There was a bit of friction on the Three Doctors due to their different performance styles. But they quickly warmed up after that. All this bickering is deliberately played up at these events.

There was also an occasion in the early 80s where Savile was leering at Joanna Lumley, she felt very uncomfortable, so he was banned, never to appear again on the show.

Conner Hanks I don't know the full story behind it, but I think the reason he didn't wanna do it was because he wanted to distance himself from Doctor Who and he didn't want to be too recognised as The Doctor, especially since he was playing the part for 7 years. Something along that line. I dunno.
Conner Hanks Kent- Boy of Steel Yeah in years after he left the part he had a big trouble finding work because he was typecast as Doctor Who. So in a failed attempt to distance himself from the part, he would not participate in anything Who-related throughout the 80's. Eventually he realized that distancing himself wouldn't really change anything, and there's no point in leaving something as beloved as Who, so around the 90's he started coming back as it.
Karl Hiramanek Tom did got some work during this time but not enough that someone as great as him should do but I agree that it has to link with the actions that he took during that time. Funny that Tom cared about Doctor Who after it was axed in 1989.
This was obviously done to remind everyone Doctor Who still existed and to watch it. It didn't help. Viewing figures still decreased and it was cancelled a few years later
