    Nice bike and review. I especially liked your comments on “living within your means.”
    I ride three brands of bikes, all paid for. That adds to the joy of riding for sure!!

    you nailed it about the 5th gear OD performance...and the bike loves 3000 rpm, exactly right I have a 2023 version and not much has changed.

    You need to get Ivan's ECU Flash.
    That bike comes alive afterwards.
    It also runs cooler and the throttle response is improved. No pop on deceleration.

      I totally agree I've had the Ivan's flash done with mine along with some Cobra Tri-flo's perfect combination she growls nice. Just a good Mod altogether.

    Beautiful bike and loved your seat...nice choice. Have a 2013 Voyager after having a 1600 Classic. Never had a problem with either. Super reliable and great riding machines. It's hard to beat the value and smiles per dollar!
    Stay safe brother and thank you for a great review

    Do not use windex or any cleaner with ammonia in it because it will ruin your windshield. The best thing for your plexiglass type windshield is pledge furniture polish, I use the lemon pledge, it will clean and leave a coating on your windshield which makes it easier to clean the bugs and other stuff off. I even use it on the fairings on the front that tend to get bugs and dirt on them.

    I currently own two Harleys, but I too have always like Kawasaki's. I love the looks of the Voyager and Vaquero. I think the fairing looks great. I'm probably to old to wear out both my Harley's now, but if I do, I would be looking for a Vaquero to save some money. Great review and great looking bike.

    Hey JG,
    I used to have a KV 1700. I really enjoyed it and so did my wife. I ride a 2008 road king now. Ready to get rid of it. I’m agree with you, I don’t want no more loans for a motorcycle. Cash is the way to go. Thinking about trading the RK for a KV. Thanks for sharing.😊

    both 5th and 6th gears are overdrive. You find the neutral so easily because it has a mechanism built for it from the factory.

    I think the stereo and speakers are the Pitts. I dont even waste my time turning it on. I have V&H pipes and I like to hear the sound of the motor.

    My Vaquero has powder coated things and so I got black versions and got black oxide bolts to go with them.

    I'm in central Texas. Found this exact model 2009 in blue in a barn. $1500. Been riding it for 2 years, had a nomad before. Get the Ivan's tune on the ecu. I ride 6th gear at 55. As to the cheapness in the fit and finish, I agree butvit is nice and the Harley is $10000 more. Also oil change is a third the trouble and about $30 rather than 3 different oils

    Great video. TY. I have a 2017 . I was just hit from behind . Trunk lights are cracked and a few scrapes. Over all it's in great shape. Gonna fix it up and sell it in the spring. I just got the bike with only 12 K miles. Might just sell it as is real cheap. Wound up with a broken ankle . Could have been a lot worse. My helmet saved my coconut for sure. Your seat is awesome

    I’ve owned my ‘09 1700ABS (same color) since day one and I’ve added a few things to mine, Kuryakyn coffee cup n holder, Kuryakyn hwy pegs, iPOD connection and rear speakers. Never been impressed with the factory stereo so I am researching upgrades, better speakers, amp with Bluetooth. Next bike will be a Indian Chieftain.

  • @lawrencedavidson296
    @lawrencedavidson296 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Yeah mine's not the big tour but I have a 2011 Vulcan 1700 classic LT so the light touring edition of that motorcycle same engine hasn't got the big pairing and all that stuff on it I kind of always like to Hurley road King so that's kind of why I went that route but performance wise and stuff great bikes still not a Harley-Davidson but I'm very pleased and happy with it and I'm probably going to purchase another bike which probably will be a Harley-Davidson road King or Fatboy but not a bad thing to say about this motorcycle Kawasaki makes a great bike and 1700 is an absolutely awesome engine

    Great seat. Could they make the back rest too? I have a Goldwing. Not only would I like another seat because of a few tears but it could also use the back seat at the highest point.

      yes, u can get a backrest too

    • @iwannaapple7190

      @@johnnyg1933
      I Just found this video again. Didn't realize I commented.
      I would have to tell you the backrest that I got with my Corbin soon after the above comment sux! Its the worst backrest I've ever had. There is a large donut version and a smaller version. I got the smaller version. I thought since it was the smaller version and the fact that it was an extra $330 addition to the seat they would have thought to adjust the curvature differently to conform to an adult back like the wider version.
      I was wrong. All they did was shrink the larger version to the smaller version without adjusting any curvature so now I have both corners of the backrest poking me in the back every where I go.
      If I were to grade it to 10 with 10 being the best I would score it a -5!
      Heat is good but because of the backrest I can only last 2.5 hours instead of 2 hours with my original seat. Original backrest is 50x better and much more supportive.
      The back rest is a PURE design failure. I was told we do not give refunds on how people "Feel". My response was "Have you ever heard of "Takata airbags".
      The entire package of backrest and seat is only good for bar hopping literally. They also lie on their videos.
      For instance, they claim (I actually forget the way they cover the hole) that it comes with a way to cover the hole in case the backrest is not installed. Mine came with nothing. SO if it rains water is going to get in that hole.
      Oh yeah, The design of the seat is also wrong which translates to larger front driver area and much smaller passenger area. In other words, If the backrest is installed the passenger batter not weigh more than 130 pounds. otherwise the stem of the backrest is going where the sun don't shine. I have a 35 inch waist and I tried it while parked. There is no way I'm riding back there.

    I'm looking to buy one of these (a 2020 model) but I am really concerned about the power of this bike. 900 pounds with only 70 horsepower? Seems very lackluster. Most of my bikes have had 140hp plus. I would think this bike is about as quick as a moped.

    • @johnnyg1933
      @johnnyg1933  7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      The power is sufficient but not thrilling

    • @noahdunaway
      @noahdunaway 4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      The power is plenty adequate, faster than most Harleys. I rode crotch rockets all my life until I was 60 and I bought a 2007 Nomad on an online auction. I had a 2008 Hayabusa at the time that I later let my stepson talk me out of it. I wound up buying a 2010 Voyager with 1700 miles on it for a good price, I still have the Voyager and bought a 2019 Concours 14 new to replace the Hayabusa. I never cared much for Harleys because they were so slow and expensive. If you want both worlds, speed and touring capabilities, the Concours may be the bike for you.

      @johnnyg1933 would you feel confident enough to ride with let's say Goldwings. My group usually cruises around 85ish on the open road. Would the Voyager seem like it's struggling to stay with the pack?

      I paid $1050. It's a typical corbin...super firm...but your butt never hurts. But its not a luxurious feeling.
