Congrats on the new digs! The Mrs. and myself are getting a bit disenchanted with the States right now and are looking abroad (Europe). It just looks so awesome over there.
It's definitely not without it's issues here, I find it quite a culture shock being from the UK, but it is a good standard of living and of course the health insurance is really great compared to the USA and even UK

@@Involvod to be fair, the fact it was winter meant hardly work on cars and that suited the new life. Now, I try to break a big job into smaller jobs and plan different. Oh, and my wife is very understanding too, but I make up to her.

Congratulations , on living in the new house, now you have a bigger hose/ workshop electricity where in the old place you did not have, it is more comfortable like a place to put extra parts , more room .

Thanks! It is, the 740 isn't happy about the hills, she's great for going into town though. The 240 is much more fun to drive around here

Thanks! Yes the bell will probably get old real fast 😅 We are currently "debating" over a P2 or P3 V70, I of course want the earlier generation.. A P80 or another Redblock would be even better but now it's a question of safety features etc and fuel economy as we're pretty rural now

@@Involvod a P80 is a proper pain in the ass. P2s are getting on. I'd go for a p3 in a simple trim, and not a diesel or t5.

I love how Miss Involvo'd is basically quality control now. No more putting off jobs because "It's not too bad yet" :D
Else just wanted to build some oil pressure before starting and then she methodically fired one more cylinder every few seconds lol
Btw what was that rattling noise when you drove her onto the driveway? Sounded like some loose sheet metal.
Haha, I definitely need to keep the Volvos in even better shape now. The rattle was the exhaust heat shield, took it for a spin and she stopped doing it, hasn't done it since, typical redblock Volvo fixing itself as they sometimes like to do 😄

It's crazy in the USA I need a steering rack for my 1993 244 and the ship couldn't find one and so began the relationship where I could slice all my parts for my car. I found one in no time but certain parts are getting trickier to find.

I laughed out loud when you said "finally" looking at the power outlet. Not only I've been following you for some time so I get the inside "joke" but I consider myself a "parking lot apprentice amateur mechanic" so I also know the pain!! You don't understand the meaning of a power outlet until you clay, polish and buff an entire estate by hand.

I would like to know how the fuel economy is on your Volvos. I have a 79 244 2.1 automatic and it’s really thirsty, but I don’t know what to expect. From factory it should do around 10,4 km/l but I’m doing closer to 7 km/l 😮
Oh yeah that is quite a lot! Especially if that's average mixed driving not just around town. This 2.3 auto 740 was using 10l per 100km highway last time I checked, but there's a few reasons why I think it's higher at the moment, she has done better in the past (8.5 - 9 highway)
The 2.3 manual 240 I have does 8L per 100km highway and not a huge amount more when mixed driving. I've heard from a couple of friends that when they took their 240s to Sweden they got around 7l per 100km!

Nice to see you get an actual workshop now!!! Im looking to buy some Volvo original multi-x rims but i can't seem to find them anywhere (and i know you've made a video about it but i cant find that either). Do you remember where you bought your's?
Thanks! The ones I've got are Scorpius, I bought a Volvo that had them on and swapped them. There is a set for sale now on eBay Kleinanzeigen, expensive though of course 😅

I was expecting them to cost 1000+ euros when you said expensive, this is actually pretty reasonable, or it could just be the fact that there is a huge shortage of old volvo 240/740 parts in Sweden right now.

I have no idea why the churches here feel obliged to ring their bells at any given opportunity, even just to tell everyone that 15 minutes have passed. Where I live they count out full hours from 8AM to 3AM and give a single bell at half past. At least I'm spared the quarter hour count but it's still annoying and pointless as hell. I don't get it
Yeah man!! Haha it's definitely excessive, at the moment I'm enjoying it as it's a reminder I'm out in a nice village but I think the novelty will wear off, especially with the late night / early morning rings 💀💀💀
