Statistics, and I currently work in a mid size audit firm, pursuing a professional certificate in accountancy. However, I'm planning on doing my masters, kindly give a professional advice on best choice of course to do. Thank you
The best course is going to be the one that helps your career aspirations. It can be very country specific too - so perhaps speak with the accounting professional body in your country.
I used SQL a lot and I think Python is a good language for the future - especially for those who want to do more data analytics work, or analytics work to support audit. But like learning any new language - it is going to be tough!

Thanks a lot for sharing this ma'am. I recently passed my CPA exams and I am considering to pursue further education in Data Analytics. Do i need to learn the basics of coding. I am sorry if this is not a relevant question.
Hi Vivek - congratulations on passing your exams! Most analytics courses don’t require programming knowledge as a pre-requisite. If you’re going into Data Science as opposed to Data Analytics - then yes - programming is essential ☺️
Hi AL - I guess it depends on where you want your career to go - even in the area of finance where analyzing large data sets for patterns on which trading strategies can be built is a form of data analytics.
@@amandalovestoaudit I am not sure where I want to go because there are so many options but I do know I don't think financial reporting is for me. I find it a bit too technical for me and I don't have a passion for it.

Hi Gavrit - perhaps it is how your CV/resume or LinkedIn is put together? Does your university offer careers advice? Have you been networking with other CAs? I’m not sure what recruiters are looking for in your country - but in Australia it is partly academics, but also showing involvement with extra curricular activities.
@@amandalovestoaudit thanks for your reply, Actually the programming part I've learnt myself and accounting/auditing/taxation was what I cleared the exam provided by institute of chartered accountants. Right now due to covid pandemic the articleship opportunities have reduced but I was looking for something wherein I can apply my my data analytics skills in my domain
It is tough to get a job anywhere right now 😢. The advice I have for everyone is persistence - keep improving, learning, growing your network and applying for jobs
Most firms will not have any expectations that you have experience in a specific software package besides Microsoft Office products such as Word, Excel etc. If you graduate from a Data Analytics program - then they would expect something like PowerBI, Tableau, knowing how to code Python,
I mean to say I m graduated from charted accountancy program so having a certification in data analysis will increase my chances of having higher salary Although I don't have any work experience
Your explanation makes me more understand why we (accounting students) should learn about data analysis because it is quite not relate to accounting directly. Thank you, Ma'am 🌺
Hi Sumeet - absolutely! We’ve always used basic data analytics like Ratio Analysis in helping us identify risks - but we could certainly do more. In response to risks - this might mean that DA allows us to test an entire population easily to identify misstatements, or search the population for exceptions more easily - then we can manually investigate.
Love your videos but I regret doing accounting and I highly recommend international students in Australia not to do accounting. Almost no one will hire you. I'm in my final year, HD average and I'm not even able to secure an internship even though I'm ready to work for free. The biggest regret of my life is ACCOUNTING degree in Australia :(
Hi Dinesh - I'm sorry to hear you're having a hard time - it is extremely difficult for international students to get that first job. Have you connected with CA and CPA's mentoring programs? Please feel free to email me or message me on LinkedIn and I'd be happy to try and help you make some connections.

Should I study data science or data analytics? Im planning on shifting from my audit career to somewhere like data analytics or data scientist. but idk which to choose?
Depends on how technical you want to get - if you love to code and go in depth - I'd say data science over data analytics 😊
@@amandalovestoaudit guess I’ll go with data science then :) thanks for the response really appreciate it, also may i ask, do I need to do a separate course or something on maths since it has some elements of maths in it? P.S I’m close to conpleting my CPA exams so I have a background knowledge on all of the accounting related stuff except for deeper mathematics stuff
@@sonalpunchihewa9273 hey, I am in same situation right now, can you suggest me if I have to choose data analytics or Data science I have 5 years of experience in audit field! I am an undergraduate!
Hello Amanda,
All your videos I've watched so far have been really expository.
I have bsc.
Amanda, I can't help it that I say "big day-ta" :'( Anyway love ya thanks for the help!
I complete my graduation and wanted to pursue ACCA. Should I go for data analytics certification course or ACCA and then this course.
Please suggest.
Fantastic, thanks so much for sharing. This has helped me a lot
Thanks for watching :)
Hey Amanda :) , hope you are well. What is your take on SQL and Python languages for Accountants?
I used SQL a lot and I think Python is a good language for the future - especially for those who want to do more data analytics work, or analytics work to support audit. But like learning any new language - it is going to be tough!
madam, what is the difference between management accountant and data scientist?
I thought you are 24 years old until you talked about the IDEA tool!!!!
Lol - almost double that age! IDEA is a fantastic tool
@@amandalovestoaudit Thank you for all
In the PWC course, how can I audit the course?, I'm unable to access it without paying first
Unfortunately the PwC one isn’t free. The KPMG Inside Sherpa program is ☺️
Which is the best institute for learning Data Analytics course?
It depends on what country you are in. In Australia - one of the best courses is the Master of Data Science and Innovation at UTS.
I want to learn data analytics in India. Data science would be more of engineering part.
Thank you so much
You’re welcome 😊 thanks for watching!
I love this! Thank You! My latest passion is data analytics and I'm an accounting major planning to go into auditing..didn't realize these two married together are amazing! Thank you, definitely subscribed to your channel :)
Accounting IS analytics - we should take advantage of that ☺️
Thanks a lot, mam😄
You’re welcome Malla!
Great timing. I'm almost done my CPA and considering if I should study the CFA or get some certification in data analytics.
@@Jeebus0143 hi did u find any course?
hi amanda your video was very helpful. I'm a CA finalist and have learnt python mysql tableau machine learning but not able to get any internship that is a combination of accounts/audit/tax and data analytics/machine learning domain
Can you suggest same
Thanks in advance
Hi Gavrit - perhaps it is how your CV/resume or LinkedIn is put together? Does your university offer careers advice?
Have you been networking with other CAs?
I’m not sure what recruiters are looking for in your country - but in Australia it is partly academics, but also showing involvement with extra curricular activities.

thanks for your reply,
Actually the programming part I've learnt myself and accounting/auditing/taxation was what I cleared the exam provided by institute of chartered accountants.

Thanks for your reply
can u tell what will be the minimum package for people having ACCA qualification and data analytics with no experiance i.e. just graduated
Excel knowledge is essential!
@@amandalovestoaudit i asked about package
Most firms will not have any expectations that you have experience in a specific software package besides Microsoft Office products such as Word, Excel etc. If you graduate from a Data Analytics program - then they would expect something like PowerBI, Tableau, knowing how to code Python,
I mean to say I m graduated from charted accountancy program so having a certification in data analysis will increase my chances of having higher salary
Although I don't have any work experience
Your explanation makes me more understand why we (accounting students) should learn about data analysis because it is quite not relate to accounting directly.
Thank you, Ma'am 🌺
You’re welcome Arland!
Thanks
You're welcome :)
DataR analytics
Do you think #amanda, there is scope of incorporation in ASA 315 or ASA 330 for data analytics for Assessment and responses to assessed risk .
Is she saying "dataR"?

@@amandalovestoaudit That's really kind of you, I have sent a request on LinkedIn :)
