I’m 84 and thank God every morning that I can get my legs out of bed. I do some oil painting, joined choir last year and made many friends. I enjoy watching TH-cam , especially religious and political topics, short videos of newborns, animals, etc. God has been very good to me and is very important to me.
As an 87 year old widow living alone without the love of my husband of 52 years, I have the everlasting love of my Heavenly Father who never leaves me alone and gives me the peace, the strength and the joy that makes life worth living! 🙏
Thank you. You hit the mark. I am almost 80 years old and worked as an RN, until I was 74. I keep very busy. I am including over 30 of my acrylic paintings and poems in my Memoir. I hope to get published in 2025, God willing. I participate more in my Parish Church activities. I am very busy, to be lonely. We are never alone, anyway. God is with us always, we just have to believe. The Creator of the Universe has a Master Plan for all of us. I also remember what my mother used to say, "Heaven helps those who help themselves." God is good all the time.
Fine update. "Self Maintenace" is vital. I read every label of packaged food that I purchase and take extra care of myself as never before. The ultimate key has always been to "keep moving." and find good in everything I do.
At 84, I simply want to be Productive. . . Every hour, every day. . . For my family, my wife and the needy who cross my path. This gives me variety and a sense of self worth. Giving is easy…
Aging is such a beautiful journey when we embrace it with grace and gratitude. Wishing everyone watching this video peace, strength, and the joy of discovering new moments of happiness, no matter your age
I’m trying to change my thinking. For 8 years I’ve felt allone on earth. At 70 years old, I have wonderful memories. I’m a captain and took both kids with me. Eight years ago an accident took my mom and daughter at 37 and ruined my body. But I survived through it all for my grandkids and son. Now I have no friends, all deceased at sea or cancer. I have never been so lonely. But I’m healthy and read all ingredients in my food and take care tip-off myself and walk 3-5 miles a day. Alone. I have to start thinking of myself and not what I lost. I’m blessed, just lonely. Thank you, I follow you daily. It helps knowing I can be me and not in charge of anything else, I guess. 😊
Your resilience and determination are truly inspiring. Keep taking care of yourself and embracing your blessings. Wishing you comfort and new connections-you deserve it.
I’m 79, letting go of not making the most of past opportunities has been a challenge, as I see it now those decisions or lack of created new opportunities that led to the present. Accepting yourself makes for a brighter day. Thought provoking presentation- thanks
@WiseAdvice93 be careful here. She just pulled narcissist on me. I see she, it, just created a few profiles as well. I'm elderly, not stupid, I don't believe a word it types. Be vigilant. Please. Guarding my heart and mind, it needs Jesus.
So many people could benefit from the wisdom shared in this video. I have physical limitations now that have been difficult to adjust to, but I have adapted, and life is still good. The thoughts you shared here are exactly the way I live, and you have expressed it so well. Thank you for this!
The message is very spiritually uplifting and totally inspiring. I hope many people in the twilight of their years watch, listen, and live with these lessons. Thanks a ton for this message and May God bless us all.
Thank you for your kind words! It’s a blessing to share uplifting messages, and I hope they touch many hearts. Wishing you and everyone the best in their journey. 🌟
Losely translated by me ;) 1. Don't be a narcissist; be willing to let other shine while you silently acknowledge your worth 2. Embrace the fact that you're trading physical vitality for mental wisdom 3. The fragility of old friendship; the need to live with lost gracefully & relish the presence 4. Accept changes to life's circumstances--status, prestige, environment & the familiar 5. Choose happiness regardless of circumstance; see joy in small things with gratitude and letting go anything that impedes tranquility
Beautifully said! Acknowledging others, embracing wisdom, and cherishing friendships while accepting their fragility are profound lessons. Thank you for sharing this thoughtful insight. 🙏
Creating Happiness is important to me and sharing it with others. I thank you for giving us this food for thought as we age. I am very glad that I have God in my life, as I pray to him to pick me up, shake me out and set me back down, when I have those moments of sadness or self pity. I wish everyone knew Jesus and God in a personal way, that they might have that guidance in their own lives.
What wise advice! Application is more important than rumination though so a deep resolve ans consistency is necessary. This so resonates with me and I have discovered them through the years. I have chosen to take control of vital facets of my life and not be dictated by what the usual narrative says about aging. Thank you heaps for your caring to enlighten seniors and the elderly, giving them the nudge to reconsider their view of life, as it is never too late to embrace a better perspective and make it work for you. Blessings🌈🙏👍
You're absolutely right-taking consistent action and embracing resolve makes all the difference. Aging on your own terms is such an empowering approach! 🌟
Thank you for this topic this will serve me as my guide as i grow older . . . Yes life has no choice but to embrace that our body would be our ultimate companion up to the end . . .you make me smile out of this statement but its true . . . . please post more.
Thank you for sharing your thoughts! It’s inspiring to see how you embrace the journey of aging. We’ll definitely keep posting more uplifting content. 😊
Right, about loss, it’s permanent as of in my life, even after cancer surgeries, by age 70, I outlived 4 husbands of my past. Remembering the good times, after they are all gone. I attended support groups, where I learned how much worse it would have been to lose one of my two sons, as I met with parents who lost their children. I got involved with serving homeless, tutored children who had learning disabilities and enjoyed nature working part time at a historical National Park nearby, helping to build a learning program about times past, with period costumes. I traveled by car, plane, a cruise ship to a desired place to celebrate alone, yet kept busy learning.
I just passed through a milestone in our culture celebrating aging past 77 years 7 months and 7 days. I am a true believer that age is just a number, I went through the grieving phase of loss of my soulmate and trying to embrace the present and not worrying about the uncertainty of the future.
I'm an 84 year old atheist, live alone and look back and forward on life as a learning experience in progress. Sometimes feel a bit guilty about the enjoying more than the annoying aspects of it. Best wishes to all.
It’s wonderful that you view life as a learning journey. Guilt often comes with reflection, but appreciating joy is a testament to living fully. Best wishes to you as well. 🌟
I'm a Methodist or is it a Methodologist or maybe a Metabolic or is it a Methanopolist or is it a Methanegotist or a Methanegotist or a Methotzarist or a Methotzarist or a Methoguitarist or a NOBODY???🇨🇦😂
That explanation at 09:31 was absolutely perfect. 😍😍😍Self-maintenance is crucial. I now make it a point to read every label on packaged food and take better care of myself than ever before. The key has always been to keep moving and find the good in everything I do. You made something complex seem so easy! 🥳
this was a deeply moving talk about aging - it hit home with its raw honesty about things we often avoid thinking about, like losing our independence and watching friends fade away. But instead of leaving me depressed, it actually gave me hope by showing how accepting these changes can lead to finding new kinds of joy and meaning. Really made me think about how I want to approach my own later years.
The perception that the purpose of life is to seek and enjoy joy and happiness is a mistaken understanding. Each time a goal is achieved, a new goal arises, and the vicious cycle of suffering continues, shifting from one form of suffering to another. Endlessly seeking happiness but always encountering suffering, which persists. This is a terrifying truth.

You got this!
My only sadness of getting older is the loss of loved friends & family. This video is spot on, comforting.
Losing loved ones is never easy, but finding comfort in shared memories and uplifting messages is truly special. ❤️
I agree. Sometimes I just wish I can see the ones who have gone again - just once.
As time goes on I realize there are things I took serious 5 years ago, and today I don't give a crap

This was beautiful! I loved it! I haven’t been happy about getting old but this gives you a different way of looking about aging!
The perception that the purpose of life is to seek and enjoy joy and happiness is a mistaken understanding.
Each time a goal is achieved, a new goal arises, and the vicious cycle of suffering continues,
shifting from one form of suffering to another.
Endlessly seeking happiness but always encountering suffering, which persists.
