- Enjoy this ride straight through Scotland, passing through 19 locks to take us along the Caledonian Canal. This manmade canal is one of the real big marvels of human engineering. Forget huge, stormy oceans for a while, and just enjoy the peace and calmness of a 5 day inshore sailing along mountains, still waters and the most beautiful nature Scotland has to offer.
All the best
Erik

You're back at it! Loving this episode so far, very well produced!
i couldn't have said it better myself... so i didn't, and you got a thumbs up instead.
I agree it was superb ❤️
Absolutely brilliant videography. Love watching your adventures.
Always nice to see someone from a country as beautiful as Norway appreciating my country of Scotland. Glad you enjoyed it Erik. And we've all made an ass of it in the locks at some point - part of the fun!
I feel so fortunate to be living during the same time as Eric to see so many beautiful places I would not likely see thanks to his adventurous spirit 🥂❤
For me this has been your most enjoyable series so far - wonderful scenery and sailing!
Scotland is the most beautiful bar Norway :)
1.7K+ subscriber LIKE, 10,827th tag-along view... let's go sailing with Erik. As a player of Irish Trad (pub tunes) music, I really appreciate the choice of instrumental music in this episode.
Your not just a fantastic sailor and engaging personality, you have become a very talented filmmaker. This was EXCELLENT 👏👍🙏
As I sit here and watch the world collapse your experiences provide solace and remind me that someday I may just have to walk out to my back yard get on my sailboat and go. Inverness is the birthplace of my ancestors .As always, thanks Eric
We've delivered lots of yachts through the Caledonian Canal. Always a treat!
Beautifully shot and edited as ever!
I hope Heaven is like Scotland.🎉
The Great Glen is spectacularly beautiful. I know many sailors enjoy cycling too so if you can't see it by boat I thoroughly recommend cycling it. A group of us did it a few years ago. We hired electric bikes and spent 5 days cycling from Fort William to Inverness. There is plenty of accommodation along the way and portage companies to move your luggage between stops. We also found the locals to be very considerate towards cyclists. One of the best holidays I've had away from sailing. Thank you for sharing Erik.
I'm so glad you got to see our wounderful country. Scotland is such a beautiful place to visit, let alone sail it 😊
This should be on Netflix. Top quality filmography- I am biased of course I am Scottish 😅
Your offshore crossings can be impressive in terms of the savagery of the sea, but the landscapes along the lochs and the Caledonian Canal are stunning. Great videography !
This has been on my bucket list for a long time, my grandfather used to love sailing around the west coast of Scotland and I long to follow in his footsteps. Another great video Erik, keep them coming!
Ahhh! The coffee! That is probably the most serious crisis I’ve seen you come across in the 3 years I’ve been watching.
Thank you , looked like a good trip always wondered about that faultline , beautiful
Erik that was fantastic!!!....Excellent camera work ...some of those beautiful shots you really took your time which made it relaxing.....
BEAUTIFUL HOW YOU MADE THIS! lOVE WATCHING YOUR ADVENTURES.
Eric, you are a very talented man... your videos are on another level. May God keep you safe and guide you on your travels....take care
We're lovin' it! (McDonalds get it!?)
Beautiful! Happy new year! 💛
All the best for 2024 Erik!
More spectacular drone footage - so appreciate getting to see all of this area's beauty.
Thanks for capturing and sharing the adventure and this majestic scenery.
beautiful video, Im sure I saw Nessie just under your boat.
DUDE - there's NO substitute for grinding and percolating your own beans!
Wonderful journey, thanks.
_HAPPY NEW YEAR!_
Hi Erik. This was very special for me as you were in my homeland, 🏴 hence my surname. Also I’ve never been the the canals from one side to the other. Loved every second. Looking forward to the next passage 👌🏻
Hi Eric, what an incredible video again! I loved every second of it. Beautiful. Looking forward to chapter 7. All the best.
Great episode and (as always) you can even see on a video just how much care you take on preventative maintenance. All your lines, sheets, halyards and everything else that is apparent on film looks new, polished, seaworthy and in good order. Nice work 👍
I say...THANK YOU! I'm a sailor in Boston, born of Scottish blood...loved my visits to eastern and northern Scotland...You're living my dream here sir!!! So VERY thankful for this wondrous video...thank you brother!!!! Thank you so very much!
All my pleasure, thank you!!
you videos give me a lot of peace in my life. Thank you for sharing your journeys with the world.
Hi Eric, I loved following your trip through the Calendonian Canal in my home country of Scotland. I did that trip in 2021 on hired boat with my family and it gave me the the sailing bug. So much so that I bought my first sailing yatch a year later.
The greatest memory I have of that trip is as we were going through the Laggan Avenue my 20 year old son said. "I live in such a wonderfully f****** country". I though , job done.
I'm also please to see that I was not the only one that went 90 degrees across the lock at Fort Augustus, makes me feel better that such an experienced sail such as your self can make mistakes too.
Please keep making these videos as I for one will keep watching.
Happy New Year, Lang may yer lum reek.
Superb. I live about an hour north of Inverness. Always like your uploads but the Scottish ones are usually some of my fav.
Thanks bro 😎 🏴
the next time you plan to haul out for bottom paint, explore your Hydrophobic options.
there are new Hydrophobic coatings on the market; which could have you sailing, when you would otherwise be motoring.
( and save you fuel, when you have to motor )
also good to fatigue yourself well enough, with surface preparation, that you opt to have it sprayed on, ( for a smoother finish )
Желаю Вам, дорогой Эрик, новых замечательных путешествий и открытий в Новом 2024 году, и продолжать радовать нас Вашими замечательными видеосъёмками!
Absolutely loved this video. As an inland waterways narrowboater it was lovely to see the slower and more relaxed pace of the canal.
It must be strange for you Erik to be sailing along without the boat crashing through huge waves !
Excellent video, thanks
Thank you for this most scenic adventure. This is the first time I had seen this lock system in Scotland and I must say it was amazing. Happy Holidays, Erik.
Every season you post, you always make me want to buy a boat and start exploring. You do an amazing job portraying the story, events, and nature; the cinematography is beyond the next level.
Those coffee pods are super convenient when sailing.
Beautiful man . Thank you
You are one extraordinary cinematographer my friend, unfortunately talented
I feel like all the disease and sickness within my body gets sucked out by the intense beauty of the ocean and geography I am witnessing over your shoulder. To know that you're in tune with moon and its gravitational pull on the water is breathtaking, something a windsail sailor would know. Thank you for sharing
Glad to see you sail in the calm water. Good luck Eric!
Big thumbs up !
É o melhor canal acerca dos assuntos de navegação e mar. Vejo e revejo quase todos os dias essas maravilhas.
All the BEST…2024 for you 🙏🙏🙏
Love watching your journeys around the North Atlantic. As always, production quality is tip top, and your mellifluous narration voice. We'd love to see you down in Southern climes, like here in Australia.
Very nice video, Erik. I wish you a happy new year, good luck and good health in 2024 and many more sailing adventures that we can share with you. Many greetings. Jürgen 👍😀
Fanstastic episode thaks and all the best foor 2024
Hi Erik. I follow your chanel for quite a long time and I think this is one of the most amazing episodes ever. Thanks very much for sharing it.
Watching this in bed in my family’s holiday home just south of Oban on New Year’s Day evening.
I can sense in you the same joy that I experience when in my happy place.
I was in Corpach in October on my motorcycle heading up to Arisaig and on to Malaig. We even watched a whale feeding on a mackerel shoal. Purest magic.
Thank you so much Erik, beautiful scenery, love your content. You are a great story teller/photographer. 👍👍☕️
This time very educational... no idea Loch Ness was one Loch of many on the Caledonian Canal... Good work attempting to find Nessie on Tessie... Laff... Fair Winds...
Love your films Erik. Very inspirational, even for @preparingvoyager - my motoryacht. Have a great 2024 and keep up with the videos.
Fantastic film Erik. Such high quality and so interesting. Well done for that and for showing Scotland as it is such a wonderful land.
Hey Erik it’s Jenson, I met you at Fraserburgh I hope you doing well with your adventures keep up the good work.
Hi Jenson! I remember you and your father very well! Hope to see you out there again☺️
Very nice and enough motoring for now, I hope. So let's get sailing again.
Hi Erik, I think this is the best video of the Caledonian canal I've ever seen , Love your stuff, I lost an expensive set of binoculars in the very same lock at Fort Augustus, Shit happens
Looking forward to much more of your travels, Stay safe .😁
Fantastic episode. The canals and locks are awesome. Beautiful countryside and towns. Would love to go there someday. Thanks for the video
Go Bill. It is amazing. We were at the lock staircase at 10 PM and the sun had not set yet. Amazing place.
Beautiful! Another masterpiece of videography and story telling. Thank you.
Well done Erik you make me feel home sick for Scotland. Good luck with the North Sea crossing. mvh S.
The interview done by Juho at Alluring Arctic Sailing. You guys have become pro's at storytelling and photo/ video assembly. Subscribed and planing my next binging session.
Glad to see you relaxed again !
Brings back lots of fond memories of my youth touring through the Western Scottish highlands. 🏴
Thank you this beautiful experience. Must to see.
My dream passage, beautifully filmed! Hope to follow in your wake sometime...
😎
Absolute amazing, well done Eric!!!!!!!
Really astonishing, so beautiful. You are a lucky guy to have been able to do this. Fantastic video.
Great vid Erik see everything I missed watch locks! We had 20-25knts on way down. Hope Tess repairs are going well. I got blown round on that last swing bridge and bashed my spray hood so good to see the pros do it as well!

Dear Erik, I have seen all your videos. This is by far the best. Great photography and superb editing. You have made me decide to sail to Scotland. Sooner or later.
"Sooner or later" sometimes never comes so make up your mind, get it in your diary and do it. Happy sailing!!
@@rodcurrieclassics8102 got in my diary for the summer 2025. After myvfirstctastevof North sea last summer I had sworn I will never leave the Med, but....

Thank you Erik for this episode! Happy new year and lots of good wind! ❤
Happy New Year Eric. Fair winds and smooth seas on your way home. Great canal passage. Capt John.
So beautiful! Would love to sail through there someday. I have been all over Scotland by car but never by boat. I’m an American with a Scottish Mum. It would be incredible to see Scotland from this perspective. Thanks for sharing!
Beautiful and fascinating thank you
Thanks for another awesome video. Now we're really considering jumping over to Scotland on our way south from Norway! 😄
Bra kämpat! Ta fram vinterkläderna på hemvägen, det är svinkallt här uppe!
