    Oh Mark. I've been a Christian for over 25 years. I wish I received your type of teaching. I've felt like I had to work to receive salvation, work to stay save, work to earn heaven. After all of this working to be perfect I'm tired and still uncertain of God's unconditional love for me. I feel like I need a spiritual reset button. I want to know God, His love, mercy, and grace. Thanks for your videos.

Like some intrusive thoughts Im certain that are lies (Im secure in my identity) but those where my identity wasnt strong enough I feel like "omg what if this true?" and then these thoughts torture me and I cant forgive myself and I feel like my life it's ruined cuz God it's gonna put this into my account and never forget...

      I recently discovered I had OCD. I always knew there was something off about me lol. But it's not funny actually. I never knew how many symptoms there were in OCD. I like many was limited to thinking it was all about cleanliness but no it's about soooo much more than that. I was shocked at all the things that went along with OCD like the mind that never rests over thinking about everything to the point nothing gets done because I everything done but in unrealistic times and done in an unrealistic timeframe. Not to mention the awful intrusive thoughts. It's so hard being a Christian going through all that too. And on top of it all it effects your relationships with people too. It took me until 42 years of age to find out what the heck was wrong with me. So glad I didn't find out any later in life!

You took me out to Panera bread then to your place for ministry. And hotel Meetings in East Hartford. SO, my point is I’ve never ever been able to focus enough to hear all your teachings. My brain is all over the place. I’ve asked you a while back if you had anything on adhd. Mark how can I even start understanding your teachings if I can’t focus. You might laugh but I’ve been trying for what, 15
    Years trying to listen to
    You. And I’m still behind. Trying to focus. If someone can’t focus. They’ll never get what your trying to say to help me.

    God is Love. Fear is the devil. If I hold on to things that stem from fear, directly or indirectly, I will never get out of the pit. If I let go of fear, and hold on to love and what comes from love, I am better. I realised that all my OCD comes from fear. I have to obsess, I have to address, I have to check, I have to repeat, I have to worry and doubt and be uncertain and the only way to "fix" that is to interact with it. So wrong. Absolutely false. This video helped me realise that I don't have to engage with any of those things because they all come from fear and if I know that God loves me and is with me I don't HAVE to feel flase fear. That's what I say to myself. I don't HAVE to do this. I'm okay.
    Once we realise how much of these thoughts and feelings come directly and indirectly from fear it's like we are looking at it from a whole new perspective. I thought I always had to fight, always had to fix, always had to be certain, always had to try and grasp at ghosts and catch them to make them go away. And if I didn't I'd call myself weak and cowardly. If you don't react you're losing and running away. So the fear results in a fear based response for a fear based problem that doesn't even exist and my reasoning for not turning away from that is also based in fear. Fear that I missed something, fear that something isn't just right, fear that it's not perfect, fear that something is negatively impacting my experience, fear that I can't ever feel fulfilled or satisfied until I give in to that compulsion, fear of being uncertain, fear of not being good enough. Literally every single aspect of that comes from fear.
    Fear really is the enemy. If I can be courageous in the face of that fear and let it go, I do better. When I give in to that fear and either try to fix or fight it, I get worse. Thanks for helping me make that connection and admit to myself I have a bad relationship with fear in my life. God bless.

      Best to let go of superstition when it comes to OCD. Unclean spirits and all this stuff are stories, what's happening is you have created a pattern of thinking which is negative. You have to slowly dig/drag yourself out of it into positivity. You know this because many other people of all faiths have these same types of obsessions and compulsions and so on. It's an anxiety disorder, don't let people tell you stories!

    Perfect love casts out all fear..but love does not come separate from God. God does not send His love to us from heaven. Fear is the natural state every human is born in because in our natural birth we are born disconnected from God the source of life. This is what we have inherited from Adam.Fear comes from the presence of separation and death. Depending on how we are nurtured (or not) is how great Fear is manifested in our life. But we all have fear because the presence of God is missing. Love is the presence of God that brings with Him every perfect gift we need. We overcome fear by allowing more of the presence of God within us by focusing on the truth as revealed in His word and seeking more of His presence within us.In short having no other God before Him.It's the only way we can give up on being our own god (self). The presence of God is not an abstract thing as many of us have been taught. It is a living reality

    • @gdnbastia
      @gdnbastia 3 ปีที่แล้ว +8

      It is important that scripture interpret scripture.
      Deuteronomy 6:13 says ‘ fear the Lord your God and Serve him only’
      But Luke 4:8 when Jesus replied to the Devil during the temptation that ‘ worship the Lord your God only and serve him only’
      Here Jesus interprets the fear of the God means worshiping and not to be scared of him.
      How can you love your father in heaven if you are scared of Him. It’s the lie from the devil.
      God loves you unconditionally which means you do right or wrong he will still love you with an everlasting love. Believing in his love for you will empower you to live above every defeat.

    Im confused about how fear is related to OCD, because I mostly feel disgust. I have heard many testimonies and people relate OCD to fear, but I feel more disgust than fear. For example when I see someone spit, I am so disgusted that for sure my shoes feel contaminated. The door knob, knowing people scratch something and then touched it, it just disgusting to me, so I don’t know how to relate to the idea of fear. Please comment the help me understand. Thank you in advance.

    • @SA-tl1mo
      @SA-tl1mo 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      See if this helps:
      May be you are trying to project an internal disgust feeling onto external things like spit, contaminated knob etc.
      That internal disgust may actually be about some aspect of you that you feel shameful about. Maybe someone in your childhood shamed you for being someway or doing something. They may have expressed disgust over what they perceived as a shameful, imperfect aspect of your being.
      That disapproval of your caregivers, or adults in your childhood could have been registered in your sub conscious as a threat to your survival/existence/nurturing/safety.
      So may be.. you fear those shameful - disgusting aspects and try to fight them, solve them metaphorically.
      Since your mind has forgotten the actual event, but the threat and response cycle is not complete, your mind constantly projects that 'threat' onto external disgusts and then the compulsion actions try to get control over the threat.
      If you look within and see, process and let go of internal disgust/disapproval of imperfections/shame/guilt, you might get over your OCD.
