, it's partly electric, and you can't call it an ICE. :P
When there is a way to put stronger motors or dump batteries quick then strap forced induction on then things get interesting. It's is just REAL heavy.
A Chevy ain't no Lambo....regardless of straight line performance, they are completely different leagues. With Lamborghini you are paying for top tier styling, build materials, performance and a world class name that goes with it.

I’m facing a serious dilemma! I am supposedly #1 on the list(s) for an allocation at my local dealership for the ERAY, ZO6 and the ZR1 where I purchased my 2022 2LT C8 RED MIST HTC. For about half a year, the Dealership has not received any allocations except for Stingrays. I thank you for your take on the ERAY. I pretty much had passed on it anyway, but your Vlog cemented my decision. After watching your Mustang take on the ZO6 in Mexico in another Vlog, I’m wondering if I should rethink any purchase of a ZO6 or even the ZR1 if I would be lucky enough to secure an allocation. Then, at age 69, my health is not great and my driving ability is not as great as it was in my younger years. Stick with the C8 Stingray and forget the others? Buy the next SUV I need to replace my current Daily Driver that has 155,000 miles on it? Any suggestions or recommendations?

I’m not against electric vehicles because of the performance aspect but I don’t like the idea of a whole electric system added to a traditional V8 sports car model for just 160 more HP.
Price is cheaper, comes with CC Breaks (8K Z06 option), AWD, No Gas tax like Z06, Much better milage which will (with gas prices now) save you tons of money, Also I dont know or think you can SC or Turbo a Z06. Lots of benefits..

Its not there for fuel savings. It's to power the front wheels and give you extra power with the benefits of occasionally being able to drive in electric mode. Same as 918 and sf90

I’m not really a fan of ev cars either but the new Hyundai iconic 5 N reviews are pretty amazing and make me think there may be a fun factor to ev’s after all. You should try and review one!
For me the E ray is best way to not be "caught" off guard at red lights for sudden 0- to speed sprints. Besides that it just does not make since for me. Standard LT and a sound generator for the electric motor which disconnects at higher speed meaning it's now a heavier slower stingray.
Combustion engines will be around for awhile to come. Our power grid can't keep up with AC in the summer, let alone going full EV. Also, Lingenfelter put a Maggie 2650 on an E-Ray. I'm excited for the ZR1 with turbo 5.5 AND AWD!

It is not the same type of battery. That 1.9 kWh battery produces 160 HP. Imagine 160 HP on a bicycle.

They should be due for a Z06, i know a dealer that gets 10 stingrays a year and theyre about to get another Z06. I doubt they get any ZR1 though.

Price is cheaper, comes with CC Breaks (8K Z06 option), AWD, No Gas tax like Z06, Much better milage which will (with gas prices now) save you tons of money, Also I dont know or think you can SC or Turbo a Z06. Lots of benefits..

Its not there for fuel savings. It's to power the front wheels and give you extra power with the benefits of occasionally being able to drive in electric mode. Same as 918 and sf90

For me the E ray is best way to not be "caught" off guard at red lights for sudden 0- to speed sprints. Besides that it just does not make since for me. Standard LT and a sound generator for the electric motor which disconnects at higher speed meaning it's now a heavier slower stingray.
No, it does not disconnect until about 120 mph which at that speed, you don't need the electric boost

Combustion engines will be around for awhile to come. Our power grid can't keep up with AC in the summer, let alone going full EV. Also, Lingenfelter put a Maggie 2650 on an E-Ray. I'm excited for the ZR1 with turbo 5.5 AND AWD!
1) The 0 to 60 timer on the dash started late, and if you use a stopwatch it’s closer to 3 seconds. 2) Give me the z06 all day.
