Yes Mike. Sorry working on it. But I will recommend Oculus TV when it is release. Oculus TV allow you to do cached download - it is also your end delivery platform so the quality there should be the standard. Oculus does not work on the weekend that is why take then for a bit to process

I always paid attention to the fact that the people in front of the lens had smaller legs than the IRL. Most cameras do this, including the R5. The R5C enlarges the lower part a bit too much but the hell is way better! Finally, people in VR don't look like kids 1m tall. I hope not only me noticing it :) Thanks for the video.
Thanks for the video! I watched it in Oculus TV with cached. I have a question here… I followed every step in your Resolve 18 tutorial editing R5C raw LT 60P. With low light footage similar to your video in time 5:00. same ISO 3500, but I personally think the noise/grain is unacceptable( and is not very “immersive”). Would you suggest change the setting of aperture/shutter and lower the ISO value? I know this really depends on each shooting scenario, but I can’t find a good combination for a perfect, unnoticeable ISO noise. Thanks!

@@hughhou R5C is the right monster. I've stuck with my 5D Mk3 for stills for over 6 years, while doing video with the Panasonic GH series (GH4 and up) waiting for the R5C. The dawn is now. The R5C is here.

@Hugh Hou: Video doesn't seem to be stereoscopic. My system is properly setup and I can watch 360 Stereoscopic TH-cam videos but for this one the "Settings" icon does not show "3D".
@@hughhou I didn’t even try with my VR headset because there is no 3D setting on your video here on TH-cam (it would be visible in the video settings at the right corner). I’ll try later, but I was disappointed so many times in the last weeks searching for evidence that this camera is able to shoot stereoscopic 3D. Even canon support couldn’t give a satisfying answer. I began to think it’s just a marketing strategy to use the term 3D in the ads, because nobody will know the difference 🤷🏾♂️

I like all your videos and am very thankful for them and therefore I don`t want to get in discussion with you but this is a flat VR180 video (if you watch on youtube with VR headset, I can't try the occulus cause I have HP reverb). maybe you made something wrong while uploading to youtube? in videos on youtube where I can see the 3D effect there is always a 3D icon in the settings at the right corner of the video; here is no 3D icon and I haven't seen a single video from the canon dual fisheye lens on youtube which has the icon and is in stereoscopic 3D. I`ve also contacted canon support several times; they couldn`t send me an example and also couldn`t really precisely say "yes it does stereoscopic 3D", but in some of their ads it`s a stereoscopic lens etc. so it's really confusing. I wanted to use the camera for a VR art project in Berlin but giving it up now I guess after trying to approve it's capable of that for three weeks:( maybe insta360 pro2 is better.

As I understand it, I can do this with some kind of powerful powerbank like Zendure SuperTank Pro or Anker PowerCore + 26800 Elite? And thanks again for your channel - you are doing an amazing job for all the VR enthusiasts in the world!
@@ricorichards4099 I will explain that in the next tutorial. You just need external power source or a USB-C power bank in 65W (your MacBook pro charger will do)
@@hughhou 45W PD-port output as per Canon spec (obtained from the live interviews during the launch). The only current certified power bank is the Anker PowerCore+ 26800 Elite PD 45W for the same reasons. You can even hotswap the LP-E6NH batteries with that attached :)

Hi Hou, With the ´Canon eos vr utility ´ I can use mpeg format . So in Canon R5C , the 8k 60 fps is offer on Canon Raw Lt …. So do you have a solution to use vr utility in 8k-60 fps . Thanks
It is pretty quite and most of the time I do not realize it is there. It is on low mode - the high mode is only when you are in really hot situation like in a desert under the direct sun. So the fan noise is def not an issue. My RED is larger than R5C any giving min. If RED can be use on set, R5C will kill it.

So for gimbal I will also do a review soon. But if you can't wait for that, I use the MOZA Gimbal AirCross3 - check my Instagram page the latest reels here: instagram.com/hugh.hou/ - as you see it is the best gimbal for it. it is small that fit in a backpack. I can carry R5c with it with 1 hand. And it can rig on bigger steady cam rig to remove Z movement (i did not do here but I should really... )
@@hughhou how did you manage to get rid of the lens showing up in the side of your vr video? When I make these VR videos if I turn to the left or the right I can see the vr fisheye lens protruding into the shot instead of just a black space.
I'll have to rewatch this in my VR headset later but I'm sure it looks fantastic as I've already seen sample edited raw photos/video by now. Did you utilize my lengthy process to editing raw Canon VR video or did you find a better alternative way? If you need better low light, 60fps, and unlimited internal recording the R5C is the way to go. Otherwise, the R5 will give you basically the same quality results (you CAN convert R5 30fps to 60fps but it does take time to do).
Your workflow is great. I used a more dedicated NLE and STMap workflow - ditch Canon system completely and just do the old school stereo - like how I stitch 2 Insta360 GO2 or GoPro MAX together :)

i have owned both cameras for a very long time and i still can not produce any footage on my mac fcpx. all the tutorials are so confusing and they jump around all over the place. all the video do not show mac. they all show pc computers, plugins etc . will i ever learn how to produce content? all i want to do is film with R5 then import into final cut pro, edit and export. nobody on earth can simplify this process. do you know anyone who can help ?

It is 100% possible as you see in this video lol. Wait you send it back? The whole world want to get their hand on one!!! Look at the 8K quality in 60fps and cinema high dynamic range quality... For mp4 - I think it is codec limitation - only RAW without too much camera processing is achievable in such a high data rate. This is the world first cinema camera can do 8K 60fps that is under $5000!
@@hughhou I was referring specifically to the mp4 codec limitation. Even though some of us spent a lot of money on the camera we dont also want to spend on high monthly fees for mistikavr when canon has a utility but it doesnt even support raw, only mp4 but the stupid mp4 codec only supports 30p.
@@ericalvarez9345 MP4 requires extra processing opposed to raw. And they've already limited 8k60 to Raw LT, so there's a reason you don't get that mode in MP4.

You need to run denoise as this is RAW - so no denoise pass in the camera. But resolve will remove the noise as it is standard sensor noise.

I do not do my personal grade. It’s what Canon Lut did. C-log 3 after REC 709 still look “cinematic” - ARRI wash out look. So I need to extra crush

Yes it is VR180 3D - so you need a VR headset like Oculus Quest 2 to see 3D in 180. Download the TH-cam VR app on Oculus can watch it directly :)

2 min and 8 second video RAW LT is 38.6G in 8K 60fps - I hope this help. I have a 1TB CFExpress Card.

How is the fan noise? Someone on Reddit posted a sample of the fan noise that sounds awful for the R5C(could be a lemon and needs to be returned)

The question for many people is which one can you afford.
R5C is $400 more - I think the hidden cost is post production. R5 pretty much straight out of camera and works. R5C need a little bit works.

is it possible to mount Canon Dual Fisheye on Ursa mini 12k ? using RF to PL mount ?
I have not tried it yet but let me know if you get it to work. I don't have Blackmagic 12k
