Foxbody mustang timing chain & cover replacement guide harmonic balancer removal 5.0L 302 water pump

On my 87 Foxbody I'm trying to do a dry-run tc cover install. Mine has dowels and it seems the right one's about same dia of the hole in the cover, so it's giving me fits. My Haynes manual had me trim the cork gaskets to fit the pan corners then glue them to the oil pan 1st, but I think now it would've been better to rtv them and the rubber gasket to the cover and also put the dowels in the cover too (mine came out with the old cover), then rtv all the critical points.

How do you get the camshaft gear for the timing chain off. No video anywhere says how to :(

whats the spec for the bolt on the harmonic balancer? did you use loctite?

FerKurl just confirming, I see you cut the original one piece rubber oil pan gasket flush with the block for the new gaskets. Did You trim the new one to meet with the old one?
