    Loved the report! Just started the game and have been really enjoying the competitive side of it. Apart from the green dragon podcast, your channel is probably the best when it comes to learning strategies & tactics. 🙌🏻
    A YT video suggestion: Play a competitive game & take a picture each turn of the map vertically from above. In the YT video, show these pictures one at a time to share your thoughts behind your decision-making. These thoughts could be split up into kind of a macro-level (e.g. why deploying more units to the left to apply more pressure there, your intentions of utilizing the terrain, how to play the tempo of your vs. The enemy army etc.) and a micro-level (e.g. why does hero A call a heroic move, why does spear guy X support front guy Y instead of front guy Z etc.). I think this would be quite novel in the MESBG content space and could teach a lot about the game :)
    Best from Groningen NL 🙋🏼‍♂️

      Thanks for the kind words!
      That's a great suggestion that I would love to implement one day, I may have to give it a good think how best to go about it first - it's always a challenge to gauge how deep into the tactics the audience want us to go! We tried to find a balance of that in our battle reports but doing a deep dive analysis could be very interesting to do.

    very well presented video, I was actually feeling nervous myself. I liked the graphics for the army lists and the battle report. Six large and tough battles in a row, to keep playing let alone winning must require a lot of mental concentration as you can't afford to make a mistake and need to keep pushing your positives. Although this army is new to you having played a lot there must be a lot of tactics that cover all the armies, do you ever feel you are on auto pilot.

    • @intothewestpodcast
      @intothewestpodcast  2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Thank you!
      Absolutely these games took a lot of mental concentration! There were a few moments in the first few games that I could go on autopilot a bit more after I felt secure of a victory, but I still tried to maximize my points so it still took more concentration than usual for sure!

    This is probably the best tournament report I have ever seen! (And I watch quite a few) Not much to improve on here. I love the breakdown of the tactics with the visuals. Don't know how good your editing team is but if you can continue to "polish" up the tactics breakdown you would be outclassing any other content out there. Again, really great video and great job on your performance!!

    That was a very insightful video. Thanks a lot and congratulations!
    I strongly consider playing a version of this list on my next 600p tournament (instead of Pits of Dol Guldur). Would you recommend simply downgrading the list by dropping a bat and a few orcs from your 650p version?
    And I would love to know why you chose to drop the ogre in the tournament-list. What role would it take in a 600p list? Would two bats perform better from your point of view?
    Or is your list not playable at 600p anymore - would you rather pivit to Pits then?

    • @intothewestpodcast
      @intothewestpodcast  หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Thank you!
      I'd downgrade the 650 list by dropping the Ogre and then adding an Orc so the numbers are the same. I think it would still work well (but no Narzug compared to my 750).
      The Ogre can be an extra threat and utility piece in theory but I found in most of my games he didn't end up doing too much. Too often his 3 attacks aren't even enough to win a fight, very rarely will he get his points back. 2 bats will almost always do more work.
      I like Pits but I also think my list works very well still too, my issue with Pits is that it's a bit more one-dimensensional (reliant on the Ambush and Azog going off), so it's harder to beat more experienced players who are looking out for that.

We recommend joining the American page on Facebook (ASBGA) for details of upcoming American events! Unsure if there are any events in Georgia, but you should be able to connect with players in your area in the ASBGA group.

      Thanks. That would be interesting, I liked what my 3rd bat provided. Though knowing my matchups now, Yazneg might've helped but the beserkers were there to help me against terror matchups which luckily I didn't have to face a lot of.

    Generally Hobbit armies are mostly unbalanced and not fun to play against. Hopefully there will be turnaments breakouts to compete within LoTR and within Hobbit armies to scale the nonsense sometimes...

    • @intothewestpodcast
      @intothewestpodcast  2 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      Hmm that's an interesting take, the Hobbit armies definitely play differently so I get where some people don't find them fun to play against but I'm not sure I agree that they are unbalanced or overpowered.
      I play armies from both eras and I find certain LOTR armies just as good if not better, especially the Legendary Legions. I also agree that the statlines can be ridiculous like F7 orc heroes and 2 attack orc warriors of 8 points but the Hobbit armies tend to have less viable options to round out a list.

    • @obicproductions890
      @obicproductions890 2 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Statistically (using data from longshanks) lord of the rings armies outperform hobbit armies at tournaments. Hobbit armies definitely tend to have more special rules but they pay for them heavily in points/other limitations such as some more costly/less efficient troops.
