Hi Gail, you will find the course materials by logging into the Photo Coach and clicking on Project Guides in the right side menu, or scroll to the bottom of the page and you will see the Project Guides section. In older videos the links are in the video description, same thing for older PSE videos on my other channel, the links are in the description. I have taken down the PSE support for the other channel, so if you happen to see a video over there with a missing link just let me know and I will add it to the description. The project files for this video will be going up shortly.
Photoshop Elements automatically saves in the psd file format which saves all layers. You can print directly from the psd file. If you need the file as a jpg or png then just do a Save As. I usually do 2 saves, one as the psd so that I have all the layers, and then a Save As to png for use on the web.
Is there a way to merge layer masks onto a single layer? I was able to Apply Layer Mask to the bottom layer and then drag the upper layer masks to the lower layer and repeat (to get the effect I wanted) but that wipes out the layer masks.
If you hold down the alt key while dragging a layer mask it copies the layer mask to the other channel. You can also bring up the layer mask by itself by holding down the alt key and clicking on the layer mask icon. If you want to merge two layer masks open up one of the layer masks using the alt trick, then select the black or white part of the mask using the magic wand and copy. Then open up the other layer mask using the alt trick and paste into that layer mask.
Hi Barbara, this isn't a how to video, it is an overview to show all the things layer masks can do. What you should do is to watch some of my project videos that use layer masks where I do take the time to create the masks. Any video where I am changing the background will be using a layer mask. No, Thank You! Your support is very appreciated!
This is my favorite video, I can never remember how to use the mask, this was a very helpful tutorial, I got it saved on my computer.
Thanks, George
You're welcome Debra! I thought this would be a useful follow up video to my last one about the Refine Edge tool.
Thank you. I didn't realise that you could do so much with Layer Masks. I'll need to go through this a few times and check out you Coach Program.
You're welcome!
Great video, I use masks a lot and there is always something new to learn, or just be reminded of. Thanks George
You are very welcome Anne!
Compliments George. Excellent treatise. Thank you 👍
You're welcome, glad you liked it.
I am a member of your channel but cannot find the pictures you use in your projects in order to download them and follow along.

@@HTGPhoto thanks for the quick and clever answer!
You're welcome, check out my latest video today, I show how to edit the layer mask.
Would you please start at the absolute beginning and go slowly. This is too complicated and fast to follow.
