Answer is NO. Smartphones are kind of saturated business now. The industry is stagnated and innovation will only happen in Flagships which will take years to come to midrange phones. compare when Samsung started giving AMOLED to when phones in 20k range started getting them. Compare when Samsung started Curve Display, and now recently it is coming to other phones. Also, to beat already established brands, a new brand has to SELL AS MUCH AS POSSIBLE even with LOW MARGINS, the problem here is now selling a smartphone is difficult, as not many people are upgrading so often, probably after 3-4 or even 5 years. Also with low Margin they have to compensate with fewer software updates and optimization as the team is small, which is kind of important. When big companies like Nokia, Sony, LG, Balckberry, etc who had experience in Phone making aren't able to crack the market, it is impossible for new UNKNOWN brands.

If it was just about manufacturing, and making a big brand, Ambani would have already established a Smartphone brand now when Jio is 100% focusing on Technology, he would have done it. Lava, Karbon, Micromax, etc can definitely conquer under 10k market, but for how long ? as those users are generally Low Wage workers who would probably upgrade phones only when the previous one is BEYOND REPAIR, thus they might get good sales for 1-2 or even 3 years but after that what ? nothing. Still realme is best . Specially Karbonn mobiles is useless . And realme offers new realme narzo 60 pro under 20,000 with curved amoled 120hz refresh rate display and dual sterio speaker. But lava provide only 1 descent speaker under 24k . So it's a downgrade of lava and lava's camera is very descent. You can't send pics on Instagram if you click pics with lava .
For now...Indian brands chances are slim ..even lava is struggling...unka koi Aisa phone nehi hai Jo upper mid range ya premium segment mein launch hua hai...for now it's impossible for Indian brands...
