I’m old and I’ve been playing since the original came out on Xbox. But honestly, the game shifted to third person for the second game and that’s been the primary mode ever since. It’s the primary reason I’ve become so emotionally invested, because this type of game with the third person perspective is what truly speaks to me. Also why I loved Splinter Cell so much. I can’t even wrap my mind around people who think that this game series should go back to the 3 year period in its 23 year history where the primary gameplay was first person. That’s not the issue that needs to be addressed to improve the game going forward.
Gameplay loop should be have big ruck with a shit ton of supplies in it. You have the freedom to keep it on but it slows you and reduces your stamina. I think a Ghost Recon designed with first person in mind might become my favourite FPS game just based on game mechanics, BUT I hope they don't get rid of the current 3rd person because visually seeing your character's camo, patches, gear and facepaint is 50% of the fun of the game IMO
So glad your channel started to boom Custer. Been following you since well before even 5k subs and it genuinely makes me happy to see you doing great on TH-cam and working with big name TH-camrs!!!
I'm absolutely looking forward to your STALKER Graphics video. Even though I'm mostly a GAMMA player and recently picked up EFP because of you Custer, I'm excited to see what you've added onto the modlist. Have a good vacation too!
You can have the best of both worlds in wildlands and breakpoint, and from a business perspective, it just only makes sense to cover both groups of people and what they're seeking to literally double your income
I tried the recent Ghost Recon game, they decided to go the goofy route (I played where you jump in a monster truck and had to smash into parked enemy cars). If I want goofy that is actually fun, I'll go back to Borderlands.
Honestly I think we should wait and see but I do like what most of the leaks said about how it’s a more serious game, hopefully with no skill tree but instead gear based upgrades like ready or not with upsides and downsides to each gear so you have to think about what you bring, with focus on squad play and immersion About the game being first person or third person I really don’t care since two of my favorite GR games are AW2 and future soldier which if you’ve played them they’re completely different things
the pov argument is getting out of hand, we need to agree that both is the best option bc otherwise the player base is divided 50/50 and they are just gonna struggle
3rd person: Yeah I like kitting out my gear for a certain look. I like looking at it. I like others seeing what I've chosen to wear. 1st person: I vastly over-prefer experiencing first person gameplay. It feels more real, it's more intuitive for me, less distracting for me, less obstructive for me. It eliminates supernatural vision advantage in PvE and PvP. I have straight up ignored games that are in third person unless I've found a FPS mod. A compromise: R6 Vegas style. FPS during the majority of gameplay, TPS when hugging cover. Make the transitions smooth and feature your character's appearance in the menus and it should make everyone happy right? I mean seriously, how often are you focusing on your character's back and ass while you are shooting bad guys? Point is, we don't HAVE to make it binary either TPS or FPS. It's been proven both can be melded into an experience pretty damn seamlessly. Stop fighting, agree on what can work for everyone.
What do you think about having a team of like 6-8 characters, and can use them solo or in teams of 2, and if they get shot or hurt then instead of using a stim pack and fixing crazy injuries, you have to cycle your team thru a campaign and with perma-death if the injuries are bad enough, so then maybe your squad shrinks, thru an entire campaign could get interesting. Any thoughts?
they should have made an option so the player could pick between first and third person, not only first person strictly i really like the customization of the character in third person.
I don't really care what perspective they use. I mainly care about the content and gameplay. I feel that's the issue with games these days. They use all effort to make the game look good, but then they don't add much content whilst holding your hand and being way too simple and easy.
Having the same shallow thing arbitrarily pasted 400 times around a boring map is not content. That's another huge problem: they all want to say that they have a huge map and dozens of hours of content. Yet, the content is all boring. I'll take 30 hours of engaging content rather than 3,000 hours of what GRB and GRW have.
I agree that Breakpoint needs some content variety, but I do like Sandbox-style games with high character customization for immersion and even a roleplay element in Open World games. I think my hours of modded Skyrim back in the day set that precedent. I think the post-release settings variety of Breakpoint made it really enjoyable for me and less hand-holdy. You can really limit the infamous Ubisoft HUD elements and make it as hardcore (or not) as you want. Which is a gamechanger. I also do not enjoy leveled gear RPG elements in shooters at all. Far Cry New Dawn and Breakpoint’s initial release being examples that just don’t work for the genre for ME. Lastly, Always Online singleplayer games need to just go away. It’s unnecessarily frustrating and limits the life of the games. It’s also a deterrent for many to buy them, reducing overall sales.
It’d be amazing if they added breaching mechanics like kicking doors and breaching walls. shotgun breachers. Rams. C4. That’d be dope - IT NEEDS TO HAVE THIRD PERSON
How cool would it be to be able to carry a ruck and an assault pack, but be able to drop the ruck for the mission. Catch is, whatever is in your ruck you lose if you don't get it on the exfil. Giving you a more realistic experience to real combat style tactics.
You make excellent points about 3D person perspective. If they add first person it should be switchable with a middle mouse button or something like that. So my vote goes to both.
First person? Third person is what makes the ghost recon series standout from other Military rp games it not cod or escape from Tarkov I wanna see my drip not my hands
I put HOURS in both wildlands & breakpoint! the last game to give me withdrawals from HAVING to play was halo reach (throw og Mw2 in there).. wildlands dropped & I immediately started throwing days away playing ghost War/campaign for 8 to 12hrs straight.. fell in love. The potential of both games hurts me to the core knowing what could've been. ubi jus forgot about one of its flagship series for div 2 rainbow etc. We could've had endless maps for pvp through constant updates wildlands could very well run for another 10 years. Gracefully. Breakpoints aurora also has many landmarks balanced for pvp. Give us yearly map updates or the option to make our own pvp zones & spawn points & that's all we need to keep servers populated. A well executed battle royal could've been done.
If this will be the last GR game, then make it 1st or 3rd person, and immersive or gear score. Cover all the bases so everyone can play it however they want.
It would probably be difficult to manage for the devs, but I'd like the option for first - or third-person gameplay. I actually enjoyed GR competitive gameplay, but i would enjoy competitive play in the first person perspective more. I definitely enjoy the tactical Barbie as well, and the point about animations is spot on. I also agree that the chosen tac kit should affect ammo count and gear. I would also love to see ubi implement something like rebellions invasion mode in Sniper elite 5. I'd love to invade and be invaded by other players. Perhaps they could limit invasions to only happen during missions or when near hostile compounds, and when the invasion is engaged, the map is limited to an area around the mission area. In theory, it would be really cool to have the entire map open to track players done from long distance, but that could be difficult to balance and make work.
well, been playing GRB for at while, and never even switched my gear a lot.... do you have any ideas to new setup, gun, asr and sniper.... currently i use scorpia scout, love the fast loading between shots...asr M4Aa, gets me by in almost every scenario, ang gun USP tactical..... i would prefer a ASR with good mobility so when walking while aiming isnt in slow pace....
Just wanted to get on here to let you know most military guys would never use/ be able to use the packs waist straps because the plate carrier/ battle belts would hinder that from functioning correctly and for most guys would actually cause more discomfort!
Gear management system is a must for the next GR game imo. The community has been asking for this for some time and i think it would just add so much to the game, having to prepare your Ghost and squad with the right gear for a specific OP is what is missing for me (besides more indepth squad commands). All gear and cosmetics should have a risk reward. Civilian clothing and concealed firearms to blend in and not raise suspicion or panic civilians whilst on covert ops. Functioning camo index. All gear needs to have an impact on your Ghosts' performance in some way. For Eg, functioning camo, more armour, and ammo will affect speed and manoeuvrability. The lighter your ghost, the faster you can run, vault, swim and parachute distance shoukd be increased. Personally, I'd prefer GR to remain a 3rd person game, but I'll wait until i see gameplay before i make up my mind on the game. Nothing is confirmed as of right now.
Great vid bro but I just got started with breakpoint after finishing wildlands and of course i loved it but what I want to know how to unlock episode 3 missions or is it even possible to unlock them?? It says that only red patriot owners can play them but u can’t find that anywhere.
do you have recommended settings and mods for breakpoint 🤔i must say your videos got me into playing breakpoint, wildlands and stalker anomaly efp and loving when i get time to play
I would like them to add animals in like assassins creed origins that can kill you and make the game like wild lands with breakpoints mechanic as well .
The first Ghost Recons are my favorite, I recently bought them cuz I heard they were similar to “The Sum of All Fears” A game I played soooo much as a Child Absolutely Loved it, then I tried ghost recon and saw it is similar to SOAF and the reason why I loved SOAF so much cuz was the fact that if you died the game never ended until your entire team was wiped that was such an awesome mechanic that we never got ever again….. And the cool part about the Ghost Recon is you could order your team around, if we could get a ghost recon game with all of this old mechanics back that would be so awesome…. All the shooter games in the world made games like where your character is the main character if you die it’s over, and that’s so stupid…. Like give me a squad of marines and if they die they die, if I die I die I can just swap to the next guy, or give me a Swat Game with the same mechanics…. It’s so stupid that if you die or your Allies die the game ends… always hated that…. And always wanted a game series that’s both Swat and military kind of game with this old style with split screens I could be one team of 3 the other player his own team of 3? Imagine how fun that would’ve been… 😔 The game only ends if all teams are wiped, and if you die you die you just swap over to the next guy and I won’t mind with linear or open world missions like this… I just wish we had more games like this other than the first Ghost Recons and SOAF….. it’s really an awesome and unique game… 😔
They need to look back and grab mechanics from Metal Gear Solid V. More equipment weighs you down and reduces stamina, spent equipment has a cost, helicopter pickup and drop off, Basecamp, enemy bases communicating, enemies using counter measures based on your play style, weapon slings, etc.
Going by the description of what the new GR game is going to be i think it will be like Future soldier with switchable 1st to 3rd person views and a modern look.
I would love to see a diegetic hud. I prefer to play without a hud cause I think it’s pretty distracting, but the trade off is sometimes I don’t have enough information such as knowing how much ammo I have left. There is a repeating weapon check animation in breakpoint that often occurs at very inappropriate time, such as when I’m traversing a sharp incline. I would love it if I had more control of my character. Most of the things I don’t like about breakpoint are pretty nit picky to be honest, but things such as not being able to turn off my laser and my troop just throwing his trash on the ground really takes me out of it. The next ghost recon does not need to be the most realistic tactical shooter on the market. It needs mechanics that actually blend together. I would like to play a game with an emphasis on stealth, but the pink man standing next to me shouldn’t subject to the same rate of detection as me when I’m all ghillied up. I want my guns to not feel like they’re shooting pool noodles. I want vehicles that don’t have the worst handling in the world. I want a good cover system. The enemy ai is so dumb and blind while in stealth that I question how I’m ever supposed to take them seriously, while paradoxically, I’ll get sniped through a tree by a guard who I had no chance of ever seeing because the concealment only worked one way. I wish all the gear on the game was available in the store to purchase instead of making a dead open world seem alive by adding loot boxes everywhere. At least wildlands had an open world that didn’t feel like a chore to explore, it’s too bad the game feels so dated to me. Side tangent: I really liked the simple vehicle mechanic of being able to drive into enemy bases through the front gates undetected if you were driving the appropriate vehicle. Not entirely realistic, but it allows for a completely different approach to complete a mission. For example, the guy who would melt bodies for the cartel I kidnapped from right under their noses by just driving in, throwing him in the trunk, and driving out. I’m skeptical about the next games quality. I understand that it’s not going to be call of duty or ready or not, but I can’t help but feel like I’m being baited by the devs whenever I’m told about the grittier direction the game is doing. Almost shooting a child because they were mistaken for a bomb sounds like a gimmick to me. Something that once the novelty wears off I can’t help but wonder why they even put it in the game in the first place. Because a scenario such as that will never match the intensity of actually experiencing something like that yourself. Who knows? It’s likely that I’ll be amazed with the game when it comes out, but understanding that Ubisoft has a history of deceptive business practices. I am skeptical that it will live up to even their own standards. They will sell the game though, and along with everyone else, I will buy it. Trash or not. TLDR: incoherent rambling.
I still enjoy Wildlands, currently playing through ghost mode on advanced difficulty, taking my time slowly pacing through, partially because I'm hoping friends will pick it up too.
I wish they would make the AI much harder. I wish your ghillie suit actually had a purpose. Being in a sniper duel with ai snipers would be sweet. make it much harder to hide so that only skilled players could master it
I really wished breakpoint had more survival mecanics, I remember always trying to drink water but the caracter never wanting to. Never been hungry was a miss too because I remember doing a couple of snacks to eat while not in combat. I think they could bring survival instead of RPG
Put that work into wildlands with the boys had a whole story written up. Wish they made a sequel that wasn’t break point working off the canon ending of wildlands with El Seuno in Peru or El Salvador. I assume it would’ve felt to similar though and that’s why it wasn’t made.
As a highly devoted & emotionally invested Ghost Recon community member, I personally agree with everything you said, from start to finish, and I’m confident that most of this unique community appreciates your interactive perspectives. Another great video brother! 😎🤙
I think they will do a good job. Ubisoft is one of the few studios out there that seem to care about the product they release. I think a few have some poor stories but the game is always great. Hopefully they Keep third person as an option because it is what they do best. Now Give me Back my Splinter Cell!!! Chaos theory is the game that made me fall in love with online pvp games. Your the goat of this category btw.
first person or not, a camera mode would still allow players to enjoy the tactical barbi element. I like 1st pov because it makes the combat more immersive.
FPS with bodycam gameplay sections for next ghost recon and then, splinter cell full bodycam next year. And then in 2026, a Might and Magic game ala Farcry.
I really liked wildlands ghost mod, i wish they would add more tactical depth to the new game, like IGI2 game the GPS mechanic, where you only would get a terrain detail and your characters location & objective location, no enemy spoting drones or hostile area markers, a heat camera on drone or night vision is fun to have. i believe a drone is a cool idea for games such as Ghost recon but it should have limited battery and also it shouldn't be able to locate enemies, it should only be used as a scouting unit for locations out of reach. the online mini map was a down side for me, it suddenly spoiled half the combat for you. I would like to see some DayZ & Tarkov mehanics aswell, like the loot & combine mechanics of DayZ & injury mechanics of Tarkov.
It needs to have both, first and third person. No reason for new games not to have that option, unless your studio does not have the talent or funds... which we know wont be an issue for the next ghost recon game, I assume at least.
GR games are like killing the same 8 types of npc clones in a huge map wich feels lile dejavou all the time. Why having a huge map if every npc encounter feels the same? My bet would be more diverse NPC on each of the areas. Bolivia and aurora had these clones wherever you go. Future soldier had it's unique enemy npc for each map. In the case of open world choice..could be 1 type of enemy skins for each province at least. Thats what made me back to future soldier world since you get these diferent feel on the game's atmosphere.
Wildlands had a vibrant world that felt alive with the music, the civilians and aesthetic. Breakpoint felt empty, and had no identity of it's own. And without Jon Bernthal's Walker, it's base game is severely lacking in story. Which is a shame because I really enjoyed the gameplay.
Eu estava a gostar do Sniper Elite 5 mas agora graças a ti tenho que voltar á Bolívia. Obrigado Custer, muitos parabéns pelo teu trabalho que é para lá de magnífico e um forte abraço desde Setúbal 💪

they should make the fps mode like six days in Fallujah
So glad your channel started to boom Custer. Been following you since well before even 5k subs and it genuinely makes me happy to see you doing great on TH-cam and working with big name TH-camrs!!!
I'm absolutely looking forward to your STALKER Graphics video. Even though I'm mostly a GAMMA player and recently picked up EFP because of you Custer, I'm excited to see what you've added onto the modlist. Have a good vacation too!
More millsim mechanics in a co-op/ single player experience?? Yes please!
Sounds like GR is finally going back to it's roots.
You can have the best of both worlds in wildlands and breakpoint, and from a business perspective, it just only makes sense to cover both groups of people and what they're seeking to literally double your income
Loved the hike footage!
I tried the recent Ghost Recon game, they decided to go the goofy route (I played where you jump in a monster truck and had to smash into parked enemy cars).
If I want goofy that is actually fun, I'll go back to Borderlands.
It was something new I kinda like it but we all got different opinions
Honestly I think we should wait and see but I do like what most of the leaks said about how it’s a more serious game, hopefully with no skill tree but instead gear based upgrades like ready or not with upsides and downsides to each gear so you have to think about what you bring, with focus on squad play and immersion
About the game being first person or third person I really don’t care since two of my favorite GR games are AW2 and future soldier which if you’ve played them they’re completely different things
the pov argument is getting out of hand, we need to agree that both is the best option bc otherwise the player base is divided 50/50 and they are just gonna struggle
When a game allows you to switch between 1st & 3rd, I find that's when I become most engrossed in it
Duuuuuuude if I get to ruck around the mountains of Afghanistan hunting for the taliban in the next Ghost Recon that would be awesome
@@Go_Coup breakpoint on point, map and missions are just copy paste
That be lit
1:49 you said that exactly as you did when we talked about it 😂
They can just make it an option to switch between 1st/3rd person, maybe a key bind.
How cool would it be to be able to carry a ruck and an assault pack, but be able to drop the ruck for the mission. Catch is, whatever is in your ruck you lose if you don't get it on the exfil. Giving you a more realistic experience to real combat style tactics.
Off topic, but the view at 6:23 is absolutely amazing, love the great views in the game.
Wildlands does look pretty!
You make excellent points about 3D person perspective. If they add first person it should be switchable with a middle mouse button or something like that. So my vote goes to both.
New Ghost Recon? This thing is 5 years old
First person?
I'm hearing, "Instead of one well-made game, have 10 poorly-made games!"
In theory, it would be really cool to have the entire map open to track players done from long distance, but that could be difficult to balance and make work.
if the modders can make a 1st person mode, why don't the developers do both just like that everyone is happy
they should make the fps mode like six days in Fallujah
well, been playing GRB for at while, and never even switched my gear a lot.... do you have any ideas to new setup, gun, asr and sniper.... currently i use scorpia scout, love the fast loading between shots...asr M4Aa, gets me by in almost every scenario, ang gun USP tactical..... i would prefer a ASR with good mobility so when walking while aiming isnt in slow pace....
Looks more fun than Gray Zone Warfare
Just wanted to get on here to let you know most military guys would never use/ be able to use the packs waist straps because the plate carrier/ battle belts would hinder that from functioning correctly and for most guys would actually cause more discomfort!
I think we can all agree that the wildlands cloaking device was better than the breakpoint one
I get both sides of the perspective debate. I REALLY hope that they give the player an option to pick 1st or 3rd person
Why do they have to make everything fps😭 ghost recon was unique because it was third person
Great vid bro but I just got started with breakpoint after finishing wildlands and of course i loved it but what I want to know how to unlock episode 3 missions or is it even possible to unlock them?? It says that only red patriot owners can play them but u can’t find that anywhere.
Cant we just have another wildlands please
do you have recommended settings and mods for breakpoint 🤔i must say your videos got me into playing breakpoint, wildlands and stalker anomaly efp and loving when i get time to play
I'd love to see a solid Future Soldier 2, such an outstanding game.
Agree with your comments, also I would like to be able to stow all weapons, maybe press and hold triangle.
This
I would like them to add animals in like assassins creed origins that can kill you and make the game like wild lands with breakpoints mechanic as well .
The first Ghost Recons are my favorite, I recently bought them cuz I heard they were similar to “The Sum of All Fears”
A game I played soooo much as a Child Absolutely Loved it, then I tried ghost recon and saw it is similar to SOAF and the reason why I loved SOAF so much cuz was the fact that if you died the game never ended until your entire team was wiped that was such an awesome mechanic that we never got ever again…..
Imagine how fun that would’ve been… 😔
The game only ends if all teams are wiped, and if you die you die you just swap over to the next guy and I won’t mind with linear or open world missions like this… I just wish we had more games like this other than the first Ghost Recons and SOAF….. it’s really an awesome and unique game… 😔
3rd person with 1st person shooting is perfect tho
I still enjoy Wildlands, currently playing through ghost mode on advanced difficulty, taking my time slowly pacing through, partially because I'm hoping friends will pick it up too.
i would love to see the new GR turns to be a triple AAA tarkov with a PVPVE but like the division with exclusives areas for PVP
I just got back to breakpoint 2 days ago. really good news if there is anything similar to it in the making
Is this footage on a PC? It looks beautiful
i wonder if the next ghost recon i could even run it lol
We need a ghost recon game based during the cold war in Vietnam, with fictionalised soviet warfare
Be nice if you could switch to cockpit view when operating vehicles, planes and helicopters. A little less guns and better rewards.
first person or not, a camera mode would still allow players to enjoy the tactical barbi element. I like 1st pov because it makes the combat more immersive.
i just hope they make the gunplay better and less arcade-y. or at least have it like somewhat adjustable
The first ghost recon i played in 2013 was GHOST RECON PHANTOMS and thats why i started play ghost recon games thou but but i miss phantoms so much
Jokes on you I played it when it was still called GR Online xD
If they go first person this franchise is done.
It would be nice to have both doe that can work so you can switch if you like
spot on
FPS with bodycam gameplay sections for next ghost recon and then, splinter cell full bodycam next year. And then in 2026, a Might and Magic game ala Farcry.
Are you using mods in this video in this game? If so what mods are you using to make the graphics look so crisp???
The third person thing... ghost recon found a identity being a pseudo-tac shooter in that perspective
It needs to have both, first and third person. No reason for new games not to have that option, unless your studio does not have the talent or funds... which we know wont be an issue for the next ghost recon game, I assume at least.
Third person , you could swap between them anytime you wanted
TACKTICAL BARBIE...... I am borrowing that word from you. Thank you very much
what is so difficult to make it first and 3th person?
First person??Big dislike...thirt person was great..
This is what I quoted in my video as well. We are aligned in thought. Hello from Brazil
can it not be both first person or third person?
I hope they get rid of the unrealistic bullet trajectories and ballistics
Wildlands had a vibrant world that felt alive with the music, the civilians and aesthetic. Breakpoint felt empty, and had no identity of it's own. And without Jon Bernthal's Walker, it's base game is severely lacking in story. Which is a shame because I really enjoyed the gameplay.
First-person only will kill the game. There are a lot of people who cannot play First person because of motion sickness. I will not buy.
1k & I wished the movement of the playable character in breakpoint was more like future soldier, the game that brought me into the franchise.
Eu estava a gostar do Sniper Elite 5 mas agora graças a ti tenho que voltar á Bolívia. Obrigado Custer, muitos parabéns pelo teu trabalho que é para lá de magnífico e um forte abraço desde Setúbal 💪
It would be awesome if they would remaster the ORIGINAL Ghost Recons. Sad thing is even if the did, they'd still manage to fuck it up
Breakpoint didn't have an drone that explodes....
Amazing content as always.
