Thank you for showing this video as proof that you do not need to do anything with the Subaru Lane Assist cameras. Safelite Auto Glass was quoting me $1500 before insurance! They said the glass is nearly $1k and that nearly $400 was for calibration. Can you please comment on this so to help other people not get ripped off.
Just had the windshield replaced in our 2020 Outback. My insurance paid out just over $1k (total w/ tax & calibration) for a Carlex Subaru logo windshield. Check reviews from local glass companies. Also verify the cowl clips are installed correctly (I just had the owner of the windshield company come out to my home & replace all the missing or broken fastners the installer didn't care to do himself.
I work for safelite and the reason there is mandatory camera recalibrations is purely for liability reasons. If you get in a wreck cause the features weren't operating properly they go right to who worked on the vehicle last. Also some glass can have defects in it that don't allow the cameras to see as properly and only way to know is by recalibrating the cameras.
Does anyone else have a problem with the Eyesight Not working when it’s snowing? Also our 19 Outback randomly honks for no reason. I’ve taken it to Subaru many times, but they can’t seem to find anything.

Dealership owner told me that there was nothing wrong the glass used in Forester Wilderness glass. Suggest I call corporate. Car salesman can really lie with a straight face. Be careful a there

Does the cowl weatherstripping get glued down? I had my windshield replaced and the weather stripping near the wipers was not sticking to the glass.

Great trick to save them is to get a torch and for less than a second heat up the bottom “bulb” while prying up with a pry tool

same when it is raining real hard, even bright sun directly into it makes it stop working.
