    I love watching others repot because it’s very calming I find but I will be honest, I hate doing my own 😆

    Thanks for sharing, I do love a good reporting video. It was awesome to see all of that new root growth! I wanted to mention that in the last few videos I have noticed that the audio isn’t in sink with the visual. For example, in this video, I heard you blowing the water off of the plants before I saw you do it. It wasn’t so bad on this one because I couldn’t see your face while you were talking. I’m not sure if it’s an issue with TH-cam or something else...

      zeppypaige, sadly that’s a TH-cam issue... the playback not being in sync with the video, not something I can fix on my end. 😭. I’ve noticed it too, and usually when you stop, close the screen and reopen TH-cam it plays back better... but not always. They’ve been having quite a lot of glitches lately, and I hope they figure it out soon.
      But next time try exiting the video and reopening and see if that helps at all with things being in sync! 💓

    Your plants are really gorgeous!! I really want to see how your chinese dunce cap is doing. I'm also curious where you get your succulents from. I can't find a nursery near by that has them. I can only get them from lowes home depot and walmart. I buy all my aeoniums online though. Do you have a local nursery? And how much did you pay fo your greenovias? I really love your videos. :)

      Pink Sugar, I’ve gotten my succulents from all over the place. Many I’ve ordered from overseas, most have come from individuals selling part of an imported order, or a few of their collection. I’ve had some great experiences buying and some awful ones! I take a LOT of risks, with buying plants, and figure as long as loosing the money isn’t going to put us in a hole, then it’s ok if it ends up not being a reputable seller. And I know enough about most of these guys to be able to spot deals that are “too good to be true” or when the sellers aren’t knowledgeable so I don’t trust their care of the plants. So that’s really helped me avoid disasters. But I’ll admit once in a while I just take a risk even if I’m not sure! 😉 Sometimes it’s not great, but when it DOES pay off, I get some really cool plants! Mostly I import my rarer plants, or buy them in FB groups like “succulent marketplace USA” But its very hit or miss with the growers. I REALLY wish I could just point out guys to an awesome source where you can get all these, but until such a time as I find one, looking in FB groups and checking out the vendors and asking questions about how they ship/import to see if they are knowledgeable, is my best advice for finding some of the harder to find succulents you see in my collection! 💓

    Ashley when ordering large quantities of pumice do you suggest rinsing it before using??

    • @phileofarm1
      @phileofarm1  7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Marlene Frazier, I do recommend rinsing it, but it’s not a huge deal. The fine dust can settle into the crevices and kind of clog drainage a bit, but it’s still great when compared to store bought succulent soil etc. Some people sift their pumice to get it all even. And while uniform pieces provide the ideal environment for certain plants and conditions, and distribute/evaporate water most evenly etc. But it’s not “needed” particularly. But if you are wanting the best possible medium, then rinsing your pumice is a great idea, and sifting can be advantageous in certain situations!
      But pumice doesn’t have nearly as much fine dust as something like volcanic rock or scoria, so rinsing when you are adding it to a soil mixture really isn’t necessary, nor is sifting. But if you are using it on its own, or with another medium that is a specific size, it can be helpful to rinse or sift in those cases.
