I think it's because Marco left a stronger impreasion on the judges. Thats what happens when someone from a team is too unique and interesting. The rest sort of fade into their shadow... it's unfair and unfortunate but it's life.

Sadly being able to drag the public attention is also something needed in the kpop industry, I know it's unfair because it doesn't depend on how much you're talented, but sadly being talented isn't enough in the entertainment industry, people want to be entertained and that's why so many talented people aren't getting recognition :/

I'm sorry but the first group decision making was complete BS. They were so Marco biased. Like bruh the other four members were hella talented as well. They probably just gave Marco all the attention because he looked cute and has some connection with Suzy. I mean he's talented as well but the four other members deserve some attention.

I think the members did have their solo performance but was cut, they only show the interesting part and drama, and who pass rather showing the people who didnt pass with no drama. Airtime cause alot of money, especially if they extend. 5- 10 mins of them being shown would cause more to the producer. Thats why they limit their airtime. What they show in here isnt like watching live, if it air 1-2 hrs in tv, it takes about 4-5 hrs to just film everything in live studio. Depends if the judges has alot to say too. And the breaks too.

Everyone here that’s complaining about Marco and how the other members were neglected, you guys do know things are cut out from survival programs like this. They probably did look at all the members individually but because they only let Marco pass they cut it off for more screen time. The other members probably didn’t show enough so the judges only have boots to marco. Also part of the idol job is you have to have star quality. If you are good at singing you can just be a singer or if you are good at rapping you can just be a rapper but to be an idol you need a spark. You need to make people look at you and pay attention to you and marco had that quality so the judges gave him boots. And now if you see the judges made a great choice because marco made it into the final lineup of UNB. Don’t go saying that this was biased when you clearly have no clue how survival shows and this industry works.
True. Here it shows them making a decision in less than 10 minutes but in real life it probably takes much more time cuz of course they have to check every member and their talents. I just feel like Marco had the confidence and aura (skills too ofc) that stood out, that`s why he was chosen
Agreed. They can't possibly show everyone's individual skill's showcase, esp. when they don't make it through. And about the spark / star quality, I think Boys Republic's audition demonstrated that really well when Hwang Chiyeol mentioned that Suwoong is a natural. He wasn't the best dancer or singer in the group but his stage presence was amazing. And that kind of thing is hard to teach. Sometimes it's just a matter of whether you got it or not.

2013 was truly the worst year to debut. it was the year after 2012 the big three had a mega wave of debuts like Got7 and EXO. Basically no groups from that year one survived, not even BTS because they were completely overshadowed until Boy in Luv release

It seems if one person in a group stands out with something unique such as Marco's eyes the judges are unable to see the other members no matter how well they did. I have noticed that in several episodes now. I think that is unfortunate. In a group not everyone can shine in every song. Some have to take support roles. I think it is harder to take a support role knowing that you are helping someone else shine. They should be judged on how well they supported the team. The judges also tend to give the one that shines an extra chance by having them do something solo but they do not give the rest of the team the same chance.

The culture in Korea is obviously different as they don't take it seriously that's why the program put that cut in which is sad normally you'd cut it out. The life of an Idol is tough, especially if you don't make it, it's not uncommon that idols think about self harm, drepression and suicide which is sad to hear someone saying they'd like to end their life. They aren't joking when they mention it or only use it as an excuse for attention.

And even if you were people are different you can't just say "a suicidal person would never do" because i've seen people talking about suicide like this and a few months/years later they killed themself because people didn't take it serious. Depression is really common for idols because the idol world is fucked up and if your in a group that went down so fast it's obvious that you would get depressed over it, i'm actually impressed that he didn't commit suicide already but instead he talks about his concerns. That's normally not a thing people would do in korea because depression and suicide are still a taboo thema. Even after Jonghyuns death when everyone in korea was like "depression is a serious thing guys, we need to face this subject" nothing changed, like always

I felt an anguish and a vacuum in my chest in two parts of this video, the first time was when they chose only Marco and the others got 0 botos and the second was when Minsu received 0 botos, after hearing that he had depression and thought about terrible things, he thought about what would happen after receiving 0 botos. My heart really hurt😭💔

I didn’t know them at all, but l feel bad somehow. To think both groups debuted almost together but didn’t get the same level of fame. It made me think about all other boy and girl groups l have never heard of but that exist and those l am sleeping on that are probably awesome.
@@noonooshK there are 100 of kpop groups in Korea, group that usually gets attention are from big 3 SM yg and jyp.. that's why people said bts also not gonna make it.. but thanks to bang of their marketing strategy worked internationally and they used their every opportunity to make it to the best on stage..
@@drprithvihegde4934 I think it's because more and more people are getting into k-pop every day, and those new fans only really listen to the more popular groups who have already built a name for themselves or come from the big 3 (JYP, SM, AND YG). This is due to the fact that they know what to expect from those groups. They never really bother to pay attention to these underrated gems (ex. Mamamoo, EXID, and of course, Boys Republic), and that's why there aren't a lot of multi-fandom stans out there. It's a shame, really. These groups deserve more recognition, but some companies aren't as good at promoting as the big 3.
