No matter how mean a character or person is, nobody deserves an eating disorder, and it shouldn't be used as a joke so lightly. I know the joke would probably fly above most kids' heads as she's such a minor character and a mean one at that (as you said, definitely not a role model) but you have to think about how kids and teens with actual eating disorders could feel after seeing that scene. Not to mention that other scene in So Random.
Tbf, I think Disney is more popular, so more controversies are discovered. I wasn’t really allowed to watch Nickelodeon when I was a kid because it was more mature, and I knew a bunch of kids in the same boat. We were all allowed to watch Disney, and even the most religious parents let us watch Wizards of Waverly Place and the Disney Halloween movies. Point being, more people watch Disney than Nick, meaning there’s more attention on them and their actors/actresses, meaning that more controversies come to light
By the time Miley was 18 she had a hit TV show, hit movie, hit music album AND a 9 figure bank account. A lot of people spend their life in pursuit of just one of those. What is left for her? In a sense of speaking she has conquered the world. I actually feel sorry for her.
She wasn’t on the list because her legal problems took place after leaving Disney. This list is only for incidents that happened while the stars still worked for the company.
In the show Victorious (Which is technically Nickelodeon) they forced teenage Ariana Grande to dye her hair red so often that it permanently ruined her hair.
Adrienne and Vanessa shouldn't have to apologize for someone leaking their pics. A lot of people said Adrienne leaked her own photos when other people said it was Kiely from the group and I think it was Kiely
The dad from Andi Mack disgusts me. As retired law enforcement I dealt with people like this often and I'm glad I got the chance to put people like him in prison.
One of my friends told me that Jake Paul was off Bizaardvark because on his TH-cam channel, he's been talking about what's happening next on Bizaardvark or something like that.
i never knew this, but i feel like i needed to. thank you so much ms mojo for always being there for me and helping me grow as a person. i got through my parents divorce bc of you xo
Some old Disney stars and Nickelodeon stars too have done tragically horrible things but then you had great romodels like Cameron Boyce striving for not only success but change too💖
9:33 Furthermore, all episodes of "Andi Mack" that Stoney Westmoreland appeared in (which amounted to about two-thirds of the show's episodes) were basically scrubbed from further rebroadcasts. Disney+ omits those episodes, which, in hindsight, makes it pointless to have the show on the platform, since "Andi Mack" had recurring storylines that would be rendered difficult to impossible to keep up with without full context.
I’m surprised this ISN’T the number 1 on the list considering the amount of damage it did to the whole show whereas most of the others didn’t cause that much and were relatively not that serious
I remember trying to watch Andi Mack on disney+ and being confused as to why so many episodes were gone cuz its Disney's own show. and you're totally right that most of it is recurring so I ultimately didn't watch because I didn't want to miss/not understand half of it. But I admit that I had thought they'd ultimately get the other episodes because I had no idea about the awful guy. In my opinion, what he did is definitely the worst by far (as others have said, stars' nudes being leaked definitely is NOT their fault but also most of the other controversies are only issues because they're young whereas he was an ADULT doing these things, and his scandal had the potential to destroy his victim's lives (from the video, I couldn't tell if they caught him before it happened, but I'm guessing he hurt at least one kid before being caught). Plus, it really freaks me out that he was targeting kids while working on a kids show... The sad thing is that the rest of the cast was punished for him being awful because I'm sure there are other people like me who won't watch without the missing episodes, and if they don't play it on disney channel either, less people will know about it. I certainly don't know the right thing to do in that case, but it's a shame that they can't have some message with a hotline before episodes he's in or cut/re-film his scenes (I assume that's way too expensive), but I just feel bad for the kids and other actors on the show (not to mention the writers and all the backstage people) because it really was a decent show [from what I remember, I only saw the first half of the first season] and dealt with a lot of issues disney hadn't dealt with (the first officially gay character on disney channel including his coming out, racism [with the hair of andi's black friend being "distracting"], plus had an asian protagonist). But now he ruined all of their efforts not to mention now kids watching going through those issues won't have the help of seeing someone similar to them onscreen.
SR is NOT a spinoff of SWAC, it's a trashfire show that disrespects the legacy of its predecessor. Also, the show is unfunny and dull. Not to mention the infamous eating disorder joke that got Disney lambasted by the one SWAC cast member that was literally facing eating disorders at the time. Disney deserved to get thier asses kicked by Demi Lovato. 100 percent.
I'm disappointed that Vanessa said such bizarre things about the virus. I don't think it's an _automatic_ death sentence since people have managed to recover from it but it is very dangerous and the deaths that it does cause should not be treated lightly. I am glad that she apologized though. And to be fair, from the clip in this video alone Vanessa didn't look like she was completely in her right mind...(not trying to excuse her words though).
I remember when a photo of Miley making fun of Asian eyes went viral. As an Asian American, it hurt me so much at the time and it made me realize that racism exists. When I look back at it, it still leaves a bitter taste because of how she handled the situation. I understand she was young but I thought she would at least understand the impact it had on her young fans. I was so upset that her apology was half-assed that I really didn't want to support her anymore. I was simply just disgusted.
I remember being so upset when they let Mitchell Musso go. I loved pair of Kings and watching them replace him out of nowhere really upset me back then.
Some people are born with certain addictive tendencies and when put in the extremely stressful life of child stardom it triggers these tendencies and it's difficult to stop without help. When you add mental stress and emotional trauma and makes it much worse. I am so glad Demi is doing much better.
It's understandable that Disney wants to control the kind of imagine they project and want their Disney kids to present themselves as positive role models on and off the camera. However, the parents of these kids that are signing these contracts need to be careful that they're not locking their kids into a years-long deal that they'll want to separate themselves from as they get older. Then again, these money-hungry parents many times care more about the paycheck than their own child.
All companies have "bad press /controversies"Nothing wrong with a company protecting their image! You can't say it's only Disney Plus, Miley at 15 taking that kind of photo!!!! never should have happened!!! TY Disney for being against sexuallizing kids!! Demi Lavato's Friend was trying to help her and she attacked her...... Lavato was in the wrong.
Didn’t The sweet life of Zack and Cody do something similar with eating disorders when Maddie and London tried to fit into their dresses for the Tipton fashion show? They never got called out for it. But this was back in like early 2000’s.
"Thankfully Lovato has been very open about her struggles, making her one of the most inspiring figures that the house of mouse has ever helped put on the map" Ms Mojo 2020 (One year later...) Um.... yeah, about that...
There was an episode of "The Suite Life of Zack & Cody" that sparked controversy. In the season one episode "Smart & Smarter", Zack lies about being dyslexic in order to get more time on his homework and tests. He's eventually caught in his lie and apologizes. However, the episode stopped getting aired as a rerun when it was deemed insensitive to kids with learning disabilities. It's not even available for viewing on Disney+
Thier was an episode of Hannah Montana called “No sugar” that was banned do to it being about diabetes and it outraged parents , Hannah Montana caused a lot of controversy
Jessie had the worst jokes. Literally forced Karan to have an Indian accent and made fun of Emma for having acne. Not to mention Agatha was the "ugly" character because she had a mole and crooked teeth.
Emme Oliver IKR it’s awful. It hasn’t aged well. The jokes are insensitive, the characters are unlikable and there is a lot of racist stereotypes. There are many Disney Channel shows that are better- like Good Luck Charlie and Austin and Ally.
0:23 Fine, they're won't be any Radio Disney RUMORS at all anyway, Lindsay. 1:38 Don't worry, Colby. Sorry, Peyton. I guess me and Milo are feeling bad for you. 9:39 Vanessa Hudgens and the High School No-More Musical. 11:10 Demi Lovato: Sonny With Not Another Chance. Sorry, Demi.
Vanessa's tone with what she said a few months ago was very bad, indeed, but I can tell she did learn her lesson. You see her presence online and she's all about everyone, including herself, being safe. As long as she changes that behavior, which apparently she has, everything's okay-ish.
Also another honorable mention is olive's alright episode of hannah montana where the plot was that oliver had diabetes it only aired 2-3 times before it was removed but I think that it is on disney+
Regarding the Vanessa Hudgens leak, I don't know why she was ever seen as anything but the victim. It was never stated that she was the one that leaked them and was stated that they were stolen.
The “yeah people might die” comment was stupid but Hudgens isn’t wrong either. Viruses aren’t alive, how we define ourselves and bacteria, and thus they don’t have to play by the same rules(they are like zombies - inactive until they reach a host then they switch on). The point being that viruses are very different to us and many infections only ended after people became immune to it and a third of the population had died.

I know the joke would probably fly above most kids' heads as she's such a minor character and a mean one at that (as you said, definitely not a role model) but you have to think about how kids and teens with actual eating disorders could feel after seeing that scene. Not to mention that other scene in So Random.
"Hey wall, look over there!"
Is this a predecessor of Jaida Essence Hall?
A wall in the Hall-way
YYYAAASSSSS
Lol 😂
👏 👏 👏 👏 👏 👏
Disney Channel has more controversies than Nickelodeon.
Facts
Tbf, I think Disney is more popular, so more controversies are discovered. I wasn’t really allowed to watch Nickelodeon when I was a kid because it was more mature, and I knew a bunch of kids in the same boat. We were all allowed to watch Disney, and even the most religious parents let us watch Wizards of Waverly Place and the Disney Halloween movies. Point being, more people watch Disney than Nick, meaning there’s more attention on them and their actors/actresses, meaning that more controversies come to light
Because more people care about Disney. Ariana is Nick's biggest star and she made it big after her Nick gig.
Nick have way more
I was born in 2002 and people and shows I’ve seen all of them grow into strange but adult people
I’m pretty sure Miley is doing okay even without that Walmart deal 😂
The fact that they dropped her for smoking weed in a state where it’s legal and now it’s becoming legal across the country is insane to me 🤦🏽♀️
Bruh when Demi said 11:48 " i remember thinking I'm about to beat this b up " i literally started rolling 😭😭🤣🤣
The departure of Jake Paul was the smartest venture Disney ever did!~! 😎😎
Vanessa Hudgens, absolutely, should not have had to apologize. Her personal life was violated.
Lmao their faces in the thumbnail. 😂😂😂 Shady as Hell
🤣🤣🤣
Disney died after Jessie ended tbh
yeah. its my 2bd favourite disney show. after thats so raven and good luck charlie
Completely disagree
Around or a little before 2007 is when they stopped being funny IMO. After 2007 things were rare to be enjoyable.
By the time Miley was 18 she had a hit TV show, hit movie, hit music album AND a 9 figure bank account. A lot of people spend their life in pursuit of just one of those. What is left for her? In a sense of speaking she has conquered the world.
I actually feel sorry for her.
Thank goodness I am not a Disney star because I swear like a sailor and I’m not censoring what I say
I’m surprised Lalaine from
“Lizzie McGuire” was not on here.
Roxie Rocks she was dealing with an addiction to Crystal Meth.
She wasn’t on the list because her legal problems took place after leaving Disney. This list is only for incidents that happened while the stars still worked for the company.
Roxie Rocks She wasn’t in the movie or some of the second season because she was working on other projects at the time, like the movie “You Wish”.
If Jake Paul can get a role, literally anyone could.
In the show Victorious (Which is technically Nickelodeon) they forced teenage Ariana Grande to dye her hair red so often that it permanently ruined her hair.
Dang I didn’t know that I knew she dye her hair In victorious but that’s screw up
I saw that Dan made her because he would've had 4 brunette main actresses. I never knew it ruined her hair
In my opinion Disney Channel died after Austin and Ally ended
I will never watch Geek Charming the same way ever again
I've never even seen the movie thank god for that
Y’all forget to put the cheetah girls’s kiely Williams’s song, THE SEX WAS SPECTACULAR 😂
🤣🤣🤣
😭😂😂😂😂😂😭
Gagging 😂😂😂
😂😂😂😂😂
Omg 😂
I heard about what happened to Sarah Hyland. It was horrific
Take a shot every time the narrator says "house of mouse"
Adrienne and Vanessa shouldn't have to apologize for someone leaking their pics. A lot of people said Adrienne leaked her own photos when other people said it was Kiely from the group and I think it was Kiely
I wouldn't be surprised if it was Kiely that leaked them.
The dad from Andi Mack disgusts me. As retired law enforcement I dealt with people like this often and I'm glad I got the chance to put people like him in prison.
It’s so u fair that the human body is controversial like it just shows how sexualised women and teen girls are :(
11:50 so that’s where the meme came from😭😭😭😂😂
Should’ve included Adam hicks because of his string of robberies
That happened after Zeke & Luther ended though.
@@mikeweber2024 they could have still added it like they did with Vanessa Hudgens.
im just glad i didnt see selena on this list
Me too, although she did have the Justin Bieber stuff
I mean she's had controversies, but none while representing Disney
me too
@@Chloe.Miller21 stop mentioning Justin Bieber in her life
Lexie D Selena was one of the only sane disney channel stars who didn’t go down the wrong path she’s a good girl
In the Hannah Montana clip, was that the girl that played Amy Duncan in Good Luck Charlie?
Yes.
Yes. 😁
One of my friends told me that Jake Paul was off Bizaardvark because on his TH-cam channel, he's been talking about what's happening next on Bizaardvark or something like that.
By the way, thanks for all the likes, it's the most I've ever gotten
Disney is like Nintendo... They are Extremely strict with their work.
We have a different term it's about those pesky Nintendo Ninja
As someone who loved Disney growing up, a lot of these are just so shocking and hard to believe
I'm shocked you didn't add that David Henry (from Wizards of Waverly Place) was caught with a loaded gun in his baggage at security in an airport
Whaaaat? Why did he have it
after he left the company i think
@@rumudinc3057 if i rember correct he lived in a visible carry state he probably forgot he had it on him
i never knew this, but i feel like i needed to. thank you so much ms mojo for always being there for me and helping me grow as a person. i got through my parents divorce bc of you xo
Some old Disney stars and Nickelodeon stars too have done tragically horrible things but then you had great romodels like Cameron Boyce striving for not only success but change too💖
Toyin Falade: It's going to be a year since Cameron died, I'm still in shock over it.
I can't believe it's almost been a year already...I really miss him. He was a true legend
There was also a scandal where nude pics leaked of the dad from wizards of waverly place.
Eww lol!
So Random: the most underrated show ever. PERIODT.
Greenflower aka Potato Child, I was speaking my opinion. I enjoyed watching the show growing up, sorry if you didn’t like it I guess.
nah it was so dumb.. swac is way better
uglyassannoyingtaurus that’s nice. Thank goodness that it’s my opinion 🤗🥰
@Flowerbloom I AGREE
I see Zendaya on thumbnail. I click.
are we shocked that they made this list
No
Nope but I’m sad andi Mack got cancelled
I'm glad the "salvia" incident made the list
“There’s nothing like a nude pic of a disney channel star”
I'm disappointed that Vanessa said such bizarre things about the virus. I don't think it's an _automatic_ death sentence since people have managed to recover from it but it is very dangerous and the deaths that it does cause should not be treated lightly. I am glad that she apologized though. And to be fair, from the clip in this video alone Vanessa didn't look like she was completely in her right mind...(not trying to excuse her words though).
Fun Fact: Adrienne Bailon came back to Disney appearing on Ravens Home
Not being able to act will definitely hold you back from getting more adult roles, Jake.
Of course Logan would show up, he likes that Disney Channel flow
I remember when a photo of Miley making fun of Asian eyes went viral. As an Asian American, it hurt me so much at the time and it made me realize that racism exists. When I look back at it, it still leaves a bitter taste because of how she handled the situation. I understand she was young but I thought she would at least understand the impact it had on her young fans. I was so upset that her apology was half-assed that I really didn't want to support her anymore. I was simply just disgusted.
Lemme get this straight, I lost Brady and Boomer as an iconic duo to a DUI?!
Number 1 the depiction of gaming culture on gamers guide to everything rip Cameron boyce
I only watched that show cuz of him not that it was good but cuz he was the only one carrying the weight of it
i dont think i watched it how was it (i dont have disneyxd)
I remember being so upset when they let Mitchell Musso go. I loved pair of Kings and watching them replace him out of nowhere really upset me back then.
Londsey Lohan is actually doing really well for herself now.
Never understood why a big company (not just Disney) makes jokes about mental struggles...
I believe Adrienne leaked her photos then and I still believe it now.
Some people are born with certain addictive tendencies and when put in the extremely stressful life of child stardom it triggers these tendencies and it's difficult to stop without help. When you add mental stress and emotional trauma and makes it much worse. I am so glad Demi is doing much better.
Mitchell’s DUI is the least problematic issue😂I’m still waiting to see if they are gonna mention Joe Joans smoking weed
Well Musso was also underaged when he got the DUI, so….
The clips that end of each number are very good at proving the point. Good job!
Nobody gonna talk about how they called Disney “The house of mouse”? Never heard it described that way
It's a Disney show. It was on Toon Disney
They used to do that a lot in the 90s
Anime Nerd here pointing out a Death Note jacket I totally missed at 2:43 O_0
I cackled when Jake Paul talked about wanting to do more serious acting
It's understandable that Disney wants to control the kind of imagine they project and want their Disney kids to present themselves as positive role models on and off the camera. However, the parents of these kids that are signing these contracts need to be careful that they're not locking their kids into a years-long deal that they'll want to separate themselves from as they get older. Then again, these money-hungry parents many times care more about the paycheck than their own child.
All companies have "bad press /controversies"Nothing wrong with a company protecting their image!
You can't say it's only Disney
Plus, Miley at 15 taking that kind of photo!!!! never should have happened!!! TY Disney for being against sexuallizing kids!!
Demi Lavato's Friend was trying to help her and she attacked her...... Lavato was in the wrong.
11:26 is that a deleted scene?? because i do not remember that scene at all..
Who's that knockin' at the House of Mouse? We're all knockin' at the House of Mouse
Avery the Cuban-American loved that show!
As someone who grew up with Stuck In the Middle, I find it amazing that no one ever talks about Ronni Hawk
Didn’t The sweet life of Zack and Cody do something similar with eating disorders when Maddie and London tried to fit into their dresses for the Tipton fashion show? They never got called out for it. But this was back in like early 2000’s.
But they talked about how damaging it was in the episode.
Baillon and Hudgens should have never had to apologize for leaked videos, and Disney erased Baillon too!
"Thankfully Lovato has been very open about her struggles, making her one of the most inspiring figures that the house of mouse has ever helped put on the map" Ms Mojo 2020
(One year later...) Um.... yeah, about that...
I remember that! Oliver ended up being the one to have diabetes. The title was "No sugar sugar" or something
... Lol That Eating Disorder line was funny though .
And what about the episode of Jessie that made fun of a kid with a gluten intolerance? Jessie and Shake It Up have both aged terribly in my opinion.
What hasn't aged bad in this sensitive era we cant even watch movies from 2015 lol
@Caleb Mayfield nobody does these days lol
Jessie had the worst jokes. Literally forced Karan to have an Indian accent and made fun of Emma for having acne. Not to mention Agatha was the "ugly" character because she had a mole and crooked teeth.
Emme Oliver IKR it’s awful. It hasn’t aged well. The jokes are insensitive, the characters are unlikable and there is a lot of racist stereotypes. There are many Disney Channel shows that are better- like Good Luck Charlie and Austin and Ally.
@@Anthonycheesman2024 wow you're so edgy and different
0:23 Fine, they're won't be any Radio Disney RUMORS at all anyway, Lindsay.
1:38 Don't worry, Colby. I too, don't feel BUBBLY about it either.
0:37 Shake It Up: Zendaya and Bella Thorne sets off Demi Lovato.
2:02 Hannah Montana: Miley's screaming trip to the Vanity Fair.
3:13 Bizzardvark: Jake Paul's social media, boxing, and Post-BIZZARDVARK.
4:35 The Cheetah Girls: Adrianne Bailon gets Tamed.
5:39 Geek Charming: One-Time Wonder, Matt Prokop.
6:32 Hannah Montana: Mitchell BUSTED-usso.
7:32 Hannah Montana: Miley's Smoking BANGER.
8:33 Andi Mack: Stoney West-no-moreland.
Zendaya is one of the best people to come out of Disney Channel 🥰
I agree ☝️
Regarding the Vanessa Hudgens leak, I don't know why she was ever seen as anything but the victim. It was never stated that she was the one that leaked them and was stated that they were stolen.
The “yeah people might die” comment was stupid but Hudgens isn’t wrong either. Viruses aren’t alive, how we define ourselves and bacteria, and thus they don’t have to play by the same rules(they are like zombies - inactive until they reach a host then they switch on). The point being that viruses are very different to us and many infections only ended after people became immune to it and a third of the population had died.
I remember the Vanessa Hudgens leak very well
