I spend my days just staring at it as do the neighbors that walk by.. only issue with it is it is in full sun in upstate New York and it’s fall colors Are purple /red and nothing like the photos I have seen other places. I’m wondering if I need to fertilize. I’ve Had it for 7 years. I got it at a nursery hidden in back of farm. it was crowded with other plants so I’m guessing that’s why it grew in a V shape and so tall . Looks like a giant bonsai !
#MapleNutz Japanese Princess like that one. You can put a tarp or some type of net under the pot. Instead of spending hours collecting seeds you can let them drop on the tarp. Then you can collect them all at once.

My guess is that it was grown in a shaded area vs the other Mikawa Yatsubusa. Right now they are about the same color. I will be posting a garden walkthrough in a few days. You will see.
Im actually testing that. I have all of them in full sun because I believe the same thing as you. I will do an update video on this further down into the growing season.

Put it on the ground if you want it to grow a bit faster. You can’t mimic the microbiology that’s in the actual grown on a pot.
