Yes for both questions. You need to keep your light switch permanently turned on in order to be able to use it via BT/ app/ voice commands. If you don't want that, just use it as a normal ceiling light controlling it from the light switch.

How did you get this to work, Hold the "ON"+"M" do NOthing with my lamp, also how did you get the "lamp" to connecting you wifi at home.. i general i can´t get this lampe to work at all.. the only thingworking is then the power is on the light is on, nothing else work. any idear.
Hi Martijn, if i use the lamp with an usual main switch next to my door and i turn the lamp off, i'll lose the bluetooth connection to my sensors around the apartment, right? Is there a possibility to connect a third wire to the yeelight? i try to have a permanent power connection and i'll want to use the main switch. Thanks. Vincent
Hi Martijn, the light works fine (both with the Yeelight app and with Alexa) but I'm having issues with the remote controller: I've tried the trick you show in your footage but nothing happens although the led of the controller lights up correctly. Any idea how to get roud this before getting to the conclusion that the bluetooth connectivity is not working? Cheers...
@@DuaneWalker1 I did but that was one year ago and I honestly do not remember what I did to sort that out. What I remember is that the combination of keys proposed by the blogger to activate the bluetooth was not correct, at least for my product, and I had to find a different combination...

Your videos are great, I just notice you pronounce words that starts with V like F, for example: "fideo", "foice" , probably because this is how it's pronounced in Dutch. Please don't take this as a negative feedback. Keep it up.

I am confused about the two wire... which one to put in...
can i use it in 16x18 foot living room for a sufficient amount of brightness
no video making or any other work under that, just normal living
In a 4 by 5 meter room, I never put it on max brightness, because it will look like a hospital :D haha

it works with everything xiaomi, it has wifi and bluetooth, so you can even use it as a BLE gateway for older temp sensors.
