I have too many tripods but I have been wanting to try something like the mantispod. For now, my favorite is the Ulanzi MT-44. I like it because I can use it as both a vlogging/selfie stick and a 44" tripod. I though it was too big at first and got the MT-16, but because it is larger/thicker it actually helps keep your hand more stable when vlogging. It is not very stable at 44" but you can use it if you are careful, especially with the Pocket 3. I can walk and vlog and then stop and use it as a tripod wherever I'm at and let the Pocket 3 track me or get a static shot. Rinse and repeat.
I never understood the success of these tripods after the gorilla tripod models that are sturdy and way more versatile. It feels like some buying addiction amongst content creators.
I have a gorilla tripod and I kindof agree. The problem with mine is that the quick release mechanism jiggles and you can hear it. I think they sell a pro model that has a higher quality ball head module. I have several other tripods though--too many. They are like Leatherman tools for creators and it CAN get ridiculous. They make different ones that have one extra feature that the other one doesn't!
