@2:58 the hormone is called CCK (cholecystokinin) which causes the stomach to reduce it's motility while the pancreas injects enzymes in the small intestine, and causes the gallbladder to squeeze so to empty its contents into the small intestine. Bile helps to emulsify fats; in other words, it helps to partition large into small much like chopping a a log into smaller pieces.

having lost my gallbladder, i can remember cck tests making me really nauseated and being quite painful. the good news is that the side effects wear off in a few minutes and you get results pretty fast on what the next steps to get you well will include.

Everyone should know that this test doesnt exactly mimic gallbladder function under food load as it moves in the stomach passing into small intestine (gallbladder is hopefully activated to release bile on time and enough and in good quality) so even if this test shows "good" it isnt always fully diagnostic to what is amiss in your system and with your gall bladder as it functions with your meal digestion.
So if the doctor says nothing is wrong but you feel there is, keep pursuing your answers.
In general, dont eat within 3 to 4 hours of bedtime for better, more full digestion and comfort and to be nice to your organs, system and sleep. Like in the old days, eat dinner at 6 pm (effective time depending on your schedule), don't snack after... If you can swing it. Go to sleep at a regular time, wake up at a regular time. Eat for nutrition. Your microbiome is important too. So while some claim they do not need fiber, your colon biome might, as one example. Also fat and dietary cholesterol are not the enemy. Neither are carbs in green leafy vegetables, colorful veggies and low glycemic fruits.

I’m very interested to know, is it common with things like bilary dyskinesia without gallstones for all other imaging to show as normal, but then have an abnormal HIDA scan results showing issues with the gallbladder? As I’m in this position, 4 years I’ve suffered with severe abdominal pain, one minute is bearable the next it’s severe cramps, they start within 20 mins of eating, if that’s a fatty meal it’s 100 times worse, I also get MAJOR flatulence after eating, bloating, nausea, loose floating stools & BAD pain and ibs symptoms every morning. I’ve been gaslighted by doctors for 4 years saying it’s NOT my gallbladder as all my imaging (ct, mrcp & ultrasound) is ‘normal’ I’ve finally found a specialist gastroenterologist who thinks I have bilary dyskinesia & no gallstones. I would live to hear from anyone that also had normal imaging but a hida scan showed abnormal. I am desperate for answers and pray my hida scan shows an issue so I can have my gb removed. It’s got to the point I’ve thought about not carrying on anymore as I simply cannot live in this amount of pain. I already have an incurable brain condition, PSS and severe spine issues so I’m on high doses of opioid and even That only helps abit. Every single thing I eat causes pain, I live on a low fat diet now. Praying this scan will change my life 😢
