I'm just starting in gear and guns world and your videos just help so much. Thanks for sharing instructions and reviews so people can buy certified gear and not to mess with and spend money on chinese and/or bad quality stuff.
You should review a protection group denmark helmet. Id be interested in the contrast from a gucci to budget but still functional helmet. Theyre lesser know but non-chinese.
Lol on the Better Walsh in the helmet. For a big light on the helmet, get a Surefire M340V and it comes with a pic rail (and mlok mount) in the box, as well as that nifty swivel to get it situated tight, and then use a Thyrm Variarc that snaps into the Arc rails (there's a Team Wendy version as well) if you want to rotate it for, say, umbrella lighting. I went with just the Princeton Switch MPLS Pro at first, but I need/want more IR and white throw, so the Vampire was worth the weight increase. Still run the Princeton on the other side for admin, and since it's Velcro mounted somewhat like Walsh's Surefire, I can yank it off of I need a handheld, then slap it back on, or stick it to my plate carrier, etc. Because that Vampire is pretty bright, and I tend to run my PVS-14 on my right eye, I mounted the Vampire on the left so it doesn't cause my monocular to auto-gate so much, my big noggin gives enough light shadow to keep that minimized. Also a big thumbs up on the 4D pads. I went with the HIVE variant direct from 4D, instead of the TNVC Zero G setup. (I freakin' hate paying the outrageous TNVC tax, that they hilariously call shipping costs).
It looked like the retention bungee was connected to the g24 and not the NVG's. Pro-tip...you might want to connect the NVG retention bungee to the pvs14 itself, instead of the mount. Your nods are more likely to come off of the mount, than the mount comes off the helmet.
hmm it's probably just an odd angle. The bungee is attached to the 14s itself. But good tip for people to see and make sure they get correct. Appreciate this one too. -Walsh
Loving the videos! I do think that in most situations where I thought a respirator was warranted, I would just step up to a full face mask (gas mask) with a much wider range/ability of filter options. All you need is a chin strap extension for the helmet (and the mask and filters ofcourse). Gas masks/NBC PPE are another rabbit hole, but thankfully less expensive.
You will also want some sort of elastic band or to glue down the windscreen for your microphone or you will loose it after heavy use. Been there done that.
First piece I bought was AMP & NFMI plugs and ARC rail adapters. Next I’m trying to figure out if I want the SF or the super high cut SF. Isn’t that a thing? Great videos on these Ops Core series
You should check out ops core or armor source or get a og ach for nods, then of course run a peltor head band under the helmet, then throw a shroud, Wilcox and beez combat systems Predator ghillie on it and your pack and your rifle and you’ll Be set
haha I was hoping you'd enjoy it! Thanks for all the great content on those mount nuisances wish I watched it before buying all the wrong stuff lol -Walsh
No one has ever made a video comparing the team Wendy to the new ops core SF. The new SF is smaller and doesn’t feel like a bowl on your head. The only helmet on the market that actually has an outer shell that doesn’t hang off your head a ton.
I'm guessing around $7k-$8k with all the Opscore stuff, Wilcox mounts, and TNVC-sourced PVS-14. You can save a lot if you go with a bump instead of ballistic, and don't use TNVC as a night vision source. Don't get me wrong, TNVC is solid and back their stuff up better than anybody, but you pay and pay and pay for that (and wait and wait and wait for that). Just saying there are alternatives for the same or similar gear at much lower prices.
well that's a tough one... in which configuration. And are you adding counterweights? Fully loaded the weight is "not enough to whine about" Whiners may disagree. -Walsh
You put more money in your helmet than your Nightvision? Don’t get me wrong I love ops core. I run the ops core SF with the amps. Used ops core over seas, my last helmet I was issued was actually a team Wendy and I still have it. Buy better nods bro
This setup looks perfect for my mission to retrieve hotpocket resupply drop with crocs in full 4wd
put those Crocs in tactical mode!
Just don't commit to retrieval until you get the all-clear from your Meshtastic network. :)
Shit you put the straps down and put it into four-wheel-drive…daaaaang

Put a little thousand island dressing on that leaf cover and you've got lunch.
Excellent work brother. Keep it going.

yes please!
Picked up one of the PGD ballistic helmets a few months ago.. it's comfortable and I really like the BOA retention system it has.
@@perchowski3021 same. Id really like to see some decent testing data on them. Hard to find real ballistic testing info on helmets
Great job on the Ops Core series Walsh!
thanks Misfit! for all the support you've shown us I basically owe you one of these setups lol
Thank for putting in the work to make a step-by-step! Great video!!
Nice channel. No ego or gimmick. I'm digging it. Just subbed.
well you're just in time for our 20k giveaway!!
welcome also!

Thanks a lot for explaining everything clear to us!
Great series and an amazing helmet setup thank you
Great video! Fwiw the kinetic development Lola is a very useful and inexpensive way to mount a surefire vampire.
Inexpensive?

Love the vid. Do you have a vid on the chest rig you’re wearing by chance? Love the setup
@7:33 do the nfmi styled earplugs work when the earpros are stowed in that air passthrough mode?
First piece I bought was AMP & NFMI plugs and ARC rail adapters. Next I’m trying to figure out if I want the SF or the super high cut SF. Isn’t that a thing? Great videos on these Ops Core series
That Helmet gives me helmet envy... I'm still rocking some howard leights
I need to up my game.
Also thanks for the shoutout, gave me a laugh

Can you list all the prices? For this whole setup? More or less than $15k? Etc
I want to know your chest rig product information. Can you tell me?
Whats that chest rig setup?
AWESOME❤
Have link for the helmet hook and loop pad used for light?
Thanks!
sorry im slow but what is that little almsot clear or white square you put on your vests? some kind of locator beacon or...? about an inch cube
that's the unity SPARC. It's a marker light
see if that's the one you're talking about

agreed. I mean to do one but it seems silly to get a helmet I don't want. My team Wendy carbon is a weird shape
@@ThinLineDefenseCo what do you mean by weird shape?
Crazy to think youd have like $15,000 on your head will dial tubes ha. Great vid
haha I keep telling myself I don't need duals
Got a text message from my bank that said "No" after a watched this vid
How can I get it in Uganda. East Africa
My guy just threw everything he could on this helmet. 😂
Not true. I had the camera on a tripod! lol
-Walsh
Where did you get that ops core patch?
Shot Show 2022
Remember to check on your friends, they might be running bayonet mounts. (they aren’t ok)
Wow...that whole setup is like $10K, right? Is it worth it to do a vid going over pros and cons of single tube vs dual tube?
haha I don't have dual tubes! Don't send me down that rabbit hole lol
Brass facts did a video on the topic of you’re interested.

How much did all this cost? Its bad ass
Over 10k with the prices of the things I know
Seems right...maybe 9k with sales lol
How much does it weigh?
well that's a tough one... in which configuration. And are you adding counterweights?
Fully loaded the weight is "not enough to whine about"
Whiners may disagree.

9:23 lol
Night vision in any civilian context...... "We have another Buffalo Bill type situation"
lol just wait till we do thermal next... shhhh!
You forgot to thank your wife...she must really love you!?
haha she even brought me cake at our live chat for celebrating 20K subs!
Them visor are over priced at $500. I'll stick to a full seal goggles (Revision, ESS, Wiley X)

Not to punch holes in your video, but you kept calling the streamlight stalk, a surefire stalk. It happened multiple times. Great video though.
haha I did. One of the teammates told me that afterwards too. I was like "I did....oh well you know what I mean!" Good catch though!
Don’t let your dogs go near the amps they will destroy the ear cups
lol noted!

IN A FIRE YOU ARE GOING TO WANT THE GOGGLES NOT THE GLASSES TO GO WSITH THE RESPIRATOR.
I WISH YOU HAD A CAPSLOCK KEY. THANKFULLY I HAVE BOTH.
WHWRE IS MY CAPSHLOCK?!?
