We all love Kyle...but it makes me happy when he is confident enough to turn the keys over to Jordan. He does a great job, and I feel like we are getting twice the content of Kyle having to cover every car.
It's conservative media and Tesla fanboy fake news sites which want to make you believe that the future is far away. Legacy manufacturers are scaling EVs at a very fast pace and the technology and engineering is fantastic
These SUV’s are nearly identical twins so it’s funny to listen to people swear - this one looks great, but that one is one of the ugliest things ever. Uh, sure…ok.
I love that BMW is not scared to go with controversial designs. Also if I don’t like them always but at least not as boring as other car brands. Therefore I am quite sure we will see a lot of those concept elements in the production car. As my i4 lease will end in two years, this will probably the car I will go for.
Before watching the video: Having seen the final car (in prototype state), be prepared for something good. I think BMW has made the right choices at the right time by 1) getting a lot of first experience with EVs early on with a radical concept, 2) bringing more mass market EVs with ICE platform sharing in the ramp up phase while other EV only platform cars are struggling (Mercedes for example) to save cost and not be hit hard with varying demand and 3) go all in when the market is getting bigger and more important overall by once again bringing a more extreme and dedicated concept. And I also like that they want to keep their own identity alive, possibly losing a bit of range with a less rounded styling, but therefore being unique and identifiable and also true to their legacy. I think this strategy will be a success.
Nice work Jordan. Loving your presentation style. It’s a good thing you’ve been able to hit the road a little and help the evolution of the channels. Clearly you have creative bones. That’s what’s needed. Keep it coming. Any future road trips with Frank? Feeling a little sorry for her right now. Stuck with the VF8 in a place which is a charging desert. Y’all better let the girl out so she can join ya. (That was my best American impression. Coming from the UK. Apologies if it offends)
Both vehicles are gorgeous. Once again BMWs I would love to own. I had BMWs for 20 years. For the last 7 years we’ve been on a break. Maybe in a couple years we can be reacquainted.
I have not been impressed with many of the vehicles from BMW for many years. This is impressive. Clean and modern. I think both Neue Klass cars are amazing.
I agree, much nicer than most of what they have designed in recent times. Not sure why the hood is so long and high for an EV? What is in that huge space?
BMW did annouce, 46xxx cells for the first Neue Klasse EVs build in Europe (iX3 in Hungary and the i3 in Germany) will be sourced from CATL and EVE Power. Same cell providers in China. US/Mexico cell providers weren't announced yet as far as I know. Wasn't the announcement with Rimac about pack design or battery pack production? Since BMW will be producing battery packs in Hungary as well as in Germany for the Neue Klasse, it seems the Rimac collaboration might be BMW M related? Btw, Rimac is also sourcing battery cells from Eve for their 46xx battery pack, which they presented last year. Check also the Eve Power and StoreDot connection.
Correct, the Rimac collaboration is about pack design and propably related to the BMW M models. The 4695 cells and 46120 have been designed by BMW and produced by other manufacturers like CATL. The cells will be build to packs in Hungary by BMW
Quite like this one. For once I actually am optimistic about an upcoming bmw. I like the face on the suv better than the sedan. They should go with the front of the suv on the sedan. That would actually look quite nice. Also, I would prefer it if the grill wasn’t illuminated.
Really sweet design language in my opinion. I am with Jordan. BMW has really struggled with their design look for many years. The proportionality is off and the designs look odd. This looks modern yet balanced to my eye. In terms of the interior, I particularly like how they are handling the screens in the car. Would love for them to release a SUV/sedan with the ability to move forward and back the rear seats to give i7 legroom when you need it at the price of rear storage. Also hoping BMW comes out with their version of Porsche's active suspension management system (PASM).
I don't think cybertruck and ix hate is anywhere related. On the one had one is about looks, the other is about looks, material choice, safety concerns, and more.
A few days ago I had a chance to check out the IX1, 2 and 3 in HK, the IX1 and 2 seems to be on a new platform what the IX3 seems like an ICE platform. All 3 of them were tight in the rear seat when sitting behind myself (@173cm/5' 8"), the IX on a EV platform was a little better but, for that size of vehicle it was disappointing. Looking at how the setup the rear seat here, BMW seems to want to continue the trend of small packaging in the rear and trunk. EV platform allows them to provide more cabin space, let's hope the final product is not like ICE vehicles.
They don't have much choice with chrome at the EU is banning the main production method, just like California. They won't even be allowed to import chromed parts to the EU.
The next gen m3 will ve full electric, the next gen m5 is hybrid, and the next gen X5 is going to ve hybrid as well, people complaining about BMW design, they don't understand BMW makes car for the future
I think BMW is smart to have fast turnaround on models considering how incredibly quickly the EV market is currently evolving. The iX is a great vehicle but four years on it will start to taste a bit stale...viola, a new one in 2025 I like it, that strategy, ( & the actual vehicle too.)
What people demand and what they need may be two different things but people know what they demand. And most people aren't charging enthusiast that look forward to as many charging stops as possible. Crossing America 80 miles at a time is a PITA.
Finally, BMW is back to some clean and well-proportioned design after 25 years of Bangle / van Hooydonk crap...!!! This is really a great relief. Perhaps, they better give the sedan also the small kidney signature of the X-SAV car... Sadly, they screw up the electric MINI exterior designs, now, as seen at the China Auto Show... It appears to they should support more of the Design Works people and kick out a bunch of people in the German exterior design studio. The interior design of BMW and MINI is great, though, imo.
Now this is still a concept car, but this car can look very close to this with the production car. I’m specifically talking about the interior, but the exterior I feel the same way. To me, the interior does modern minimalist design right for a “Luxury” vehicle. This it what kills me about Tesla interior. It gets the job done, but for 100k plus, I need some plush!
Please get rid of the kidney grills on the EVs, Mercedes used to be synonymous with hood ornaments and they got rid of them on many of their cars. No one cares about the kidney grill design, the logo is fine
"Some hits - some misses" I don´t like any of the latest BMW´s, but wow - they pushed the enveloped, changed car design drastically over time. The sign of good new design is that its provokative, that many don´t like it first, then it sinks in and others start to copy, to like it. Saying - the first time for 20 years there is no BMW I would like to buy. And I had many. These concepts are very promising.
Part of what you said is not true… AI doesn’t design anything new. All AI does is take what already exist and combines aspects of different concepts and spits something out… all based on concepts that already exists. It does NOT create anything new or fresh designs.
Wouldn't actually mind the front end if the 'grill' height was shrunk to the height of the front lights, ala 1980s - 2000s years, instead of the unmistakable 'pig nose' appearance here.
Funny to see all these "experts" really more like critic know it all's lol, Dislike the the iM/iX design and or styling while quote "loving this new class design? absolutely stupid comment. side profile of this new class suv is the same as the much hated iX. Just amazed by all these quick on the keyboard experts lol. I like both, including the beaver tooth as all the wagon hoopers have named it.
I can guarantee you that the production version will just barely resemble this concept. They will remove all the cool stuff (big wheels, nice proportions etc) and add practicality/manufacturability. Just look at EQS and its concept.
3:37 The front of the new sedan Neue Klasse concept is much nicer and more successful of a design than this SUV Neue Klasse X thing. The kidney grill needs to go.
We all love Kyle...but it makes me happy when he is confident enough to turn the keys over to Jordan. He does a great job, and I feel like we are getting twice the content of Kyle having to cover every car.
So nuts these fake articles pop up saying BMW is ditching EVs....while this month they produced their 1 millionth EV 😁
It's conservative media and Tesla fanboy fake news sites which want to make you believe that the future is far away. Legacy manufacturers are scaling EVs at a very fast pace and the technology and engineering is fantastic
Tesla is going bankrupt next month!
I just saw a TH-cam vid about it. Weird thing is, it was dated 4/1/2018? Weird.
These SUV’s are nearly identical twins so it’s funny to listen to people swear - this one looks great, but that one is one of the ugliest things ever. Uh, sure…ok.
Not only that but tripled their sales.
I love that BMW is not scared to go with controversial designs. Also if I don’t like them always but at least not as boring as other car brands. Therefore I am quite sure we will see a lot of those concept elements in the production car. As my i4 lease will end in two years, this will probably the car I will go for.
Same!
I know from a very direct source that the concept is basically the production car :)
Looks fantastic! Just bought an ID7, but this will definitely be my new car ❤
Before watching the video:

Thanks! Could you say somthing about the (final) sedan?
@@VolkerTrue I can't say more than that I liked what I saw, it's all secret 🤐😉
The design doesn't compromise the range, the opposite actually this will be within best in class in terms of aerodynamics
erm... my guy the mercedes platforms are very similar to one another and are produced on the same production line. The difference there is minimal
But the price ?😂
these look nice, glad to see dedicated electric platforms from bmw again

I have a new car goal...One Rivian R2 and one Neue Klasse Model 3 electric. Can't wait for the charging network in the US to support it.
Just stunning! Easily the best-looking BMW in recent memory. More AI please, BMW!
Not a tall order...
Disagree. I liked the Neue Klasse - without the X. But the X sucks. I DO NOT WANT ANOTHER EFFING SUV!
@@billsweatt5252same concise. The sedan will be much better.
This looks so much better than the current IX models. The grille reminds me of the old BMW 2002 series.
This looks really good.
The design is clean and lean. It is phenomenal !
Huge improvement in looks over the IX!
I have not been impressed with many of the vehicles from BMW for many years. This is impressive. Clean and modern. I think both Neue Klass cars are amazing.
I truly think this is an excellent design and look, should be a hot seller if the spec, interior quietness, driving dynamics holds to BMW bench marks!
Correction Jordan - NHTSA approved matrix led headlights in the US on February 2022. Just checked on NHTSA's website.
I agree, much nicer than most of what they have designed in recent times. Not sure why the hood is so long and high for an EV? What is in that huge space?
I actually like this and it’s a throwback to the 70’s BMW grills
Yep, BMW kidney grill started vertically and overtime got horizontal.
I like almost everything about it design-wise except for the (smaller) beaver teeth.
Also, that’s the Century City skyline not LA’s.
🦫
Large greenhouse is good. Curious if the pillars can be so thin.
That is a gorgeous vehicle.
I watched an in depth walk around review of this and a lot of what you see may make to production.
Where did you watch it?

I love my i4. I do love this style, too. The tail light protrusions are a little unsettling, though.
I think the design of this car I spot on.looks great, I hope it’ll look close to this when released.
Just a few nitpicks, the Rimac partnership shouldn't apply to the Neue Klasse batteries. And the smaller cell is 4695.
BMW did annouce, 46xxx cells for the first Neue Klasse EVs build in Europe (iX3 in Hungary and the i3 in Germany) will be sourced from CATL and EVE Power. Same cell providers in China. I've struggled to really like any BMW since the Z8, but I think this new design language is really appealing
I think it looks super cool. I can't wait to see it IRL :)
I like it, I need to see it in person but it looks a heck of a lot better than the XM/iX
And Jordan your work is awesome :)
This actually looks miles better than the iX. Although I'll for sure stick with my Macan4 EV order
BMW, Mercedes, Porsche, Audi is the Future👍
Great design, do not change and bring it into serial production, good to see that
Definitely getting one when my IX40 lease finishes 2026 so I'll order next year 👍
I’m liking the design, specifically the more vertical application of the kidney grilles. IMO, more desirable than Q6 e-tron, EQE, and Model Y
The side profile looks great, that's about it.
The Apple Touch Bar lives again! Can wait to try it out since I never had that era of MacBook.
Even as someone that has a love and hate relationship with the current BMW designs, I do like this new direction.
That interior and color looks like modern 60s. What's the other choice avocado green?
Quite like this one. For once I actually am optimistic about an upcoming bmw.

BMW interior revolution started with iX. I hope they will keep this interior concept to the finish product.
Looks Uber awesome. Great design.
I really like the Neue Klasse designs! Would definitely jump from Tesla to BMW if they have NACS and access to Superchargers.

They can just use a method that doesn't cause lung cancer, only issue is that would eat into their profits...
I'm looking forward to seeing how this turns out.

Please remove digital side mirrors.. So ugly on Audi E-tron, doubt it will be any better for this.
