Thank u very for the video! My baby is almost 9 month old. Ive noticed that the strap is verrryy tight on his thighs. But when i loosen it becomes too loose that he can get out of the carseat. Ive remove the wedge and he looks more comfortable. So can i remove the wedge now? My baby is pretty tall considering his age
As long as the shoulder strap are low enough, ie level with the shoulders, you don’t need the wedge anymore. If without the wedge the straps are still too high and can’t go any lower, it will need to stay in for a bit longer.
Hi, this is super helpful. My daughter is 3 months 1 week but is on the 91st centile for height and weight. I recently purchased this car seat but the straps don’t fit on her shoulders, would you recommend removing the head support? She has a large size head but doesn’t have full control yet. Thank you
I will be honest, I find this seat very difficult to use for younger babies. It’s great when they’re older but I think the inserts are a pain. For a big three month-old you can probably remove the head insert, but if there is too much room around her head you can try taking the headrest up one click.
The recline is not set by age, it's more to do with how sloped the seats in your car are. For a newborn up to about four/five months you need to use the most reclined setting until they can hold their head up. After that it is safer in a crash to be as upright as possible, so I would install the seat with just enough recline to keep their head up when they're asleep, but not recline it too much.
Thank you for the video. The information is exactly what I've been looking for.
You are very welcome!
Thank you very much. This is the practical explanation I was looking for!
Great video!! Had no idea when to remove thr inserts. My almost 8 month has been looking a bit snug recently.

This was very informative. How about the incline. There are 6 different levels, which incline should a newborn, 4-6, 6-9 month etc be?

Thanks for this info, my baby is a big boy and the average measures doesnt fit for him!
This is such a helpful video!! I’ve been looking for this kind of explanation for months!! Thank you so much🤍
You're so welcome! These inserts can be confusing and the advice conflicting. I hope this will help to clear up any confusion once and for all.
What setting should the head restraint be in for an 8 month old ?
There are no set settings by age, because babies aren't all the same size. The straps should be level with the shoulders or just below.
So helpful, thank you! X
You're very welcome!
