"I feel like this is a crime...". Well you know what else is a crime? Sacrificing a person for a Daedra. And for what, a chestpiece you don't even use? I feel like your character is more morally bankrupt than the entire Thieves Guild put together to be frank.
Not to mention the fact he steals peoples souls and then consumes them to make some jewelry look prettier..
The Radski 5 ahah
I would have called this episode the brotherhood of steal
H H I don’t get the joke
Anthony Yagoda fallout joke
"Now that I have pick-pocketing gauntlets on one hand, and pick-pocketing boots on another..."
*Cut to Jon holding Dagger with boot*
And with a pauldron to protect my glowing balls.
Oh dear, I do appear to have broken the fourth wall. Benor! Benor! Fix the wall please. I appear to have broken it a little.
David Giles and a helmet for your feet
I like how Jon switches between paragon and psychopath at the drop of the hat
"I need to do this subtly..." while swimming around with a bigass light floating overhead. *shakes head*
"Oi you see that glowy thing hovering over the water?" "It's probably the skooma don't worry about it" "FIRE FIRE AHHHH FETCH THE WATER!"
You don't have the moral high ground here Jon, your character is a murderer and a necromancer
And already a thief, just as well he made it official.
When did the necromancer who murders random people for their blood and sacrifices unsuspecting companions suddenly gained a moral compass to get outraged at yhe Thieves Guild being a bunch of... well, thieves?
She's just pretending so that Benor doesn't think any less of her.
There needs to be honour amongst thieves, you know?
Exactly what I was thinking
Cognitive dissonance would like to have a word.
Even the worst of us want to live in a nice neighbourhood.
I love what a shining pillar of morality Jon becomes in the presence of criminals
King_Harrison 99 "Shining pillar of morality"
*Cuts back to her betraying and sacrificing someone that trusted her for some cool armour*
And, of course, using souls trapped forever in the Soul Cairn to bind magic to his weapons. Jon is not exactly a paragon of virtue. :P
which he thenimediaty put in a box and never touched....also he missed the unique loot in goldenglow...
Jon said Benor 18 times in this part making the Benor counter at 1831.
20:22 Jon you have literally sacrificed an innocent person for the sake of a deadra lord. You have no right to judge mate.
Now don't go and take it out of context. It worked out just peachy fine.
Of course I didn't! It was heavy armour, and I wear light armour. And if Benor wore it then he'd aggravate the innocent folk. That sounds like it works out pretty well to me.
so basically you were evil just for the sake of it and not for any kind of reward.... that just makes it worse mate XD
I think tempting people to push the big red button is more flipping evil than a little cleaning!
Sure, one innocent person may have been slightly sacrificed, but all those other evil cultists were also killed. Just think of how many other people won't be sacrificed now because of that. I'm a flipping hero. Heroine I suppose. But that does sound a little druggy. So I'll go with hero. I don't want to promote drugs; pushing big red buttons.
oh of course but tell me something mister im so if you really wanted to clean out the cultists why not just kill them? there was no sacrifce to get to them and surely you and benor could have handled it but no you decided to kill an innocent and then do a demons quest... for shame jon you aint fooling nobody
"I feel I've been spotted, which is weird, given I'm invisible"
>Just threw a fireball
>Is not invisible (because of the fireball)
>Has massive glowing light above his head
>Is directly in the sightlines of a guard
Ah yes the adventures of Benor and his stealthy conjuring healing illusioning necromancer sidekick with a permanent ball of light above her head continues!
9:45 "These strike me as bad people" Well, you know Jon, it's a thieves' guild, not a hospital clowns' guild...
... I'd be far more scared of a hospital clown guild...
In hindsight, that was probably a bad example...
Jon at 5:58: This is unpleasant. This got dark fast
Jon at 8:59: Look, do I just need to cave your head in, because I bloody will.
Let's be stealthy for goldenglow job MAGELIGHT!
and don't forget the stealthy explosions
Parish Dennis quietcasting
FrostTalon it's a light though
Babitat 7 ok yes, but I was IMPLYING SARCASM about the fireball explosions
FrostTalon quiet casting only makes the casting of the spells silent, that means destruction spells such as fireball still make sound when they land much like a arrow landing from a bow
interesting fact, do enough missions on either vex or delving, you can makethe guild more prosperous, the loot you can obtain gets better, your surroundings are better when you are down there, you get access to various people that you can sell stolen loot to,and even get shops after doing enough jobs in a hold
Joshua O'Bryan don't you actually have to do about 90 quests for that though
James Mellor I think it's around 24, though you don't have to do them all at once, fortunately.
puckay Quick save just before they give you the location then reload until both quests are in the same city, it will make things much faster. Also no need to do quests in Riften. If using mods you can set a fast travel location right next to Vex and actually get this done reasonably quickly.
"Now that I've got the pickpocketing gauntlets on one hand, and the pickpocketing boots on the other..." - Jon wearing a boot on his hand, 2017
As a collector of everything unique in Skyrim, seeing Jon selling the Thieves' Guild armor pains my heart! Especially since I love the look of the armor. Ow!
What you call collecting I call hoarding!!
And if he sells his official set which I think he didn't pick up yet, he will never be able to turn them in again as you need to do to get the upgraded version as you progress. Well, there's always the set from the Solstheim smithy which is better and nicer anyway.
especially since it was actually better than the armor hes wearing!
I believe he did, he only kept the boots, gloves and cowl. I thought the same thing when I saw him selling it to the shop. But perhaps he wouldn't make use of it, even when it's upgraded to Master, it's what, carry capacity?
Yeah i was kinda annoyed when he sold both tops when it's needed for future upgrades.
Jon, after taking an Invisibility potion, ANY action you trigger will cancel the effect. Casting, using items, attacking, activating anything
How you get all high and mighty on the morality of a guild of people who steal but make a point not to kill people is beyond me based on your characters activities. Stealing from others from the beginning of the run, human sacrifice, and treating a loyal companion like a punching bag do not seem to be morally good.
Jon sniff around the beds in the Cistern (one of them is yours) and you might find a book that will explain some useful symbols that could help you out :D
Kerjo the shadowmarks by delvin mallory
I carried that book around my entire playthrough haha it comes in handy
literally a probability of zero that jon will make any use of knowing what thieve guild symbols mean
Another episode of The Adventures of Benor and his weird friend the Dragonborn
The amount of judgment from Jon towards the thieves guild considering he's a bigger bastard than this whole lot put together will always be hilarious. Apparently in Jon's eyes racketeering is worse than sacrificial rituals to gain favor with basically a lord of hell. It's even better in retrospect when you know how much more evil Jon gets this playthrough so when he talks of reforming these petty criminals all you can do is just smile and nod.
Jon I love the fact that you narrate everything that's happening. It makes your videos seem like a podcast and it's nice and chill. Especially since you make hour-ish long episodes.
8:20 - "This is surely a crime" well it is a thieve's guild quest...
/(o_o)\
You mean all time I've been playing the thieves guild I've been breaking the law... I feel violated.
Raynor646 :O Next you're going to tell me the Dark Brotherhood is actually evil.
mewtuwa By Sithis, if you think murdering people and sending their souls to the void in the name of a dark God is evil ... Oh. You may have a point.
The orc camp you mentioned has a rather lovely toy you could give to Benor Jon....
"No idea if I've ever done the Thieves Guild questline", and yet you've already sequence broke it, also because you were already above Level 15 when you spoke to Mjoll for the first time you had to wait for another level-up to get Grimsever to spawn again.
Weston Rigby I mean they are all quests in Riften but the Mjoll quest is:t theives guild related in the slightest.
I know that, but he went to Mzilicheft and didn't get the sword causing it to despawn when he left, and then he talked to Mjoll after Level 15 and couldn't get the quest because of that(being above Level 15,not going to the ruin first) so he had to wait another level.
Just out of curiosity can he fix the thieves guild questline with console commands? I'm on PS4 and have no idea how it works on the pc
L Plunk you can fix/do just about anything with a decent knowledge of the console commands. He could add grimsever to his inventory then give it to Mjoll and if it didn't complete the quest he could force to quest to be completed. You can do an awful lot with them.
In todays episode Robin wants to prove to Batman he can do a mission alone and leaves him at a dock for half an hour
Alex Kiepura took him nearly an hour to just swim over there
I think that, despite his burly, intimidating armor, gruff demeanor, and preference for absolutely murdering his enemies, Benor is a sweet, tender, and sensitive love-maker. What do you think? I know Jon has thought about it.....
RADAR!!
6:15
"Who are you by the way? Were you always here?"
"Yeah, what's your problem?"
Talk about timing😂😂
I'm 18:41 in, and I have a warning. Whatever you do, don't sell all of the thieves guild armor. One game I sold all that was given to me and all that was lying around. At some point a reward is to have Tonila improve one piece of it. You can't progress the quest-line otherwise. I don't remember how I managed to get one back. I do remember that I had a hard time with it, and I didn't use console commands.
I've had a look at the Speech tree and there's a few perks it seems might be nice for Jon to have.
*Merchant* - Can sell any type of item to any kind of merchant
*Investor* - Can invest 500 gold with a shopkeeper to increase their available gold permanently
*Master Trader* - Every merchant in the world gains 1000 gold for bartering
SourceOfBeing Speech perks are great for "quality of life."
David Ray i get a mod so every merchant has 10000 gold and dragenborn merchants 20000 gold and they still run out of money
Leonardo Cacciato dragenborn is almost as good as niverine
37:24 I'm surprised Jon didn't blame Benor for setting off that trap as usual.
The Thieves Guild questline is really one of the better questlines. The quests involve more than mindlessly killing one thing after another. I also see Jon is once again not paying attention to the quest markers and thinking Maven is at home when she is actually in the inn. I am sorry he missed the Golden Bee which is upstairs in the bedroom but you really only see that if you go up to get the key from Aringoth himself. I have a character going through the questline now and I am going to try pacify on Aringoth to be able to steal the key and the Golden Bee without killing him.
Typically a nords disposition will actually increase with you (or stays neutral) when you beat them in a brawl because of their culture. If you have the option to solve a problem by brawling a Nord it would be advisable to do so. The pawned prawn for instance I think you can get him to trust you and thus give you minor free items and a discount if you go with the fist fighting route instead of the urn.
If you're summoning Dremora Lords now, charge up Sanguine Rose and give it to Benor! Double Dremora!
I spent at least an hour swimming around those goddamned beehives. I hate invisible walls.
Once you attack with invisibility it ends and don't use mage light when sneaking
*Do* use the magelight when youtubing.
Fixed.
Antimony Cup or just turn of the lighting mod that makes everything so dark.
Even on vanilla, yt makes everything much darker. Don't you know that?
Jon might be the only person in the world surprised by the fact that a group of thieves are actually bad people.
I love Jon's reasoning, he's like "Well, I know you're a serial killer, and that you killed about four people in a terribly brutal fashion, but you are also wearing a silly hat so that makes up alot in my books".
muffle check...invis potion check....giant floating light above his head priceless
52:39 Pinhead peaks out from a corner:
- I knew I dropped the damn thing around here somewh... Hey! Are interested in a trade? That cube thing looks interesting...
Unfortunately, even if you wanted to, there's nothing you can actually do against Maven Black-Briar or the Thieves Guild. A quest where you drive them out or expose Maven to the Jarl would have made for a neat alternative quest for those who don't want to help the Thieves Guild get back on their feet.
rcblazer I always found that odd because there is an option to destroy the Dark Brotherhood I always wondered why there wasn't a way to dismantle the Thieves Guild.
"I feel like I've been spotted."
I mean. The guards saw you squatting under a tremendously bright ball of light, then you pulled out a bottle and took a swig and turned invisible, then a ball of fire erupted from under the not-invisible ball of light and set a bunch of beehives ablaze.
Pretty sure Ulfr the Blind could've solved this mystery, mate.
You weren't making noise thanks to muffle, but you did have a great big bloody light above your head, as always, also you took the potion of invisibility before casting, but doing anything breaks the spell revealing you, so no Jon you weren't invisible when they were detecting you -1 perception for not noticing your own hands reappearing
Just found your channel and I'm loving it! You're just feeding my TH-cam addiction with your nice, frequent uploads :D
Jon, keep the Thieve's Guild armor if you want to properly finish the quest. The quest bugs if you don't have it
Jon, if you do lots of thieves guild jobs they improve the guild and you get some nice merchants to sell stuff and 4000 gold vendors in major cities that buy anything
Word of advice Jon, fireball is never going to be silent, since it explodes on impact. With your quiet casting what you'd wanna use is firebolt as that will only be noticed if it lands basically at someone's feet
Jon your perception, can't even tell when he's no longer invisible 😂
Bees are our friends.
Bees make honey.☺
Why can't my comments
Ever be funny?
My way or the Ratway...
Perfect pun Jon..
"We need you to teach a lesson to them by burning down three of the estate's hives."
"Ah, doesn't sound too difficult so far! What's the catch?"
The hives are full of bees.
Jon! You keep trying to be sneaky with a glowing ball of light hovering over you!
6:14 I refuse to believe that the timing on this happened as perfectly as it did.
Been waiting for this to be uploaded all flipping evening!
Jon look at your inventory. You've got some things of Mercer's.
Solid wall near that second entrance to the sewers. You could swim up, but it's extremely hard to climb up the wall there, even exploiting physics. The tunnel lets you cross the island invisibly.
Also, there's a unique thing you want to grab inside Aringoth's Room. Of course it's only worth money and you've got enough.
In the Star Trek VR episodes I think I recall "Operation Euthanasia", but the Thieves Guild are "bad people". Also Jon, it is a bit "cheaty" but on your bow using runs you can get infinite Dragonbone arrows in the thieves guild. Reverse pickpocket a single dragonbone arrow into everyones inventory and when the practice they fire dragonbone arrows
I wish i could forget everything about skyrim and completely replay it
Jon I got a tip for you when you steal from places the thief guild has signals put up around the place.
Like the tombstone the diamond and circle means safe
Jon. Look more in Helga's Bunkhouse. And talk to her niece. Please, Jon!
"Beeutiful" john says when he burns the bee hives
I love this series so much.
The Thieves Guild quests can be quite interesting. You missed some minor story-related stuff by not doing the optional part of the quest/snooping, I believe. But it's not important enough to be worth going back for.
Two points on the Stealth front:
One, Invisibility breaks if you interact with anything. Opening doors, attacking, talking to people, casting spells, shouting, picking things up, the moment you do any one of them the Invisibility effect ends. It's really useful for moving about stealthily and positioning stealth kills, but you need to be careful about breaking it unintentionally.
Two, when going for stealth kills with daggers, dual wield them and power attack. You'll usually get at least two stealth hits in, if not more. Essentially, it'll double the already huge amount of damage you'll be doing.
Jon, I don't know if it's been fixed in this version but without spoilers here's a warning. when doing any part of this quest line ALWAYS let the NPC's leave the room before you do. I had the entire quest line break because I walked out the loading screen door before the NPC. so just on the safe side just let all the NPC's leave before you do.
Thieves guild questline starts better than ends. Also, Jon is literally the worst burglar ever. "Lets pick that lock... Oooh... what is that building? Oooh, what is that cave? Oooh, what is that city? Oooh... a dungeon... lets check it out" :)
Also... Jon kills everyone in Black Briar Lodge and laughs. But when he kills that one guy he feels bad about it. Hm...
Jon, you should adopt some children once you get a house because if you sleep in your bed if you have adopted children, then you get a buff which increases the power of healing potions and spells.
Uses an invisibility potion and immediately casts a spell to deactivate it... #JustJonThings
aww poor Benor standing on a dock waiting for his true love to return
I knew I recognized that voice! Mercer Frey is voiced by Stephen Russell, the voice of Nick Valentine!
I kind of like how, even though its vague and a bit of a stretch, the three deadbeats solutions are:
- Bribe the lady with her own statue.
- Intimidate the owner of the shop by smashing his urn.
- Persuade the inn keeper to come to her senses.
My first time doing the Goldenglow quest a dragon showed up and burned all the hives.
Mercer still thought is was my fault...
BTW when you do the honeyglow estate mission (if you don't do it in this video) try going as a werewolf. Lots of enemies to just slaughter through instead of sneaking, it's always good fun. But sneak anyway through the sewer or back out of it before you leave because I think there is a skill book down there.
Any sort of interaction with the world cancels invisibility, such as casting spells Jon.
Oops
"... these are bad people..." No duh Jon, THIEVESguild...
"Mom! Jon's wallhacking again!"
Jon "I think one of the rats set off a tripwire or something" while able to see the set off tripwire 2 feet in front of him... 36:06
Know what would be fun? Seeing the Dragonborn in the fallout 4 universe, or the Sole survivor in Skyrim. Shout Cyclone at a Vertibird in flight and watch the Hilarity ensue. Soul Survivor takes out a dragon with an Exploding Mingun then eats it with the cannibal perk.
Maybe I will do a fanfic one day ;)
Jon, there's a nice little quest you can do if you speak to Haelga's assistant in the bunkhouse/hotel
That lexicon must be evil it looks like a Sith Holocron
Normally lighting mods make things darker. I've never seen the Ragged Flagon so well lit!
Jon don't forget to put mercer stuff back into his locked house otherwise the thieves guild arc will be broken. You know, the one you INSISTED breaking into even though it was locked.
Well, that guy was a mercenary, he knew what he was getting in to when he signed up for the job.
You're going to need to get one of those sets of armor back eventually. Well, "need" sn't accurate, but it's one of the few things that actually makes you feel like you are rising through the ranks.
You should really start the Dark Brotherhood quest to get the gloves that double sneak attack damage, which stacks with the dagger perk you have and means you'll deal 30x DMG on a sneak attack.
Do the Dark brotherhood as well please. It's the best Questline in the game. And don't be afraid of doing it, even if you can't sneak properly, yet. They are more fun with stealth I think, but it perfectly possible without it.
It's good to know I wasn't the only evil mage who assassinated people by making them attack others. "Not my fault, I was just minding my business and suddenly this guy starts attacking everyone."
Gotta love the abundance of dialogue options Bethesda's known for.....
If you don't have the throw voice shout, a bow and arrow can be used for the same thing. But there's always the temptation to become a sneaky archer.
Jon, you ran over that tripwire. Stop blaming the poor skeevers you're slaughtering!
part of finishing the thieves guild is doing 5 extra quest from vex and delvin in each of the holds. it is a lot of work to be the top thief!
Correct me if I am wrong, but if you'd equip Benor with Predator's Grace boots he would benefit from muffle effect==1.0 so his moves will be silenced. Also you can buy a pair of boots with muffle effect and just disenchant them. As far as I know all the custom made muffle boots also have muffle effect value ==1.0, even if you use petty soul gem.
Merced Frey "let's test your skills" lol you literally broke into his house already killed his guards and stole his plans b4 even knowing who he was
*Clearly trips a wire* "One of the rats has caused problems!"
Casting spells breaks invisibility, so does have a fucking glow orb of light hovering above you at all times. Jon is the worst at stealth. Also each mission has a unique item you can sell and you missed this one. It was a cool golden bee in the owners room.
1:31 that guys wearing a bandolier! i thought that was only in the add-on!
Joins a guild called The Thieves Guild
After first quest
Jon: i dont think these are good people
Seriously Jon what did you expect?
Destroys the hive, says 'Bee-utiful'. :-)
You were meant to enter the sewers in the way you came out from. Using the sewers that way would grant you easier access to the hives as well as an effective and efficient escape route.
The only way to go up like that shaft is so be a vampire lord and use the bats to shift up and skip to the Skyrim door.
