My FA82b has have 6 flights post ground run in. With 10% nitro and a 14x6 APCprop i get a stable 8874rpm at peak but dialled it back to 8651rpm for flight. I've posted here for reference as the manual's suggested 9000rpm is slightly optimistic for a new engine. BTW thank you David for all your work on your channel. For a new IC engine convert, it is very helpful
Are you asking about the exhaust on the engine in MY video or in general? There are no makes and models for Saito exhausts. There were never options. You got what was offered and made at the time. Likewise if you are looking for a specific type of exhaust you will just have to search or take what Horizon Hobby has on hand.
I agree, the new style mufflers are ugly i do prefer the long style like this one or even better the brass muffler like the saito fa-65 first generation, sounds great but maybe needs more running time and of course little more of your touch to sound purrfect!
It's interesting that they use a plastic back plate on the .82 A's and then went back to a metal one on the .82 B's, and I hate that awful metalic harmonic whine these B engines make compared to the A's
You couldn't be more wrong. I've been running Saito's on 10% or less for over 30 years. I think you need to see the 50-100 other Saito videos I have on my channel.
I have flown them in airplanes for that long. it is a myth that high nitro content makes an engine run 'better'. Pulling power is a factor of the prop not RPM on a four stroke engine as shown by the power curves. But you can beat the hell out of your Saito's all you want.
No. I do not fly Saitos anymore because they just lack in performance with the fuel I use. They lost against OS/Laser. These engines do not demand high nitro and beat the hell out of any comparable saito on low nitro fuel. On the other hand there are many people which are really happy with Saitos on 20% nitro and it doesn't harm the engines.

Love those green eyes....oh yes and the Saito is cool too!!
can you rotate the carb 180 deg in the intake pipe????
watching your video i guess you can! your throttle is on the inside and thats where i need mine
Yes.
Hello david. I have a Saito 82B. What make and model is the muffler?
Greetings from Chile.

Saitos run better with higher nitro content. 15 to 20% will make it shine.

They run well but I judge by the performance they deliver on lower nitro fuel when actually powering a model.
