I used to have one and loved it. Right up to the point it developed the well-documented issue that this model is prone to - the aperture gets stuck wide open so all your images will be overexposed.
Great camera, but will eventually break. The major flaw of this camera is the ribbon cable that's attached from the lens to the body. You turn the camera on off by twisting the lens, that constant motion will eventually rip the cable.
I'll talk about it. . . I have one, and I wanted to like it, but it's awkward to operate, the features are quirky (like the confusing EXR modes), and I found the optical qualities of the lens a bit disappointing. Also, I have heard that the internal ribbon connector to the lens is prone to fail after a while. On the plus side, it does have style, and it fits easily in a pocket, and its battery is compatible with the Pentax Q cameras (which have their own cult following), so the XF1 could be a good companion to those.
The XF1 has an amazing sensor in it. BUT the lens has issues. Hard to find a working one. I bought 5 of these and only 2 of them worked. EXR mode is very impressive
@@AndreiDimaReviews i really loved this camera but so afraid of it failing . I actually questioned bringing it to the last wedding i went to. I did and it was great
I remember seeing this cool underated camera and reading all the Amazon reviews who said this camera has a huge problem being prone to having a lense problem over time like about less than a half a year. Someone bought 5 of these and all of them eventually get that problem. It's honestly a cool camera but it will not last as long compared to saving up a bit more. I wish they fixed it or made a good successor
@@steviegbcoolphone smaller sensor and high resolution still cannot rival larger sensor camera in term of low light, sure there's computational software trickery but nothing beats physics
Everybody talking about it breaking eventually. But what's an alternative if I want a similar camera (small form factor, silver oder silver/black body, point and shoot)?
Did you try to fix any of them? There are shops that can change the broken ribbon. Mine was fixed by the previous owner and still works after many months. There is also a tutorial on TH-cam on how to fix it yourself. It seems hard, but not impossible.
True, most of them have the lens error. Mine works fine because it had the lens ribbon changed. Also there are people repairing them, I have a friend that that took his at an electronic repair shop and they changed the ribbon for him. There is also a video on TH-cam on how to change the ribbon, but looks pretty hard to do.

oh no :(
I had the same issue.
i had it too, less than one yr of owning it. what a garbage quality

Not at all

Thank you for sharing!
I loved mine until it broke like everyone else's. It still looks nice, though.

The one I have, had the lens ribbon changed by Fujifilm, or this is what the guy I bought it from told me. So far it works well.

disable stabilization its the work around for the lens error issue

Yes mine broke after 1 year then again after I got it repaired it.
Someone need to come up with a mod it with a fixed prime lens
They did make a good successor. Both the xq1 and xq2. They dropped the manual zoom and transitioned it over the the x trans series sensors
Difference in the ”manual forcusing mode" between X10. It's a BIG difference. Thank you.
Will be sold out across the universe by tomorrow
How much?
I depends on the country. But I don't recommend buying it, it has some problems. Get the x10 if you can.
Thank u@@AndreiDimaReviews
Cool little camera but very poor reliability mine broke twice in 2 years
That's too bad. Fuji need to make some budget friendly pocket cameras again.
@@AndreiDimaReviews no real market anymore thanks to phones.
@steviegbcool sadly, yes.

X10, X20, X30.
That’s because the all die almost immediately. I have had two.

@@AndreiDimaReviews I haven’t. I still have one of them in the basement, maybe I will give it a go!
What is price of camera 📸
Depends on the country. 150$
I liked it until the aperture broke and it became useless.
They should continue x10, imagine x40 with ovf plus digital layout like x100 ver1
That would be amazing!
i had it too and one day, someone used it, and broke the on/off switch (the lens!) unrepairable, too sad, but it was a silly on /off mechanism
Love Valencia
Me too.
Hello! Good morning !
Hello there!
had one loved it…till it just didn’t work any longer.
these have a lot of issues
Everyone knows.
@@AndreiDimaReviews ok bro 🔥
My brother had it, took nice pic while it was working but the retractable lens is fragile and failure is common afaik
If you can get the interchangeable lens camera it’s worth the larger size
True
My lil daughter uses it and I also like it
It's a good starting option.
It has the film present?
Liked it ❤❤❤❤❤
I used to have this one and i loved the EXR sensor capable of 1600% dynamic range but my friend broke it t
Slow aperture + easy to damage lens cable. Great choice.
And your point is?
@@AndreiDimaReviews I would avoid it.
Fixed lenses, enough said.
I found a nice one in a second-hand store, but the lens was busted, there don't seem to be any immune to this problem.
Still really expensive
How much?
Price?
Depends on the country you live in.
Valencia!
Yes
Yeah and you cant buy them nomore unless with lens error

I dont think there is a fujifilm camera noone talks about lol
Haha, true!
I'm so glad I bought it when it came out
You're a true artist.
deserved tho, with those mechanical issues
