Depends on the base humidity and how much humidity you need. Just add some and then watch how long it lasts. I wouldn't add too much at the beginning

I am having trouble stabizing the humidity. How much water do I put in. I find that I put very very little water to keep it around 55 to 60. But like that the water does not last . I am trying to incubate canary eggs

Yeah the humidity can be a bit a challenge. Of course, depends a lot on the environment where you're using it. Best is to have it where there's no sun and wind ...

I started my working carrer as a poultry hand omg... on a breeding section, many sheds picking up 1000's of eggs a day by hand. I then progressed to rearing section omfg.. working hard there... never again lol

@@allcheckout you would have no idea, on debeaking and vaccination days, a shed with approx 5000 - 8000 and only me and my partner had to set up a catching cage in the middle of the shed, hunt all the chickens to the back half of the shed, while the vaccinator and debeaking (hot knife) was set up, me and my helper had to hunt up a catching cage full of chickens ready to catch, we would hand pick 5 at a time , we would then hold 1 wing up so the vaccinator could jab the chicken with the vaccine, then hand the the handfull of chickens to the debeaker, he would chop off half the beak. Chickens are cruel to eachother, if one starts to bleed from a fight they are attacked until they are dead, so the pointy sharp beak was trimmed so they could not cause damage to each other. they were big days looking after 7 shed fulls of chickens. Yes, lots of knee bending, my knees are still good and my back is still reasonable. Today , I make demineralised water for a smelter, sit on my arse and click buttons lol, until a unit needs regenerating, thing I have to dilute caustic and sulphuric acid to recharge the resins to remove the ions from town water, fun fun fun.

Just add a little water to the tray. If you see condensation on the lid, you're good.
