- I rescued this clock dated from 1996. I purchased it from a photographer who used it as a photo prop. The clock had no movement or chime rods and the hands were glued to the face. I purchased a used Hermle movement and some old brass chime rods. After a "tune up" of the movement and drilling new holes because the original chime rod screw holes didn't match, it's come back to life. You can see some dings on the top of the crown above the face. They are not noticeable unless standing near the clock.
You can hear Whittington, St Michael, and see the movement playing Westminster.

I actually just found one on line for $265.00 no joke!! I snapped that up. It works great. The lady just didn't want it she said a relative died and she ended up with it. So just saying there are bargains to be found.
when I last commented it was on your video of your mantle clock collection and I remember you said that the presidential election mantle clock did not have the movements in it just casing in the face I just wanted to say I'm glad you finally got a new movement within it sounds beautiful

The movement is actually made by Howard Miller. I saw the logo on the movement

It may actually be a Hermle, and if that’s the case, Howard Miller probably had Hermle put their name on it. They likely did this until they acquired Kieninger.

Hermle is a company that allows their buyers to rebadge their movements. Howard Miller is an American furniture company, they're not a clock company by themselves. They just make the cases to house the German movements. And as an added bonus, Hermle lets them rebadge their movements. Anyone who thinks these clocks are strictly American is a bit misinformed. The cases are made in the USA, but not the movement by any means. As far as I'm aware, most American clock companies these days don't manufacture their own movements anymore, they buy from German manufacturers.

just amazing rebuild of this clock. thanks for saving her. I just purchases a new hermle keywound mantel clock that looks a lot like yours. she sounds beautiful. how often will she need cleaned and oiled, on average? is that an expensive job?
de N5XTC I see that you viewed my other video. Thanks for watching! I've read you should have your clock oiled about every 3 years. The subject of oiling sometimes brings debate. Some people seem to have their clocks serviced every few years and some people run them until the bushings go bad and need replacement. Then they have the clock oiled. I'll admit I haven't had any of mine serviced.
On another note, I watched your Yellowstone video. Thanks for showing inside your A-Frame trailer. I've always wanted to see what one looks like inside.
