Love your Kaweco collection!! These things multiply like rabbits, don't they, and you don't even know it's going on. I think they order themselves! They are also the first thing you reach for if you have any of them inked up because they are so easy to use. Can't go wrong unless you flat don't like pocket pens.
I have the same same pen case and it is also full of Kaweco Sports, Skylines & a single AL Sport. Kaweco comes out with so many colours that there is no overlap between our collections. Great video. These little Kawecos are one of my favourite pens.
Thanks for the review. I have a great fondness for the kaweco sport. Have you tried one of the vintage piston fillers? Polar Glow is such a great color- especially on endless regalia. That paper is magical! If you don't like having inky fingers Lava soap will take just about any ink off of your hands very quickly. Not sure about waterproof/permanent inks as I don't use any of them. I'm terrified of ink spills enough as it is without that extra layer of doom added to the parfait. Cheers!
I too am a Kaweco fan and was gifted the 14 slot pen case from Galen Leather and the EDC wallet for my birthday this year. I will search for the viedo you mentioned on your entire collection of Kaweco’s. Thanks for sharing.
I really enjoy my Kaweco Sports. I have 6, and only 1 had a poor nib. It was an EF with tines so tight I couldn't floss them no matter what I did, and it wrote dry to sometimes no ink at all, so I got a replacement M nib, and it's been great ever since. Thanks for the follow up video.
I like mine too, although I ink up each new one with trepidation, not knowing what the nib will be like. I 've had to do some amateur nib tuning on the Sport more often than not. A few have been great out of the box, which is what I hope for every time. I have fine, medium, broad and double broad nibs.
I don't know if I should be embarrassed or not. My tenth Kaweco Sport pen is on it's way to me (Skyline Sport in Macchiato). I don't own an AL Sport, but I do have a Steel Sport and want a Brass Sport, and I do want a Raw Aluminum AL Sport. As I carry mine in my shirt pocket, all of mine have clips. As far as letting them go, save the colors you want most, and swap one of each nib into those. The nibs are relatively easy to swap.
I recently bought my first kaweco sport fountain pen in mellow blue, after owning a frosted coconut and a clear body in the rollerball (which I didn’t like), and now I feel like I finally understand the obsession. I got mine in an F nib and it writes perfectly. I tried out the kaweco student pen in 70’s soul before buying the sport and honestly I would say the sport writes ten times better, although the student was great (in an M nib by the way, which I found a little too thick for my taste). I’m already planning my what my next 5 colours of sport will be 😅
I bought a coule of Kaweco Sports in August; one is for a Christmas present, and one is always in my back pack for daily use as needed. Mine is a fine nib, and gets used for shopping lists, notes, and often at work too, where I have other fountain pens. I admit to being curious about the brass version, and I'd like to try the double-broad nib.
Does polar dry faster than nitrogen? Love the sheen but hate how nitrogen NEVER dries lol. Also, have you checked out the kaweco sport semiflex nib from fpnibs? Just got one last night and it is super rad!
I’d had a Kaweco sport (aluminium finish) for a year. Only recently had an ink flow problem. I don’t refill old cartridges. Thanks to a TH-cam channel (Down The Breather Hole). I rectified by rinsing the nib and feed with distilled water. Easily the best fountain pen I’ve owned.
What was it that you did to modify the nib? Interested because I have a pen that was writing great and then started getting dry and scratchy even with a new ink cartridge. Also where'd you get that cool storage binder? ... P.S. Nothing wrong with having a bunch of pens if they bring you joy.
I love my Sports! I have a Classic, a Skyline (my favourite) and an Ice. I still want a vintage V, a Steel Sport, and the new piston Sport that Michael Gutbelert promised would come this year (but I'm not expecting till Summer 23 at the earliest). I've bought a total of five nibs - all Medium (don't judge me) - and all have been excellent, though the M is a tad fine for my tastes.
im looking into their sport rollers...i would usually close of the video when i would see i opened another fountain video. but your voice and your collection got me to stay :P
Great review and collection. You mentioned you prefer the plastic, why is that? I’m not a fan of how metal pens feel so I’m not sure I could ever bring myself to purchase an AL unless the price was right.
First comment! Love it Kerry. Thank you for reviewing the Kaweco sport fountain pen. I am currently looking for different versions for my pocket alternatives when I am writing books out in the wild or in the garden.
I’ve got 5 at the moment and am curious to know if you find the same nibs to feel different in the metal pens (Al Sport, Brass Sport, etc.) compared to in the plastic bodies. I favour the feel of the nibs when In the metal bodies. They just feel really solid in there - I find it a bit hard to explain. I do love some of the colours of the plastic ones (my Dark Olive and Cyan “collections” ones look beautiful), but my Brass Sport with 1.1 italic is my current favourite (inked with Iroshizuku Syo-ro which I love watching go from blueish to greenish as it dries). I also have an Al Sport which, once I decide on a nib fine or extra fine so I can write on almost any paper, will go with me everywhere. While I love the Brass the aluminium body weighs less, and feels like almost nothing even when in the leather pen sleeve I made for it. Ive also got a black one that I bought for the nib (the 1.1 that’s now in the Brass), and I’m considering trying to turn it into a raden pen with an abalone shell that I think I still have laying around and some (not urushi) lacquer - but we shall see about that! Anyway, sorry for the long comment but thanks for the video.
Great video. Can i ask you something that is bother me. I recently bought a kaveco sport bronze and i found tha the insignia at the cap is playing slightly when i put it on the pen. It feels like it's a little loose. Does any sport of yours does it ? Thanks in advance.
Hi there and happy new year 2024! 😊 Do you know of any cartridge longer than the universal standard 38 mm long that fits this fountain pen? The capacity of the standard short ones (38 mm) is quite little.
It’s fun you love a certain fountain pen, but I do not understand a love for the kaweco Sport. But I personally love the Aurora Ipsilon and my super favorite fountain pen of all is the Cross Townsend. I fight to not get many of those pens.
I agree with you if it is $-$$$$ Do your best with the nibs.. It would be cool if they had gold nibs. That would be funny. I have one of the teal resins coming in broad. Can't wait to see how it writes
Considering you have options, why would you show a review of this pen using a modified one? Are they all modified? Sorry, new to the channel and this is the first vid I clicked on searching for these.
Anytime I do original reviews the nibs are not modified but the “years later” series is what I’ve done to them and how I like them after I’ve had them for a long time. Some of those I have modified to suit my own person preferences and Kaweco pens are usually the ones I’ll make writer wetter.
@@PensandTea Making this clear in the video would be helpful. As is it just seemed unfocused and it was hard to discern how the pen had actually held up etc over the years.
Great pocket pen and you can take this pen anywhere as you should. But somehow this pen feels overpriced and a bit flimsy. My sport however has a good nib, smooth and sufficiently wet. Also looks good.
I saw a video the other day where she showed how. If I'm not mistaken she takes of the steel nib and on the plastic feed where the ink flows through, she runs an exacto knife, VERY CAREFULLY AND LIGHTLY. Puts it back together and voila

I finally handled a Kaweko Sport at a pen show, and yes, it came home with me! Now I can understand why you like them so much!
I can't wait for the piston sport to make a come back in the future if and whenever that will be.
Thanks for the review. I have a great fondness for the kaweco sport. Have you tried one of the vintage piston fillers?

I love my Kawecos also! My OCD is color so they feed that passion very well! I do prefer the aluminum but the right color will get me every time!

I have 2 iridescent pearls in F & EF and love them both. I’d love them even more if they had a silky snap cap like the prera 😂
Amazing collection. I love the wetness of your nib. I'm waiting on my first Kaweco Sport with a 1.1 nib.

I have a pile of Sports. Kind of addictive.

Just ordered this Coconut version and I hope it works well out of the box!

Your pen case is really nice! I love quality leather bag & cache bags.

The capacity of the standard short ones (38 mm) is quite little.
If they made a really nice flex nib for this pens they'd never sell their other pens.
The golden espresso still available? I’d love to take it off your hands :)

just jointed.. love your videos.. just getting in to fountain pens.. it appears it's quite the journey
Great collection 👍
My first and only Kaweco had a terrible nib. I bought a replacement, and it too was practically unusable. I threw the whole lot away.
I wish there was any way to get a cognac kaweco in 2023 💕
How on earth do you modify a pen to be more wet?
If you ever decide to sell the golden espresso please let me know I’d greatly appreciate it thank you 😊
Great vid! Thanks!

I sm not a fan of pocket pens but love your ideas and reviews
'[kaweco's quality control] they're getting better'
The person who got no nib slit be like: 👁👄👁

@@PensandTea ahh, thanks for clarifying! I figured I was doing something wrong.

Very nice >>>>>> Thank you .
I personally don't like the branding on the pen cap
They should've made it smaller something like a logo
I am willing to take that Golden Espresso off of your hands! 😂
My white one scratches and stains easily. It looks rough after 2 years in my pocket
I expect their quality control will improve as the pandemic winds down.

How do you keep it wet like that..do you have a video?
could i get it from you
Itty bitty pens. I have a Brass Sport, and its way too heavy for me.
Wow to many pens 😢 bloody hell
Oops.. i have 58 of them… then i start to think i have a problem since you keep saying “you have a lot”..
Teach me how to make a wetter writer!!! Please
😇🩵🙏🙌
