Brutally Attack: China sparks the US fury with 'aggressive' South China Sea tactics after ally clash.
China triggered a furious response from the United States after a Chinese vessel collided with a Filipino supply ship in the contested South China Sea. China and the Philippines have been at war for a long time over competing claims to the region, but tensions have only increased in the last year. An important regional partner, the Philippines, was reaffirmed in Washington's backing as the nation condemned Beijing's "aggressive" actions in the region. The Chinese Coast Guard condemned the Filipino supply ship for what they called "an unprofessional manner" and the fact that it "deliberately and dangerously" approached their vessel after "China's repeated solemn warnings" were disregarded.
