    That is one of the most capable rigs I have seen, I really wish it was possible to just buy and build this from a list because I would be all over that. You did an incredible job on that rig and aslo way to drop some of that wisdom on us, mad respect.

      Thanks! My buddy Shannon built this. He's a bit of a mechanical maniac. No plans available, all done from his head. He's truly genius level.

    Honestly this is one of the coolest things I've seen. My family and I do alot of rock crawling and technical trail riding here in the Appalachian mountains but it's an expensive hobby when things break. This seems like an interesting way to get some of the thrill with less cost. Thanks for the video and happy crawling!

      Tonitrus Deus glad you enjoyed it. The guy operating the crawler is a master. He flies helicopters too. Upside down, blades 6 inches off the ground kind of stuff. It’s a fun hobby.

      Tom Glander hey those weighted beadlock tires what are they called? I'd like to het some. And you should put more weight on front to help you not roll head over heel when going up steep inclines. Nice rig though!!

    Wow, awesome! How do you lock the rear wheels? Is the magic in the transmitter?

    • @TomGlander
      @TomGlander  8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The motors are independently operated by the transmitter. So, yes, the magic is in that device and the separate motors. Thanks for the question! :-)

    • @ghck1009
      @ghck1009 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      And how did you achieve that the throttle is holding (no self-centering by spring), but you can do forward/reverse, AND find the zero point fast?

    • @TomGlander
      @TomGlander  8 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      This is because I'm using helicopter radio. The trick to finding center is years of helicopter flying. When flying a helicopter in 3d the center of the stick is zero pitch. Its important to find this center when flying or some of the "stunts" might not work properly. If you don't find center quickly you can't drive all that well either so it comes in handy.

    • @3lefthands
      @3lefthands 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Tom Glander you can use a sanwa mt4 radio system, so you can switch between the front- and rear motor... take a look to my moa crawler, my rig crawls like a insect and has 4 shocks😂😂

  • @mikejones-qj7dm
    @mikejones-qj7dm 4 ปีที่แล้ว

    it's not custom lol. it's more like aftermarket. I like how ppl think something is custom when it is produced by a manufacturer in plant. CUSTOM is when when u build or have something built that is one of kind and no one has it at all. this is the Billet Works Design Mantis chassis. I have two of them. so no they r not custom by any means. you have to do your own CUSTOMIZATION.
