With that joke, you can tell how good are they are as friends. Its not a bad joke. Im sure Jokoy loved it.
That face of Will Ferrel. He felt bad for Jokoy so he did not laugh out loud since he knew what happened behind the scenes. Jokoy should have known better because getting hired ten days before the show meant he was a last minute replacement and bottom of the barrel choice.

Not sure why people are so hung up on Taylor Swift's reaction. If she can't take a joke, too bad. As for Chelsea Handler, great way to make herself relevant for again. If only for a few minutes.

I'd like to think that they're still friends because they've known each for so long. She's probably doing him a favor keeping him relevant and just playing him for fun. Jo Koy is pretty much respected in the comedy world and a lot of comedians are supporting him. They're all just probably giving him a proverbial slap in the back "you bombed bro" and laughing to his face because he's quietly shaking his head in denial 😂. And she's trying to get him to admit he bombed. But there is something interesting here to take note of, and i kinda feel that they want to prove something:
- she is a white woman, he is an asian man and we know he struggled in his career bec of that.
- she got laughs, he didn't; john mulaney had laughs
- they both had writers so is she making a point that he really had bad writers?
- she played as host before, he hasn't
- she makes raunchy jokes on men, he mentions boobies and all hell breaks loose 🙄 (do they realize that they're all hypocrites?)

People shouldnt get easily offended by Jo Koy because he's really a funny comedian and that he was just not in his element at the GG. His unfiltered hysterics were even entertaining and refreshing. I actually laughed so hard when he scolded his audience - coz that's the real roasting and ranting style we all know.
Taylor's a poor sport. She should have just laughed it off. Everyone loves a person that can laugh at themselves.

In this world in which we live, there will always be criticism from people, both ways, going and coming. On the other hand, reading that most artists and comedians need at least 6 months for preparation on a big event like this, 11 days it was all was given to Jokoy. I rather admire his courage and professionalism in taking this deal. Comedians will always be sarcastic, and if people take offense on a simple joke from a professional comedian, then is simply a lack of human understanding. Tearing down any human being for his efforts and performance is rather easy. Building people up takes courage and kindness. Are we all becoming like Will Smith, slapping on the face our comedians? That's what they do for living. Come on, give our stand up comedians a break!
They can be stand up comedians without insulting someone, just make the joke about themselves or something else entirely, when there are several people who don't laugh in the audience or get slap upset maybe we need to address what's been said and done on stage and maybe it shouldn't have been said, and we do live in a world to where change is happening and we have to be mindfull of others

People are going through a lot now, and we can steer the jokes away from people's flaws, there are a lot of actors/and producers that slap look pissed after some of there demeaning jokes and that just doesn't sit well with me! It just gives me a 2nd grade school type bullying vibe is all . .but I know a lot of people still like the way they do these jokes, and some are funny but at what expense.
You know what's real funny? The part where Jo Koy was in St. Louis, Missouri, where he did his first stand up gig since hosting the Golden Globes and called out Hollywood and woke society Marshmallows because they are soft, Jo Koy got a massive cheers and standing ovation from the audience and laughing. Another funny but cool moment is when a audience got up and said F***'em (referring to the haters) it was also in several news headlines recently

I think that audience was all wrong and the actors at the GG don’t have to laugh when they are getting insulted with jokes that are not funny, clever or classy. He needs to grow a pair not them.

You can't say it's the writers fault, then say people are marshmellows. It's one, or the other. He just doesn't want to accept he bombed. He wasn't *that* funny. None of his jokes (regardless of how offensive, or non-offensive they were) were really funny. He was funnier on the "I love the 70s, 80s, 90s" show on MTV. It had nothing to do with the writers, or being a marshmellow. He just wasn't great.
Also, regardless of how good, or bad he is, he's unprofessional. You don't just start whining that it's the writers fault (multiple times mind you) while you're still performing your monologue. A *real* and professional comedian would have kept going, or if they really wanted to address it, would make a joke about it, not just whine, "it's not my fault" over and over again when you keep bombing.

I felt a hint of sympathy for Jokoy from Will Ferrel seeing his polite smile instead of really laughing. Comedians, especially past hosts have been the most empathetic to him during this ordeal. I don't know what Chelsea truly feels, but there are better things than taking a tempting bait.
Seriously? A mature person wouldn’t go along with a bad joke EVEN if some dumb cunt wrote it for them mate. Will Ferrel is a good lad and him not reacting in the logical sense, was because Jo (whoever the heck that is) is a fellow comedian so if he did laugh, I can sense Jo would’ve felt offended by one of his own community. He’s Chelsea’s ex for a reason, I think her joke said everything and more that the world needed for some *low key* closure.

Yep, Will Ferrel knew that Jokoy (someone I haven't heard of before like this Chelsea Handler who I learned is his ex) was bottom of the barrel choice given the ten-day time constraints. I did some research and learned that like other first or second choice host, Chelsea had ample time to prepare and she hosted the same award show last year so she is not a rookie host like Jokoy.

After Chelsea's opening monologue I thought, now THAT'S how to set the right tone for an award's show! She was funny but not at any actor's expense. And these shows are about celebrating the artists who entertain us, not about tearing them down. I find it uncomfortable to listen to any host's nastiness--Chelsea wins the Best Host award!
This further illustrates how much of an outsider Jokoy is from this elite crowd. Chelsea is one of them & is very comfortable joking with friends. He's been reduced to a laughingstock & he'll pretend he's ok & still smiling but deep down he's ruing the day he accepted this short-noticed GG gig 😢

@@asddewijklc I was watching one of Ricky's old interviews about hosting Golden Globes and he mentioned they usually get about a week to write the jokes because they need to be fresh and based on what's trending. He should not have thrown his writers under the bus, that felt even more embarrassing, not sure how these writers are feeling about it. A lot of it also depends on the delivery and how you are sequencing the jokes, he was just plain bad, not sure why he was famous enough to host the awards haha

I was a big fan of Joy Koy until I saw him live last month and he wasn’t that funny. Then he completely bombed the Golden Globes. He insulted the audience over and over again and then expected them to laugh when the jokes weren’t even funny. Bring back the funny! Will Ferrell and Kristen Wiig now they were funny.
