    I was so glad when I saw Nature was included in the game. I played a Nature Cleric in a campaign and it was one of my favorite characters ever. I was able to replicate him in the game and it was an amazing experience and felt immensely personal.

    Thank you for this build and many others. Definitely one of the best content creators for builds by far. I would like to see a future Shadowheart build particularly with the other cleric domains like tempest or war or maybe other lore accurate builds like Paladin or Monk that fits her theme. And thanks for the tip about create water: now I can get her wet in the game like she is in my fan fiction. Big ups!

      Thanks so much for the support! I really appreciate that and the kind words. I have a few other SH builds up - you can find tempest under "The best cleric in bg3" (though that video is a little out of date so I may redo it at some point), light under "the best support cleric," and trickery under her lore friendly build, as well as a couple others - hopefully that will be plenty to keep you both going :P

    Glad to see someone repping the Nature Cleric! Probably not optimal but there’s a club that does extra damage with Shillelagh and a shield that deals damage back when you’re hit if you have Shillelagh up that would be fun on this build, at least around Act 2 if someone is already doing a radiant build.

  • @zorlix130
    @zorlix130 5 หลายเดือนก่อน +21

    23:08 - Yeah, more often than not the only issue I have with Clerics is that they lose concentration way too easily. But I think one level dip in Sorcerer is better than War Caster since it also gives you Shield. But both approaches cost you Alert which sucks. Which is why the Sentinel Shield is one of the best items for them. +3 to initiative may not be the +5 Alert gives you, but combined with the higher dex stat split, you'll win initiative 9/10 times anyway.

    • @JosieJOK
      @JosieJOK 5 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      Love that shield! _Someone_ in my party is always carrying it in every playthrough.

    • @Cephalopocalypse
      @Cephalopocalypse  5 หลายเดือนก่อน +16

      Generally I agree - if you want war caster, you should just take sorcerer instead. For this build I wanted to focus on a simple monoclass though, and I think Alert is better than the sorcerer level for honour mode usually

    • @razorsedge7501
      @razorsedge7501 5 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      or you can take something like mask of perception for a +2 to initiative. with taking the greedy stat split, it's got a +5 to initiative, which will single handedly move first most fights. I often have an archer, so I leave them with whispering promise + ring of regen, freeing up something like ring of protection here

    There was a tierlist a few months back (not sure if from yourself or someone else) where they were rating Subclasses based on "Early game" (lvls 1 to 4) and I remember they put Nature Domain cleric very low so I commented there that it was wrong and that I considered Nature to be the best cleric domain for that range (Because Spike Growth, Shillelagh, Heavy armor).. There was some discussion and arguments around that, some people thought I was meeming but no, ultimately I think my point stood.. I do agree that Light and Tempest are generally stronger at higher levels specially with how broken some item combos are (but still Nature remains good and versatile just not as broken as those two).
    Anyways glad to see Nature Cleric getting some love, now people won't think I'm meeming when I say I always like going Nature Domain on my Cleric for the early game.

    I'm a big fan of getting a single level into Nature Cleric for Speak with Animals, Heavy Armor, and the cantrip (on top of all the Cleric goodness). Thorn Whipping foes into clouds of Darkness is such a fun concept for a tank/controller type of character (specially with Pact of the Blade Warlock).

    Lv 1 to 5 is usually the most dangerous and difficult portion of the game. This build helps a lot getting through that period of time and remains very good past that point. Fixes a lot of the damage output. Ill never get tired to see a torch outdamage any weapon in game game !

    I made Jaheira a 5 gloomstalker/7 nature cleric. It was the closest I could come to figher/druid without making a totally gimped build. Of course I have her dual wielding scimitars, but as a dex fighter she is good ranged too. She doesn't do the damage that Lae'zel does as a Battle Master and she isn't the Swiss army knife of spellcasting the way that Shadowheart is as a single class light cleric, but it is a really fun and versatile combo to play, and powerful enough for tactician mode.

  • @mysecretavatar
    @mysecretavatar 20 วันที่ผ่านมา

    For classes that need high wisdom, Khalid's Gift (which is freely available through Jaheira at the beginning of Act 3) is basically the equivalent of getting Ethel’s hair. +1 to Wisdom with no conditions.

    One thing to know with shillelah is that you can dual wield torchs and the spell will apply to the torch in your main hand. Before a fight, apply it to your main hand torch and then swap your weapons and use it again and you'll deal insane damage.

  • @ProbeAway
    @ProbeAway 5 หลายเดือนก่อน +3

    I completely agree! I think the main reason nature cleric was initially dismissed is that it was missing Dampen Elements altogether at launch, so you just got nothing from the domain at level 6. It wasn't added until patch 4 in November, strangely enough. When you added that fact to the weak level 2 charm ability, it had the worst uses for its channel divinity of any cleric subclass.
    I also wonder whether the potential damage output of tempest and light domains set an expectation that clerics should be nukers, making people overlook their core use as powerful support, control and debuffing characters.

    • @Cephalopocalypse
      @Cephalopocalypse  5 หลายเดือนก่อน +3

      True! I think even without Dampen Elements it's still one of the better cleric subclasses though - I think generally people overvalue subclass abilities and undervalue spell list access on casters (for example, the best feature by far of fiend warlock is just that they get Command, but you rarely see that mentioned).

    Yeah around the time of your tier list I looked again at the nature cleric spell list and saw your point. Question. In terms of evaluating raw power, sometimes one of the issues is that something like druid or nature cleric gives a lot of versatility in approaches to different combats, but in that often coming from concentration spells (e.g., bless, calm emotions, silence, spirit guardians, spike growth, sleet storm all being excellent concentrations for various Act 1 fights), how does one compare that versatility to the raw power of blasting out a bunch of different spells in the same combat (e.g., fire sorcerer as blaster, various evocation wizard builds)? If no easy answer, at least food for thought I hope!

    I have a question regarding your honor mode party video from a couple of days ago. Is it possible that you make a small follow up video on which items to get the builds started with? I know that you go into the items by the end of each of the 4 characters a little bit but especially for someone who has seen these builds for the first time, I’d like to have an idea of item progression throughout the game, e.g. get this in Act 1, replace it with this in Act 2 and so on… I understand if this is a lot to ask but I think it would really help 😊 keep up the great work man!

    Sleet Storm + Fire is not enough to cause wet. It creates a water surface, but water surfaces do not make targets wet. You would need to use two sources of fire to do that. Hitting the resulting water surface with a fire will create a steam cloud, and steam clouds DO make targets wet. So Sleet Storm + Fire + Fire would cause wet, which is like 3 actions for 1 create water. A pretty shitty "combo" if you ask me.

    • @Cephalopocalypse
      @Cephalopocalypse  5 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      Any fire damage to an enemy standing on it is enough to melt it, you don't have to spend your action specifically attacking the ice surface - if you were wasting your turn doing that, you're right that it wouldn't be very good!

Karlach being vengeance paladin, and Astarion a pure monk. Stumbled upon this since I was looking to implement, check this out, a third, melee cleric instead of a monk, possibly a war cleric or something along that, and to my demise this is not the one. And they are all monoclass. Just for shenanigans. Far from optimal, but hey, have fun with the game, all that matters.
