If his team, in which he was one of the key members, had succeeded in pursuing the technology at that time we would have been way ahead by now. I checked several sources on internet. He is indeed one of the pioneers of liquid propulsion in India. He was leading the team that developed VIKAS engine. Of course one single person cannot do all the things but since the movie Rocketry was about him, the director has taken some liberty to project his contributions exclusively in the movie. Do you think he was given Padmabushan just because he got out of the false case. No! he indeed did some excellent contribution may not be to the tune of Dr. Abdul Kalm ji.

After studying mechanical engineering in Madurai, Narayanan started his career in 1966 at ISRO as a technical assistant at the Thumba Equatorial Rocket Launching Station. He was sent to Princeton University on deputation at Government of India's expense in 1969. He completed his master's program there in chemical rocket propulsion under professor Luigi Crocco. He returned to India with expertise in liquid propulsion at a time when Indian rocketry was still solely dependent on solid propellants.[better source needed] He has claimed that he had to educate Sarabhai on liquid propulsion technology in his book. In 1974, Societe Europeenne de Propulsion agreed to transfer the Viking engine technology in return for 100 man-years of engineering work from ISRO. This transfer was completed by three teams and Narayanan led the team of fifty-two engineers who worked on technology acquisition from French. The other two teams worked on indigenizing the hardware in India and establishing the development facilities in Mahendragiri. The first engine, named Vikas, was tested successfully in 1985. It's this mediocrity of such guys sitting there in the interview saying that the ISRO's programs wouldn't have gone back if one person is not being actively participated. But this is absolutely wrong because that one person who's missing might be the one who was the key and initiative carrying person. And this kind of person was sir Dr Nambi Narayanan. I wasn't saying this words based on the movie made by R Madhavan, just go to Google and search there for the links for first initiation and active participation and taking responsibility to keep India's space race as possible as equal with countries like US and Russia. He was the key role to carry russian cryo technology transfer through engines but at that instant he was charged that espionage and surely foreign nations hands were all in that case so that india could fall back in the race in space. So here the point is it needs guts and high intellectual potential to take risks for the nation to make the nation efficient in space programmes. Since, till that date already Us and Russia had their cryogenic engines. Surely he's a gem with impeccable dare. Not everyone have that guts. By the way for your information he was the lead developer engineer of the most used PSLV's liquid propulsion rocket engine called vikram. As shown in film, a two year durationed thesis work was just completed in 8months. So don't just easily talk in such a cheap Some RK show about such a genius.

After studying mechanical engineering in Madurai, Narayanan started his career in 1966 at ISRO as a technical assistant at the Thumba Equatorial Rocket Launching Station. He was sent to Princeton University on deputation at Government of India's expense in 1969. He completed his master's program there in chemical rocket propulsion under professor Luigi Crocco. He returned to India with expertise in liquid propulsion at a time when Indian rocketry was still solely dependent on solid propellants.[better source needed] He has claimed that he had to educate Sarabhai on liquid propulsion technology in his book.
In 1974, Societe Europeenne de Propulsion agreed to transfer the Viking engine technology in return for 100 man-years of engineering work from ISRO. This transfer was completed by three teams and Narayanan led the team of fifty-two engineers who worked on technology acquisition from French. The other two teams worked on indigenizing the hardware in India and establishing the development facilities in Mahendragiri. The first engine, named Vikas, was tested successfully in 1985. An enquiry by the vigilance cell in 1982 was dropped later.

It's this mediocrity of such guys sitting there in the interview saying that the ISRO's programs wouldn't have gone back if one person is not being actively participated. But this is absolutely wrong because that one person who's missing might be the one who was the key and initiative carrying person. And this kind of person was sir Dr Nambi Narayanan. I wasn't saying this words based on the movie made by R Madhavan, just go to Google and search there for the links for first initiation and active participation and taking responsibility to keep India's space race as possible as equal with countries like US and Russia. He was the key role to carry russian cryo technology transfer through engines but at that instant he was charged that espionage and surely foreign nations hands were all in that case so that india could fall back in the race in space. So here the point is it needs guts and high intellectual potential to take risks for the nation to make the nation efficient in space programmes. Since, till that date already Us and Russia had their cryogenic engines. Surely he's a gem with impeccable dare. Not everyone have that guts. By the way for your information he was the lead developer engineer of the most used PSLV's liquid propulsion rocket engine called vikram. And only candidate to pursue his PhD under the most famous, efficient, overwhelmingly genius Dr Luigi croccoo world's famous mathematician and aeroengine researcher. As shown in film, a two year durationed thesis work was just completed in 8months. So don't just easily talk in such a cheap Some RK show about such a genius.
