Can you use something like DBT with fabric so we can query data in one language? Like I've never used T-SQL or Spark-SQL but know postgreSQL can't I just use that? Also I'm a bit confused, it sounds like fabric is a suite of tools. Can you add other Azure tools onto it like putting it behind a VNET or some Azure ML products or ingest to OneLake via postgreSQL from a backend or dump and read a DuckDB table? Like PostgreSQL and DuckDB is everywhere right now. If any of this is possible a video would be appreciated. You should also discuss fibric cost for small orgs < 50people. Like if I used fabric it would only be for the semantic layer allowing you to reuse models in PowerBI. I don't need half of the other features like KSQL, would I still pay for them to run 24/7 or are they sleeping in inactive containers. That's another thing can you put fabric in an Azure container or config it with Dapr or is that abstracted away? Like what happens if you do a SaaS analytics app with fabric and want to serve customer1's data to customer1 only and customer2's data to customer2 only, don't you have to deploy a new fabric instance for each customer? #fireemoji
More in 40 mins than I have seen in months of trying to work this out. Finally someone speaking who has a brain bigger than Fabric and can see it as a whole.
Have been trying to understand the emergence of fabric over the last year and how it could benefit my users. What you have done in mins is better than all of the MS attempts to explain it. This shouldn't be a course but plastered on the fabric site. Well done for being so articulate
I feel very lucky to have found your videos on TH-cam. As a beginner to Fabric, your videos and the Skool website are truly precious to me. I no longer feel confused trying to study plenty of scattered resources. Your step-by-step explanations mean so much to my learning journey. Thank you so much!
This is in all honesty the best Fabric introduction I've seen and I'm going to borrow the structure for my own presentation. ❤🔥 (Isn't this a fire emoji btw?)
The amount of thinking that's gone into this is unreal... you've aligned the low level with the enterprise level, and the user experience with the value prop, all while keeping true to the solution's structure... not an easy feat. MASSIVE PROPS!!!!
Million Thanks to you. In 38 min you have summarized 13 hours of Learning Modules for Fabric Analytics Engineer. DP600. Thank you so much for your valuable time and creating this video.
Glad you found it helpful! Although you will need to learn more than what is covered in this video to pass the DP-600, I’m sure! Good luck with the exam ☺️
Will the simplifier! Thanks again. I remember taking your course on Power BI and that started my journey into deep Power BI analytics. Simplicity and Clarity. Fabrics brings it all together! Thanks for being a powerful resource for the MS BI Stack Community
Even i have been a member of Skool community, still love learning fabric here. This is the best introduction and overview of Fabric and i really enjoy it, thank you Will for you hardwork and sharing.
Microsoft, please get guidelines from this guy how to make a presentations easy using Microsoft tools. Thank you so much for making me understand the FABRIC with in 38 minutes. each minute is worth watching and listening.
I am working on dataverse link with fabric by learning day by day through microsoft documentation, but once I saw this video its like a wow.. What a explanation, best teaching pattern, this i will take for our internal workshop
🔥🔥🔥 thank you for the explanation of fabric! I’m an IT procurement professional and although I understand business I’m working to learn more about IT innovations as well. I’ll send this to my team as we utilize Microsoft extensively in our organization.
🔥🔥🔥 Finally found someone who has explained all the basics so well in such a short span truly amazing introduction cant wait to explore and learn more from the skool content you have shared
I really loved how you structured the topics and presented in a subtle pace for the viewers to understand. Thanks for this video. Looking to go through more of your videos. 🔥🔥
Amazing, just wow I finished watching your videos, and I'm truly impressed! Your presentation style is engaging, Your explanations were clear, concise, and easy to follow. and the way you explain complex concepts makes them much easier to understand. I appreciate how you broke down complex concepts into manageable chunks, and it helped me to understand the basics. The visuals and examples you provided with this entire series helped solidify my understanding. Thank you for sharing your expertise , Looking forward to more great content from you!"
Wow, what a great overview, it's been so useful, and thank you for your time putting this together. Have you considered doing a paid Microsoft Fabric course, I think it would be popular.
This is just amazing! Could you please soon upload a guided project for beginners who wants to master fabric? i can quite understand the concept and theory now because you explained it so well. now I would like to see a real life scenario where i can also follow you doing the project to get a clearer picture and solidify the knowledge
Please note: the second method i mentioned at around 33:30 for getting access to Fabric does not currently work. Last week Microsoft PAUSED giving free access to a E5 sandbox via the M365 Developer account. I will monitor the situation and create a video on the options you might have if you don't have access to FAbric through your company. Read more here: devblogs.microsoft.com/microsoft365dev/stay-ahead-of-the-game-with-the-latest-updates-to-the-microsoft-365-developer-program/
A nice intro, thank you. Another aspect that it would be great to understand is the difference between Fabric features and their standalone equivalents in Azure. Like - what's the difference in capability between Azure ML and Synapse Data Science, or between ADX and Synapse Realtime Analytics etc
I'm still quite new to teaching, but trying hard to improve and think about how best to communicate these (sometimes difficult!) topics. So your comment means a lot - thank you!
Wow, MS created a solution for problems they raised in the first place with their cloud tools, how innovative. With MS you never run out of work as a Developer (being there for 30 years now). But very good tutorial though, well done.
Thank you so much for this, I was looking for something like this kind of video from a long time on Microsoft Fabric...you are just amazing...keep doing great work...best wishes.
