Always nice to see someone from a country as beautiful as Norway appreciating my country of Scotland. Glad you enjoyed it Erik. And we've all made an ass of it in the locks at some point - part of the fun!
1.7K+ subscriber LIKE, 10,827th tag-along view... let's go sailing with Erik. As a player of Irish Trad (pub tunes) music, I really appreciate the choice of instrumental music in this episode.
I feel so fortunate to be living during the same time as Eric to see so many beautiful places I would not likely see thanks to his adventurous spirit 🥂❤
The Great Glen is spectacularly beautiful. I know many sailors enjoy cycling too so if you can't see it by boat I thoroughly recommend cycling it. A group of us did it a few years ago. We hired electric bikes and spent 5 days cycling from Fort William to Inverness. There is plenty of accommodation along the way and portage companies to move your luggage between stops. We also found the locals to be very considerate towards cyclists. One of the best holidays I've had away from sailing. Thank you for sharing Erik.
As I sit here and watch the world collapse your experiences provide solace and remind me that someday I may just have to walk out to my back yard get on my sailboat and go. Inverness is the birthplace of my ancestors .As always, thanks Eric
Your offshore crossings can be impressive in terms of the savagery of the sea, but the landscapes along the lochs and the Caledonian Canal are stunning. Great videography !
Wow man love your cinematography your trips and Adventures been following you for a year or two at least what I like most about you is your attitude and calm demeanor Elio's will carry you far
This has been on my bucket list for a long time, my grandfather used to love sailing around the west coast of Scotland and I long to follow in his footsteps. Another great video Erik, keep them coming!
More spectacular drone footage - so appreciate getting to see all of this area's beauty. Thanks for capturing and sharing the adventure and this majestic scenery.
I feel like all the disease and sickness within my body gets sucked out by the intense beauty of the ocean and geography I am witnessing over your shoulder. To know that you're in tune with moon and its gravitational pull on the water is breathtaking, something a windsail sailor would know. Thank you for sharing
BRILLIANT Erik and thank you for all of your videography efforts! You too are a ONE man operation doing everything and to such high standards, RESPECT!
Very nice video, Erik. I wish you a happy new year, good luck and good health in 2024 and many more sailing adventures that we can share with you. Many greetings. Jürgen 👍😀
Watching this in bed in my family’s holiday home just south of Oban on New Year’s Day evening. I can sense in you the same joy that I experience when in my happy place. I was in Corpach in October on my motorcycle heading up to Arisaig and on to Malaig. We even watched a whale feeding on a mackerel shoal. Purest magic.
Great episode and (as always) you can even see on a video just how much care you take on preventative maintenance. All your lines, sheets, halyards and everything else that is apparent on film looks new, polished, seaworthy and in good order. Nice work 👍
Hi Eric, I loved following your trip through the Calendonian Canal in my home country of Scotland. I did that trip in 2021 on hired boat with my family and it gave me the the sailing bug. So much so that I bought my first sailing yatch a year later. The greatest memory I have of that trip is as we were going through the Laggan Avenue my 20 year old son said. "I live in such a wonderfully f****** country". I though , job done. I'm also please to see that I was not the only one that went 90 degrees across the lock at Fort Augustus, makes me feel better that such an experienced sail such as your self can make mistakes too. Please keep making these videos as I for one will keep watching. Happy New Year, Lang may yer lum reek.
Every season you post, you always make me want to buy a boat and start exploring. You do an amazing job portraying the story, events, and nature; the cinematography is beyond the next level.
I say...THANK YOU! I'm a sailor in Boston, born of Scottish blood...loved my visits to eastern and northern Scotland...You're living my dream here sir!!! So VERY thankful for this wondrous video...thank you brother!!!! Thank you so very much!
So beautiful! Would love to sail through there someday. I have been all over Scotland by car but never by boat. I’m an American with a Scottish Mum. It would be incredible to see Scotland from this perspective. Thanks for sharing!
Wow! Happy New Year.
