John hit the nail on the head! I live right over the border of Asheville-we got warnings…all the warnings-but we just didn’t trust their ‘chicken little’ warnings because they are most often wrong and this warning sounded exactly the same as all the others. And it was a hurricane, so far inland, in the middle of the forest. But we were wrong. And the damage has been devastating and so many lives have been lost.

John's point about checking a horse's gums to determine its health status reminded me of this phrase: "Don't look a gift horse in the mouth". It's kind of along the line of "beggars can't be choosers", but it essentially means that if someone is doing you a favor in your time of need, you should not complain about it. If your car breaks down and someone lets you borrow their smoke-stained beater, be grateful that you have some support and transportation!
Our home in Sanibel, FL is under a mandatory evacuation for Milton today. If the weather forecasts are correct, we’ll get 12 feet of surge water at my house tonight 😢 I turned on Nateland to escape reality for just a little bit, only to immediately hear about hurricanes - ha, that’s just my luck! First time I’ve skipped ahead in the podcast, as my heart just cannot take it today. Still love you guys though! ❤ #SanibelStrong #PrayersForFlorida
Katrina hit here, please listen and evacuate as soon as possible. The storm serge was 26 feet here and wiped out the entire Gulf Coast. No one can rescue you once it starts.
My husband and I love your podcast! So much so my husband names his Diablo characters after Breakfast's many names such as Breakfast and Brunch. I have a great coffee, whipped cream, cup story. I ordered Dunkin iced coffee through the app for drive thru and they handed me my coffee and with it they handed me a packet. I was excited I thought I won something! I read it and I said to the employee "thanks for my...ketchup?" And the employee told me that it was what I ordered. I'm still convinced to this day it was a prank and it was a dare by one of the employees because they were all so awkward about it. 🤣 And it made me think of Nate's coffee, whipped cream cup! We love you guys! Thanks for being clean and something we can have on all of the time.
"Go get 'Gluestick'" had me laughing so hard, I was getting concerned looks from other drivers. The underappreciated genius of Butkus at his absolute best!

Brian had control of the laptop for the first handful of episodes before Aaron took it over. It’s for efficiency & everyone’s sanity that Aaron normally runs the technology 😂❤️
My cousin is Dale Jarrett. My grandma had a life size cardboard cutout of him in her room while I was growing up. If I went into her room, I’d suddenly see the silhouette of a grown man by her bedside and I’d gasp like Aaron seeing an iPhone for the first time. (Not to mention that we also sold his merch at every family reunion even though he never showed up.)
I learned from a podcast my son was listening to that the reason storms started getting named after people was from an Australian meteorologist in 1890. He didn't choose names based on a system; he simply named storms after politicians he disliked. And THAT was one of the greatest things I’ve heard all day!
I think cross country NIL is a great idea! If you’ve never ran xc it’s difficult to understand how much fun it can be. Usually a team fields 7 runners, with 5 of those runners scoring points and 2 trying to bump up the score of other teams. Points are scored for each finishing position (1st place=1 point, 2nd place=2 points, etc). Team with the lowest score wins. When state or national championships are on the line, every position matters and people go nuts cheering on their runners. Definitely need to get Nateland involved with XC NIL.
@@Josh_Stringer for me he's just not very entertaining , outside of being part of the go jackets moment. I think he tries to command the conversation too much in a way that doesn't really progress the pod.

As a big fan of f1 I can say they don’t have air conditioning in the cars. In particularly hot races they will wear cooling vests before and after races but in the car all they have water to drink. Some of the hottest races like Singapore, drivers are sweating so much they can lose up to 9 pounds in the two hours they are racing. These drivers are high performance athletes that have to train everyday so that they can stay in weight and be able to withstand the G force of going around the circuits. If you ever notice their necks are very large and disproportionate to their body it’s because they train them so much to be able to keep their heads up during corners. 1:51:47
