I've watched this video loads of times now and still cry with laughter. Paul was fantastic as both Lily and just himself. Paul got away with a whole lot more as Lily. As human being he had a heart of gold being very caring towards children, animals and the elderly and disabled. He's gone but will never be forgotten.
You know this is something that we no longer have, real people being outlandishly funny, no holds barred, and every time Paul came on you knew you were going to have an outrageous laugh. What a diamond character he created in Lily Savage. Cannot believe he has gone
I think this was the last television appearance of Lily Savage. Paul decided to retire her, and send her off to a convent in France. This interview aired on Christmas Day 2004 on ITV1.
I think he'd retired her for a while prior to this, and this was a one-off return due to the panto. Pretty sure Parky did an interview with Paul prior to this when he'd retired her initially.
@@benwakefield93 He interviewed Paul in early 2004 when Michael was still producing his show for the BBC. However come 2005 he did state that she was now in a convent and she would remain there.
Dame Barbara Windsor was an English actress, known for her roles in the Carry On films and for playing Peggy Mitchell in the BBC One soap opera EastEnders.
There will never be another Lily Savage/Paul O’Grady. The comic timing and one liners are the best. And a truly good human being to boot❤

Lovely lovely lovely. The country lost a gem in Paul O'Grady. RIP Mr. O'Grady, Mr. Parkinson & Ms. Windsor.
"Walt Disney must be turning in his fridge" - brilliant! I thought Barbara Windsor was going to have kittens.

Loved Lilly Savage, absolutely hilarious so sharp, so risque but brilliant !!🙄😂😂🇬🇧
Cracking wit and who can ever be offended by such a wit?
It really is a laugh till you cry. Amazing 👏 ❤
REST IN PEACE 🙏 😢, (Lily) (Paul), SADLY MISSED BUT thanks for the memories. ❤ 🎉 ❤.
One of the funniest things I've ever seen
Once Paul O'Grady stepped into the persona of Lily Savage, she was a POWERHOUSE of comedy. I miss her.
Oh how I miss him - them! A consummate professional. RIP Paul.
Vulgar, irreverent...magnificent!
And this was on Jan 9 2025? Geez, they both look well for being dead!
Both? The only one left of the four is Joe Pasquale 😪
Who is the woman sitting in the middle? Thanks
The late, great Dame Barbara Windsor.

@@nathelondon3719 Thanks for refreshing my memory! I've seen many Carry Ons
Sad excuse for comedy. Pathetic waste of time.
How very wrong you are!!!
It must be miserable having no sense of humour.
