Michael represents Pacific Cross medical insurance, it comes with many exceptions for existing conditions and specific hospitals, and you pay up front then get reimbursed IF its covered
Hey Britt, if I may make a suggestion. If/when you have quests, adding their links (when applicable) for contact in the description would be really helpful.
Good video Britt. Insurance is a tough one, so many guys just risk going w/o it to save money. They claim they are self insuring but many do not have the cash to pay for a major health issue. If a person is just scraping by, they won't have enough money for insurance payments nor enough to save up a self insurance fund.
@BrittMcalister, thanks for this video! I wrestle with this as I'm getting ready to move! I'll get some kind of insurance! But to my knowledge it's almost a waste! As most hospitals don't take insurance. So I see it as a hostel to have insurance but I don't have cash for self-insured! But scared to travel without it. Even though I'm in excellent health at 72, I'm blessed! Give my glory to God!
@@bradleymiller7375 Hi Bradley, you have been to hospitals that did not accept Pacific Cross...that was on the list of associated hospitals and clinics on their website?
Hey Britt. I apologize for attaching this comment to another commenters comment but for some reason my comment bar wouldn't come up. This is a great topic and one that will be important for me when I make the move to the Philippines. Only thing I would say is that some of the things this Gentlemen was saying I could not understand his exact words. Could you provide us with a link in your description to contact this person or a representative of his company. Thanks alot. I appreciate you!👍
Enjoying your videos Britt just the information I need as l I would like to visit the Philippines next month for recon. I would like to spend a few years there maybe longer.
Thanks Britt for the vid - covering important 'real life' topics is appreciated. Medicare does 'not' cover U.S. citizens outside U.S. which is a bummer - you would think it would but the U.S. government says No. So Pacific Cross is a major insurer for PHI. Another obvious is that if you are in PHI you need to REALLY check/inquire on good doctors there. The reality is that there are those who are 'not' good which is disappointing, but true. I have heard the hospitals in the bigger cities are best to go to - sometimes this is a matter of life and death - so a foreigner in PHI really needs to do the homework and find out 'best' hospitals and 'best' doctors etc. - make a list. Check it twice. Thanks Britt !
$350 for colonoscopy is cheap compared to the US but with insurance covering it I pay $0. So that $350/12 months is $29. $60 for teeth cleaning is close to what it is in America. I think things are cheaper there because of quality of care. I think the major difference is the drug costs. They are so cheap any where other than Europe and America.
Today I went Medical City Clinic located at Central Bloc, IT Park (Outstanding Service) for an Upper Respiratory situation. 1. 600 PHP for a in depth consultation. 2. Chest x-ray 300 PHP. I received a script for a Z-Pack (5 pieces) that I got filled at Rose Pharmacy for 600 PHP. Also, the physician wrote 2 more scripts for me unrelated to this visit.
Hello Britt. I love and appreciate your videos. My wife and I are at the beginning of our search for some place to retire. We are 52 and 51. My question to you, is this... what is it like in the Philippines for Married Couples? It would be nice if you could interview a married couple. Keep up the good work!
@@BrittMcalister Also, it would be nice if you listed a contact email address in you about section. (Maybe not your primary email address as you probably don't want to give that out, but maybe create an email account just for the channel?
Hi great content, but you neglected to give the contact info. to the gentleman from the Insurance provider. Most add contact info. So to be able to contact or ask questions. Just helping you for your future video. Good luck 👍
Hospitals in big City like Metro-Manila, Cebu have hospitals that are in par even better than in some hospitals in the US. Example is St Luke in BGC, Makati Medical Center etc. That's why it can be an issue if you are retiring in the province with a medical issue.
