This is one of the more detailed and emotional homes I've had the chance to explore and document. Definitely an interesting story and location here, with all the contents left in the place as well. I enjoyed this place, let me know if you did by letting me know your favorite part / room or anything! Thanks for watching guys !

The home tells the story. He was from the UK with no family in the states to leave the home and its belongings to. Can tell he was elderly from the walker, his clothing kept on the 1st floor and classic elderly hoarding. I’d bet he passed away in the hospital with no last will and testament. He was simply forgotten. Sad.

This happens often, that is why both American and Japan both have over 10 million abandoned properties making them the two most abandoned countries in the world.
Japan is worse because of the density and land size.

When looking at the keys in the drawer at the 8min mark there is a business card with a phone number and if you google the phone number its leads to another abandoned place called the Grandview Palace condos in Liberty NY, it used to be called the Brown's Hotel (Catskills) and it burnt in 2012 there are a couple of urbex TH-cam vids of Brown's Hotel worth watching.

Great episode and find. One note: Those 'letters' from the Obamas aren't personal. They're part of a mailing list to donors who gave over a certain amount. I recognize them because I've seen them both...my dad has them (and more) from where he donated during Obama's first and second term. You'd find the same things from the Bush family to those who contributed to Bush's campaign, etc. Those aren't hand signed...just facsimile (printed) signatures. So the headline suggesting that he was an employee of the White House isn't just a little off, it's definitely not accurate.
Again, still a great episode, just really off in terms of referring to him as a White House employee.

I believe that the owner of this house has had a good life - and certainly an interesting one, rich in experiences, as travel and knowledge of languages are very enriching. The moment you opened the photo album of the house cracked me up. You can see that the man loved this house and put a lot of heart into creating it, hence these before and after renovation photos - the progress has pleased him greatly. It's depressing that today, after a few years, this beloved house of his is reverting back to the state it was in before the owner's actions; it's as if it's coming full circle of its lifespan - from zero to tremendous progression, the glory years, and then it's an even keel and it's heading towards a house in need of renovation again, which is simply passing away - just as its caretaker's life has passed. The man blogged it so that the world would know it - and now, thanks to you, the world knows it - I, for example, am now watching it from Poland. This is probably not what the man expected - you are doing him a nice favour.

If it was me I’d be reporting the house due to the gun’s I wouldn’t want kids to go in there pick up the shot gun load it up and possibly hit one of their friends

The "film reels"are called negatives. When you got your film developed they gave you the negatives with your photos . If you ever wanted more copies of your photos you would give them the negatives to make copies from.

Hopefully you put the guns in the gun safe. Just saying. I love the way you pronounce dachshund. It’s docsun. You thought the camcorder was big-a family member had one that the vhs tape recorder was separate ( on a shoulder strap) & it connected to the huge camera(that he held on his shoulder)😂. Stay safe

What's scary is the abandoned fire arms that kids can run across. You should report them to the local police station so that at least they don't end up in the wrong hands. We have enough of that in this day and age. Otherwise it's really sad when people pass without family I had a neighbor years ago that was like that. He at least had alot of great friends that took care of his belongings and he had a lawyer who took care of everything. I just watched his house until probate ended.
