It took place at the Laguna Seca Raceway, California, United States on October 25, 1998. There were two classes, GT1 and GT2: GT1 winners were the #2 AMG Mercedes (6.0L V8) driven by Klaus Ludwig and Ricardo Zonta; GT2 winners were the Viper Team Oreca Chrysler Viper GTS-R (8.0L V10) driven by Olivier Beretta and Pedro Lamy.
