I was summoned to jury duty in downtown Portland for a 6 week trial. On the summons they recommended we take public transportation to avoid issues with parking near the courthouse. When I arrived I was informed the trial was for a man who stabbed people on public transportation. I was not selected, but I definitely did not enjoy the ride back home on the MAX line. This episode was great! Thank you for all the laughs, y’all are the best! 👍🏻 Go Jackets
Nate talking about rolling into church late reminded me of a time when our family of nine arrived at revival service to hear a visiting preacher who was friends with my dad. The congregation was already singing when we arrived. Assuming we were a few minutes late, the nine of us proceeded to the only pew where we could all fit-the front row, of course-with all eyes watching us. When the song ended, the preacher called on my daddy to say the benediction. The service had begun an hour earlier.
Having a new ad about pest control without Dusty present felt like a slap in the face to his pest control career. Ants can’t hide from Pestie…? Keep up the good work fellas!
Aaron talking about Krispy Kreme giving out a donut per A on a report card reminded me of Pizza Hut having the Book It award, which is where if you read a certain number of books over summer break they would give you a personal pan pizza. I loved it. I still have my Book It medal on my shelf in my office.
Bates is absolutely hilarious. He has some very slept on jokes which the other members of the pod fail to acknowledge. And Bates has a lot of good points during many discussions. Aaron and Nate are unfairly harsh to him. Bates is my favorite member of the pod
Came here from a TikTok clip of the donut bit, so am new to the pod and gotta say, it’s funny seeing that this dynamic is present here (one guy who’s kind of the outsider/runt of the group, but certain fans swear they’re gold). So many successful pods/shows with engaged fanbases have this dynamic. Forming a theory that it’s actually super engaging and good for building fandom. There’s in-groups and out-groups, and people in each think the other are wrong. I’m on a bender, but it’s fascinating to me right now. Wonder if these “social dynamics” of popular pods are being studied, and if there’s non-obvious dynamics like the “runt” that actually move the needle. Edit: through the bulk of this episode and this guy is a goober. Get the vibe that Nate legit doesn’t respect him? I’m intrigued either way, and kind of want to know more, which lends credence to the theory. It’s car crash-esque, will he embarrass himself even worse this ep? Will he have a zinger? Are they getting truly sick of him and think they need to remove him from the show? I think it adds an aspect that is prevalent in a lot of friend groups, and prob helps with the parasocial aspect of being a fan of a group of dudes hanging out/shooting the shit together. Every group has a runt. Also is he the guy who does the prep sheet? Any guy who wants to be on mic/cam and still has the task of the prep sheet has to be the runt 9 times out of 10
This was the BEST show ever! Like watching teenage boys hanging out in their clubhouse. All the laughter and poking fun at each other…..Fantastic. You all are the best!

Got to meet Aaron at the Yee Haw Hee Haw Fest in Billings MT! I literally gasped when he walked into the bar. It may have been a tough crowd but it was one of the best nights out we’ve had since we moved here! This was our second time seeing Aaron perform, first was in Nashville at the Grand Ol Opry in 2021. Thank you Aaron! If it weren’t for my husband being a normal person, willing to walk up and say hi, I would have never gotten to meet you!
Keep it this way! I like the look of Nate, Brian, Aaron, and Dusty, left to right. I can handle the wider table. Looks great!!! My brain is happy now ❤
Anxiously waiting for Dusty's return so we can listen to his confusion about the changes made at the desk. Love the podcast, keep the good times rolling!

Aaron’s high school photo looks like every bully from 90s kids’ movies. In fact, Dusty’s photo looks like his lippy sidekick, Brian’s looks like his victim and Nate’s looks like the main character that finally stands up to them.
I worked as an intern at my local radio station and was cutting a commercial that had a lot of "p" words. The owner of the station accused me of "popping my peas". I said "I haven't been eating in here," and they all laughed at me. If only I had Aaron land to teach me plosive I wouldn't have felt so dumb!
My funniest memory of being in a mall as as a teenager….my Granny and I walked into a Limited Express store and immediately my Granny said, “Whew, I can tell by the music nothing fits me in here!” 😂 For the record, Ace of Base was playing 🎶
Matt McCraw - Great episode! I’ve already listened to the “Best-Of” episode twice. John is my favorite fill-in for Dusty, as I feel he brings out the feistier side of Nate. And I did think Brian’s “no shame” comment to John deserved more attention 😆 congrats on the new studio and keep being funny. Go jackets
As a professional musician, everyone in my network is well aware of what plosives are. I don’t wanna make Nate’s head spin, but there’s also a term for when words have lots of “s”, “z”, or “ch” sounds called, “sibilance”. These terms are actually very practical when it comes to EQ’ing vocals because they signify a specific frequency range generally associated with those consonants.
How can they miss that Aaron’s senior picture looks just lile Angus T. Jones from Two and a half men, spitting image. Love your show! Keep up the great work.
What an episode. Huge laughs all the way through, SO funny! Love the Jordan Creek Mall (in Des Moines) shout-out. We love our Scheels! Hopefully Dusty visits it when he comes to town in November
Just got tickets to see Aaron in Lexington, KY this weekend and going to grab some to see Dusty in September in KY. Hope to see Nate and Brian one day as well.
Nate, your career has positively blown up and you deserve every bit of it! ADDITIONALLY, your success somehow makes me feel that this country is still at its core the country that I have known and loved for as long as I can remember which is most of 65 years. Your appeal seems ubiquitous. This was proved by your triumph at SNL One might have thought this was not possible with a 'clean' comedian, but they would be wrong. The majority of the country doesn't want crazy on either side of the divide, just normal. Forgive if you feel that I am exaggerating or putting you in a position that is uncomfortable. I realize that at the end of the day, your success is because you are very very funny but it also means more to me. I say thank you!

Always great to hear an Anthony Edwards shout-out! He does say things that I have to look up. He talks about people being SAC. That means Solid As Concrete.
It's always great to hear an Anthony Edwards shout-out! He does say things that I have to look up. He talks about people being SAC. That means Solid As Concrete. I'll go proofread this now.
I’ve felt like this show hasn’t been as good the last few weeks/months (maybe it was me) and I was considering not listening anymore. but I think the new set has brought a lot of energy back to the show! Everyone seems so much more fun and happy again. I’m loving it and here to stay!!
My parents taught me how to tie my shoes the “regular” way. When I was about 4 or 5, one of my little friends at preschool or kindergarten taught me how to do the “bunny ears”, and I’ve tied them that way ever since, and I’m in my 50s. Peer pressure’s real.
As a musician I learned about plosive sounds when recording for the first time. We use pop-filters to tone down the plosive sounds or "pops" when singing.
Speech therapist here. English has six plosives or “stops” : p, b, t, d, k, and g. These types of sounds are made by a constriction in the vocal tract which stops airflow
As you are talking about the family riding in separate planes, it reminds me of the conversation about Brunos grocery stores a few weeks ago. That's what happened to Brunos, all of the executives were on one plane that went down, and they had to close, because no one was able to keep them going.
Rhett Jackson here - My wife tells me that if I wore a fashion trend when it was new (bell bottoms, Checkerboard Vans) then I’m NOT allowed to wear it when it comes back into fashion.
Our church has 3 meetings scheduled. One at 9am, one at 10:30, and one at 12pm. They overlap too. So some are in the chapel while others are in their classes.
I had jury duty years ago in a hicktown in TN. I was juror #7. It was about dirt car racing! The guy tried to hit a competitor by going into the crowd with the car, hit a kid, who was Lifelighted to Vandy and injured the intended guy! It was "bananas." Lol A week long trial, longest in many years in that county, and we found the guy guilty. I had to be the one to stand up and say in deliberation, "We ARE talking about a guy TRYING to hurt people with a racecar!" The guy was found guilty and served time. I was with John. This was my CIVIL DUTY!! Dang it! I took it seriously!!! I did have to call my husband and say....meet me at this place, cause this is gonna get BAD!!! I need to get out of Dodge!!"😂😂

I attend church and listen to Nate like this to do the toll if you go to church
50% of the Nateland listeners are good, God fearing Christians, the other 50% are John Crist fans. Love the show and the energy in the new studio
I'm neither though; so where do I sit?

That was a great show! I continually enjoy the podcast, but that reminded me of your first days when you were stuck at home and couldn't do comedy anywhere. I think having the studio in a club is genius and it's really helping you guys harness your energy
Nate, I'm so excited to see you in Halifax this Friday! This podcast was fantastic! 😂😂😂
Yay! Can’t wait for Aaron’s special to come out! 🎉
OMG! "Bates is 8 people removed from running the state of Tennessee"! 😂
Thanks for your shout out to West DesMoines IA Nate and our Jordan Creek Mall.
The podcaster thing had me in tears 😂😂😂
Always great to hear an Anthony Edwards shout-out! He does say things that I have to look up. He talks about people being SAC. That means Solid As Concrete.
I picture Eric carrying Nate in one of those baby bjorn on his back lol.
Psyched to watch Aaron's special. As a fan living in South Africa, I can't believe I'll actually get to see that sweat towel in action.
Always fun to watch John with the gang.
I hope we get a Pestie ad read from Dusty lol

I'll go proofread this now.
Thank you😂😂😂😂 You guys make me laugh so hard😂😂😂😂
No one acknowledged Aaron's "It was BUSSIN" line at 1:28 but I was rolling 😂
That was a great episode!!
I’ve felt like this show hasn’t been as good the last few weeks/months (maybe it was me) and I was considering not listening anymore. but I think the new set has brought a lot of energy back to the show! Everyone seems so much more fun and happy again. I’m loving it and here to stay!!
LETS GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO! BEEN WAITING FOR AN AARON WEBER SPECIAL SINCE HIS GRAND OLE OPREY DEBUT.
Brian’s senior picture looks like he was in the righteous brothers singing group
My parents taught me how to tie my shoes the “regular” way. When I was about 4 or 5, one of my little friends at preschool or kindergarten taught me how to do the “bunny ears”, and I’ve tied them that way ever since, and I’m in my 50s. Peer pressure’s real.
I wanna see the signage: Nateland, Batesland, Dustyland, and Weberland! Come on guys, the four of you makes this podcast something special. Team up!
So today I learned the meaning of the word plosive. Today, it is likely the last day I will use this word. I’m with Nate on this one 😁
I love this show❤
As a musician I learned about plosive sounds when recording for the first time. We use pop-filters to tone down the plosive sounds or "pops" when singing.
I am a homeschool mom and I just learned a new vocabulary word today! 🎉
Didn’t know the New York Times and Wall Street Journal merged-thanks, Nate! 😂😂
Speech therapist here. English has six plosives or “stops” : p, b, t, d, k, and g. These types of sounds are made by a constriction in the vocal tract which stops airflow
I'm just here for the setup." 😂
As you are talking about the family riding in separate planes, it reminds me of the conversation about Brunos grocery stores a few weeks ago. That's what happened to Brunos, all of the executives were on one plane that went down, and they had to close, because no one was able to keep them going.
Huge improvement on the table. My first impression last week was a big sheet of plywood until the real table showed up.
Love the new table!!!
