I am not usually one for support builds, but the idea of essentially tricking my mates into believing they are doing good so they keep playing does put a smile on my face.
Not even finished watching and already liked, just so glad to see more BG3 videos, so many others have moved onto to Elden Ring DLC now and my feed seems full of them although never watched any Elden Ring build videos, and although played base game not really interested in getting back into the game. So will always get a like from me. Love the videos, keep up the amazing and informative content.
Paladin/Druid is such a good Jaheira multiclass. I've been running it in my all Spore Druid HM run as a much more damage focused 5 Paladin/7 Druid split that uses Flame Blade combined with Pyroquickness Hat and Belm to get a bunch of Flame Blade attacks in, but I love this more support focused take on it too!
@lenam317 if you're already dual wielding, yes. But if you're using only Belm in your mainhand and you cast Flame Blade, Belm moves to your offhand and Flame Blade becomes your main hand weapon. Belm's unique bonus action causes it to mimic a main hand strike, so you effectively get three Flame Blade swings in this way. By the time you get Belm you have enough 2nd and 4th level spell slots that you can always cast Flame Blade on your first turn in any fight that matters, so the fact that you're only wielding Belm to start off the fight isn't a big problem.
Larethian's Wrath, the other finesse longsword, is also good for paladin, you can smite as a reaction every enemy caught in its aoe attack provided you are willing to spend spell slots
All spore druids should consider equipping the Armor of the Sporekeeper (i think it's called) as the haste spore cloud is completely bonkers. 2 turns of the haste buff for all party memebers who walk through the cloud and no lethargic when it ends is probably the single best sypport ability in the game.
One fun thing I found to do with Spore Druids is to use the Mind Flayer power "Shield of Thralls" on them - It gives one thing 10 bonus hitpoints, but when those bonus hitpoints expire it does a DC 15 (INT) aoe Stun. So you can turn your sporebois and stuff into another strategic tool. Which isn't bad since it refreshes on short rests, and you might be surprised how many things don't have great INT saves. And as a bonus, during that round they are stunned they AUTOMATICALLY fail strength and dex saving throws, which opens up all kinds of options. The stun only lasts for a turn but that's still enough to capitalize on!
I've been watching all your videos recently. I only just started playing Baldurs Gate and I'm not much of a meta-gamer in TTRPGs or videogames but your content has helped me to understand how the game works (and the meta-game of DnD, as despite playing for years my group is very casual.) I've heard you say you read every comment, so if you do read this I'd like to request that you consider making a build guide for a Monk that, similarly to this Jaheira build, doesn't steal the spotlight. Monk just bc my SO is playing Paladin and I wanted to be an acolyte of her order, so doesn't have to be monoclassed (I imagine a mono-monk has slim hopes for being anything other than a striker). Thanks again for the effort you put into your videos, the world always needs more joy and fun 😄
Duellist Prerogative would be insane on this tbh. I think it’d be more “fun” than Phalar Aluve although Aluve might be more impactful overall. The extra reaction from Duellists may allow you to heal more.
Kinda wasted tbh.. ofc the outer ring is op af. Also the passives / reactions are amazing. Everything else is optional and depends on what you like / want.
The halo of spores reaction can be used destroy anything destroyable lol. I just click heels and dashed while placing battles around surprised enemies, then make a chain of alchemy fires. I ignited the first in the chain with halo of spores reaction, and the whole place blew up! Very versatile reaction
Great build... You mentioned using the halo of spores to break healing potions on the ground near allies. I just confirmed the game treats that the same as any other heal action, so the buffs from Hellrider's Pride and Volo's ring are applied to the ally. This means you can use your reaction every turn to buff an ally or two without spending spell slots. If you keep Volo at camp and pickpocket him regularly, the supply of potions is almost endless and you can also use alchemy, etc.
I love these! We can never have enough Jaheira builds. Just disappointed at the Spores choice, it feels too out-of-lore for me. How about a lore-friendly AND honour mode Jaheira? I'd love to see how you approach a Jaheira who can only multi-class into: - Fighter (Battle Master only) - Druid (Circle of the Land only) - Paladin (Ancients only) AND will always dual wield schimitars, allowed to occasionally switch to a club&staff. I'm even OK with giving her the dex gloves!
I was stubborn about making Jaheira a fighter/druid for lore reasons, and 2/8 make her suuupper tanky, have action surge per short rest, good melee damage with shilellagh, and insane damage and cc with spells.
The temporary hit points thing might not be a bug, I think it's just how THP works in this game. Warlocks can do the same thing with upcasted Armor of Agathys, refilling it by casting the invocation version of False Life.
Just became a member of your channel. Fantastic content. I just started playing this game and pretty much know nothing of Tactical RPGs so I'm pretty terrible at it. lol
Im currently using this build on my Jaheira in honour mode. I just did the fight to save Minsc, being very careful as I frequently messed up before with getting him knocked out instead of dead and obviously I can't savescum around this in honour mode. After succeeding however Jaheira somehow broke her oath 😂 I think I might have had her kill one of the cultists that was knocked out basically to waist her turn since I was worried the extra necrotic damage might make the non-lethal attack fail. But the thought of Jaheira breaking her oath by knocking Minsc unconscious made me crack up.
Thanks for another great build video! Love the way you explain things so thoroughly. Helps understand the game even more. Also, quick question... would you ever stream a playthrough? Just curious cus I love watching them and you're one of my fav youtubers now
Nice video! Definitely going to try this one out! Thanks for the great work! Please, would you make a video of 4 builds with a wet+ice/lightning synergy to make a full party fitting this theme?
Imagine being the enemy dealing with that shit... Okay, they only have 5 spells. So thats 5 smites. 1. Smite 2. Smite 3. Smite 4. Smite 5. Smite Dope. They're out now... Wait... is that a fucking owlbear?
Don't you hate the way the games removes all your previous spell choices when you add or return to a different class? After taking your second level of paladin your cleric spells were all different to what you had before
I'm not sure if vital conduit boots is necessarily a bug. The tag for symbiotic entity's temporary hit points is different than most other sources in the code apparently, so as a fun fact, it also applies in reverse in the case of symbiotic entity being able to refill the temporary hit points of armour of agathys
It's possible! That's not how it works in tabletop, and temp hit points usually can't be restored by any means, but it might be that they decided to house rule spore druid for some reason. I think it's more likely just an artifact of how they coded it, but you never know!
What's your opinion on armor of the sporekeeper? I think the bonus action to create the haste surface is insane (specially with summons). Aside from that bonus action I think is not super strong but equiping it for a hard fight to trviliaze it seems very good.
It's definitely a great pick! If you don't have another source of haste it's extremely good, and +1 DC is always a relevant passive. This build might suffer a little more from low base AC than other spore druid builds since you want to be up in the mix, but it's still very much worth using
I'm on my 1st playthrough with a plan of War Cleric 1, Wizard 1, and Spore Druid 10 in that order, though I'm currently character level 6 in Act 1. Are the spore clouds created by Spreading Spores flammable or dispellable (apart from losing all your temp HP)? I ask this because in Divinity Original Sin 2 poison clouds could be ignited with fire spells to cause a chain reaction explosion for additional damage. Imagine using your bonus action to spawn a spore cloud, detonate it with a Fireball spell as your action, then hit a burning target with a Hail of Spores reaction to trigger another explosion.
Druid is my fav class and this is a good build, but to attack melee it lacks double attack on level 5. As a supporter in your example, I'd stick with a good staff and good AC to be a tank...you won't do much damage with a single melee attack on higher levels...same with a bow.
Would swapping the 15 wis and 16 con improve wild shape health? The Bearbarian gets the extra 1 con from tavern brawler, does a normal ability improvement do the same?
Something curious happens to me with Jaheira and that is that when I enter combat she does not do so and I can move her throughout the area, only when I attack with her does she enter combat
Could you make a build for a dual wield paladin? I like to keep the same weapon type on a companion like an axe for karlach or rapier for wyll and i saw that minthara by default dual wields maces but pallys dont even have 2w fighting style so maybe some kinda pally/fighter multiclass? Or just 9 pally/3 thief?
I struggle seeing Jaheira as a Spores Druid. Halsin would be more believable with from his time spent in the Underdark. But, this is a great build that I'll probably use on my Evil Durge playthrough.
Another awesome video.. I want to make a ICE party build... Like White Draconic Sorc MC... Maybe 6/6 Paladin, EK thrower with Jabber... just can't seem to get all the group right...
If you don't mind it being insanely op Abjuration wizard with a level 1 white dragon Sorc dip plus a moon druid with white dragon sorc dip summoning a myrmidon would be crazy. Then a full white dragon sorc with markoheshkir plus mourning frost and a melee character with some kind of ice weapon that also throw water bottles on enemies to get them wet could be crazy
I like this build a lor for Wyll, actually, for quite a few reasons, the first is that I tend to want to play the warlock spellblade multiclasses on Tav and that leaves Wyll a bit redundant if left in his build (or forces him into a sorlock build, which isn't bad but feels kinda off for Wyll) While this does admittedly take him out of warlock, that's fine for me because 1) It's D&D and the flavor as written is a suggestion at best, Mizora could totally give Wyll nature-themed powers if she wanted. 2) While a straight paladin would fit Wyll quite well, so does this build. Like after breaking free from Mizora's pact, it absolutely feels like Wyll could have learned the ways of the druid from Halzin or (more likely) Jaheira and 3) It lets Wyll keep his spellblade style even if it is a different flavor. YMMV of course but it definitely works for me. Also because you reassign the human skill prof with mods real easily, especially with the official mod support, there is your perception from race (or alternatively, start as Druid, get perception from class and then get sleight of hand from race)
This is my first play through using a druid, and they are way too good. I like the versatility of this build but summoner is a lot of fun too, a bit micromanagement intensive, but still pretty fun.
It's been months since I've done everything I've wanted to in BG3, but I keep watching these vids 😂
Definitely not alone lol

Same here

Cleric/Monk multiclass for radiating orb stacking. Or Shadow monk providing extra casts of darkness to lockadin buddy.
Thanks for the suggestion 😁
love a good swords based Jaheira build
Great build!! I think this build is perfect for a Resist Durge run, just fits thematically for flavor reasons :p definitely gonna try it out!
Huge fan of Paladin dip builds like this, specially with support spellcasters.
