  • Casting epoxy resin with two colors can be difficult - but definitely not impossible.
Using our Amazing Deep Pour epoxy resin, Jordan walks through the proper step of pouring two separate colors in a river table, but this process is the same for all resin castings!

Why did you do it in two layers? I'm new to epoxy pouring and want to try my first two-colour pour.

Do you have a video on your router sled? What did you make it out of?

We don't have a video specifically on it but we do use it in both our River Table video and our Leveling video! It's a Slab Jig from our friends over at Stone Coat Countertops - you can find it here: www.stonecoatcountertops.com/slab-jig/!!

So after the seal coat, you don’t need to scuff up the ridge at all to help it bond?

I thought exactly the same. Wouldn’t hurt to scuff it just to be safe as it’ll be covered by the pour anyway 👍

Is the board 1 inch or 2? Your calculations sounded like u made 96 ounces for the whole thing? Was it 96 the first day then 96 the second since you poured half one day then half the next?

I know this is a little older video, but every time I do a 2 color pour like this, even with meeting in the middle, one color over takes the other. Any recommendation on why or how to stop this from happening?

Great question! We would honestly recommend reaching out to our facebook group (Alumilite Maker's group) to see if anyone has any tips that we didn't mention in the video!

      Hi Richie
Did you ever find an answer to this? I'm struggling with the same issue

I have been using Alumilite resins for two years now and am confused why every video you do on Deep Pour you only pour 3/4” to 1”. What is the use of a product that is designed to pour 2” if you not pour 1/2 that. Also, I have to close up shop after pouring for 3 days+ to let it dry sufficiently so no dust gets on it from other projects I am working on. Any suggestions on how to let it set without closing up shop.

We don't always pour 2" of Amazing Deep Pour when we use it because not all of our projects call for 2" - projects 3/4" to 1" are too deep for a traditional table top epoxy so we use Amazing Deep Pour instead. And unless you are able to conceal your project in an area of your workspace where it will be free of dust then you will need to continue to close up shop unfortunately.

how do you make money selling a cutting board like that when there are so many material expenses?

seems like a massive waste of resin couldnt you just put wood in the gap and just do the final pour ?
