Amahoro Stadium Kigali Rwanda | Rwanda's Largest Multipurpose Stadium

Welcome to Real JeRi! In this episode, we explore the incredible transformation happening at the Amahoro Stadium in Kigali, Rwanda. The largest stadium in the country, Amahoro Stadium is undergoing a major face-lift led by the Turkish firm SUMMA, with the goal of creating a world-class sports facility that meets international standards.
The renovations include expanding the seating capacity from 25,000 to 45,000, enhancing outer facilities such as Petit Stade for basketball and indoor games, the Paralympics gymnasium, parking and access roads, and the perimeter fence. The stadium will feature a hybrid playing surface, blending natural grass and artificial turf for extended durability.
Designed to host major athletics events, the stadium boasts an eight-lane running track that aligns with international standards. It will also have various amenities, including VVIP and VIP lounges, a well-equipped media area, and accessibility features such as elevators and specially designated seats for persons with disabilities.
The redevelopment project aims to create a year-round entertainment and leisure destination, with shops, restaurants, bars, and other commercial premises within the stadium. Additionally, the neighboring Petit Stade is being renovated to comply with international basketball and volleyball standards.
Rwanda's commitment to sports development extends beyond infrastructure, as the country has secured lucrative endorsement and sponsorship deals with global powerhouses like Arsenal and PSG. The new-look Amahoro Stadium will not only serve as a venue for sports events but also contribute to the overall economic sustainability of the region.
